I’ve gone to the palace, by the way. And I don’t think I’m coming back. That probably isn’t a surprise to you, but I’m sorry if it is. You’re welcome to badmouth me to Sonny and Pa, and even Ma, if that makes you feel better.

I’ll probably never have a good laugh until we see each other again. If you ever find the guts to escape Ma’s clutches and come aboveground, you can ask for me at the palace. I’ll miss you.
