Chapter 19 Jace
JACE
“Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you. Spoke to Carl Hill today. He still needs some time to think, but I think he’ll go with you. He was also interested in the foundation,” Brooke said.
“That’s great news. When do you even do this?”
“It’s just a few emails and phone calls here and there.”
“Thanks for everything, Brooke.”
“My pleasure. I think this can be really great. I talked to Hailey and Paige—they said that some of the contacts I gave them agreed to conduct a few interviews at the center. This could turn out wonderfully, Jace. I’m excited.”
She spoke with so much passion that I couldn’t hold back. I cupped the back of her head, tilting it slightly backward before dipping in to kiss her, greedy for all that fire. I’d never thought someone who got me so completely even existed.
I moved my mouth from her neck to her shoulder, pushing the straps of her dress away before undoing her zipper.
I needed her naked. When her dress fell to her feet, I held her hand as she stepped out of it.
Then I walked us to the couch. She was right in front of me, and I was one step behind, already hooking my thumbs in the elastic of her thong.
I couldn’t be this close to her and not touch her.
I lowered her panties, palming both ass cheeks and giving them a squeeze before undoing her bra and laying her on the couch on her back.
She was looking up at me with so much hunger that I barely had enough self-restraint to get rid of my clothes and put on a condom.
Settling between her legs, I rubbed two fingers between her thighs.
Fuck, she was wet. I kissed her stomach, moving up to her collarbone, rubbing the head of my cock along her entrance.
Even though I was blind with need, I wanted to prolong this, to increase the anticipation.
I looked down between us, watching her chest rise and fall in rapid succession, her hips lifted just slightly off the couch, ready for me.
I entered her in one quick move, watching her eyes widen before capturing her mouth in a kiss, and interlacing my hands with hers. I wanted to be connected to Brooke in every way possible. I needed it.
She felt out of this world good, even better than in New York. Nothing ever felt this fucking perfect. She was pressing her thighs against mine before hooking her heels just under my ass, urging me on.
The faster I moved, the more she demanded. My mouth was moving from her shoulders to her mouth, then back to her body. I wanted to worship every part of her, but I wanted her to be more comfortable.
I slowed my thrusts before pulling out of her. She blinked, confused, looking at our interlaced hands as if the only way she could make sense of anything was if we were connected.
“I need you in my bed.”
She smiled happily, bringing an arm around my neck as I lifted and carried her to the bedroom.
The moment she was on her back, I leaned over her, taking one nipple in my mouth, touching her waist and hips.
I didn’t enter her. First, I wanted to memorize every curve.
She whimpered, running a hand through my hair before rolling her hips, and I gave in.
I entered her the next second, burying myself inside her to the base. I needed to chase my release more than I needed to breathe, but more than that, I wanted to prolong the moment.
I rolled us over so we were lying on our sides, and ran my fingers over the leg she kept on top, hooking my elbow under her knee, pulling her at the angle I wanted her.
And then I started fucking hard, thrusting deep.
Brooke bit her lower lip, fisting the pillow as she moved her hips in a relentless rhythm.
I’d never tire of this: watching her, bringing her pleasure. I wanted to know this woman inside out.
“Touch yourself, Brooke. I want to watch.”
She did as I asked, no hesitation. She climaxed spectacularly, and the sight made me come apart. I kissed her slowly, rocking into her at a lazy pace, wringing out every drop of pleasure before pulling out and keeping her in my arms.
She rested her cheek on my chest, feeling warm and soft against me. I kissed the top of her head, knowing I had to take care of the condom but not wanting to let go.
“Shower, lazy girl?”
“Mpf.”
“What was that?” I chuckled. She poked two fingers between my ribs. “What did I do to deserve that?”
“Laughing at me when you’re the one who brought me to this state.”
“I see. So I shouldn’t do it again?”
She lifted her head, pouting. “I did not say that.”
After we cleaned up, we returned to the living room. It was still early, and I wanted to make the most of our evening together. Brooke talked about a short trip she’d be taking with her sister to buy some gardening supplies during an annual flower festival in two months.
“I can join you,” I suggested.
“Jace, you’d get bored.”
I couldn’t tell if she really meant that, or if she simply didn’t want to make plans for us so far in advance. But I wanted her to be certain about one thing. “I disagree. I find everything you do fascinating.”
“You do?”
“Yeah.”
She smiled shyly, and I remembered she’d been through a disappointment not too long ago. I wanted to erase any hurt, any bad memories, make sure she wouldn’t go through either again.
“By the way, I’ll watch your away game with my sister. She’ll probably shoot me for making her watch a soccer game, but that will only last until I tell her all about you, and then soccer-watching will turn into Jace appreciation. It’ll take her mind off her troubles.”
“You’re using me,” I said in mock indignation.
“Totally.”
We debated flicking through TV channels before deciding I still had a lot of Game of Thrones to watch.
As we settled on the couch, I pulled her close and asked, “What are you doing tomorrow?”
“Working.”
“In the evening, smartass.”
“No plans yet, why?”
“Spend the evening with me. After the home game.” I scrutinized her expression, my heart pounding insanely fast. I didn’t know how much pushing was too much, if she even wanted to spend as much time with me as I wanted to spend with her.
“I like the sound of that.”
“Where do you want to go?”
“Nowhere. How about I cook something for you? I happen to know far more than ten recipes, and I can’t wait to impress you with them. You’ll be too exhausted to go out. I’ll take care of you.”
I nodded, dipping my head to her neck, kissing it before speaking against her skin.
“I’d like that.”
I couldn’t remember the last time someone I wasn’t related to said that to me, and her words brought on a feeling that was so new to me, and yet so unexpectedly fulfilling that I didn’t know what to do with it, except pull her even closer, settling in for a night in with my girl.
