Charlie Intermission IV

Lucky’s penthouse was overwhelming. It made sense that the size of everything had been scaled up to fit the Prince of Hell’s massive build, but Charlie had never seen such large doors in a residential building before.

Even the closet entrance looked like something from a gothic chapel.

It was tall and golden with black and red stained glass.

It was über fancy, and he felt like he shouldn’t touch anything.

It took him a while to figure out the shower controls, and he felt like a kid standing in the massive space—even more so when Lucky’s large towels basically covered him from chest to ankles—but he was thankful for the opportunity to bathe.

Even though he was dead it felt wrong to be dirty.

He wasn’t quite sure how he was able to scrub his soul, but so far the rules of Hell made little sense and it hurt his head to try and think of the why behind it all, so he simply didn’t.

It was his new normal. That fact made him a little sad, but he didn’t want to dwell on it.

He’d thrown Lucky’s shirt that he’d slept in, along with his wrinkled and sulfur-smelling button ups and slacks, into the washing machine. It would take a while to dry so he hoped Lucky wouldn’t mind him borrowing another shirt to wear in the interim.

The Prince of Hell’s closet reminded him of a department store.

Nearly all of the items inside were black, with only a few white and deep red button ups that seemed quite fashionable near the front.

An array of blazers, shirts, slacks, and dress shoes were all separated into their appropriate categories.

Deeper in the closet, Charlie found a few garments that looked similar to streetwear he’d see on social media, and he did vaguely remember Lucky mentioning he liked going clubbing, so he wondered if those were reserved for such occasions since he’d yet to see his captor in such revealing and casual clothes. He was always dressed for business.

For a second, Charlie couldn’t help but muse about Lucky in some of those mesh tops and low-sitting pants. His mind started wandering to the prince’s body, what it looked like under the office attire, but he quickly realized that wasn’t appropriate so he moved on.

He found another simple black t-shirt. He pulled it off the hanger, hoping to at least stay somewhat covered while his laundry tumbled.

But curiosity got the better of him, and he went back to the button ups.

As he touched one of the silk shirts it slipped off of the hanger.

He gasped and grabbed it, which shook the towel around his body loose.

Feeling uneasy and frantic, he slipped the button up around his naked frame.

It was cool and felt nice against his frame.

He turned to look at the mirror he’d spotted behind him, just to see what he looked like, but stopped in his tracks when he noticed Lucky standing in the doorway, backlit by the eternal flames of Hell coming through the bedroom windows behind him…
