Chapter 10
ENZO
Instead of getting sleep, I lie on the bed in my motel room and watch the security feed of the cameras that were set up in the house.
Seeing Jenna safe and sound sets me at ease.
I owe everyone big time. We worked around the clock to get the house ready over the past two days.
I only have five men guarding Jenna, but no one should go looking for her at the lakehouse.
Jenna heads back to her bedroom, and when she reads the letter I wrote her, I focus on her face, which is very expressive. Her features soften, and a shy smile curves her mouth up.
When she presses the letter to her chest, I whisper, “You’re welcome, meu anjinho.”
She walks to the window and looks out of it, then a moment later, she shrieks happily and falls on the bed with a breathtaking smile on her face.
I grin until she turns onto her stomach, and her shoulders shake as she starts to cry.
Just as I sit up and worry pours into my chest, I hear her whisper, “Thank you, E.”
My breathing stills as I stare at the woman who’s crawled into my heart, and needing to make sure I heard right, I rewind and replay the last thirty seconds.
“Thank you, E.”
I’ve been damn near obsessed with Jenna for ten days, but as I hear her speak for the first time, a much stronger emotion takes ownership of my heart and soul.
It’s something I’ve never felt before, and now that she’s in the house and I have men guarding her, I know with dead certainty I’m never letting her go.
I’ll give her a few days to get comfortable before I go to the house, so we can talk about the future because her life is now irrevocably tied to mine.
Lying down on my side, I continue to watch as Jenna leaves the room to clean the house. Hours pass before she finally sits down on a couch in the living room, and excitement shines from her eyes when she switches on the TV.
It takes so little to make her happy.
As I drink in the beautiful vision that’s Jenna Dotson, I realize there’s one thing I want to own that money can’t buy.
I tap on the screen to enlarge it until I’m able to see the colors of her eyes.
Is your soul for sale, meu anjinho?
If I offer you millions, will you give yourself to me?
I stare at her face, and when her lips part, I wonder what she tastes like.
Probably sweet and innocent.
I zoom out again and look at the faded blue T-shirt she’s wearing. I’m guessing she’ll tremble when I undress her for the first time.
She’s twenty-six, so the odds of her being a virgin aren’t good, but she gives me the impression she’s inexperienced.
Her body is much smaller than mine, and if she hasn’t had sex often, her pussy will be a tight fit.
The corners of my mouth curve up, and not giving a fuck whether I’m being a creep, I turn onto my back and shove my sweatpants down. Wrapping my hand around my hard-on, I slowly begin to stroke myself while my eyes stay locked on Jenna.
One day, I’m going to peel off your clothes and savor every inch of your body as it’s revealed to me.
Jenna pulls her legs up and covers her mouth with her hands while her eyes grow wide, and from the reflection of the TV in the windows, I see a couple kissing.
If you can call it that. Their lips are barely touching.
My fist stills around my cock as my eyes snap back to Jenna, who lets out a soft shriek of excitement.
Meu Deus.
If that’s her reaction to a couple giving each other a peck, she is more innocent than I thought.
The little piece of information I just learned makes me even harder, and my fist begins to move fast.
With my eyes locked on the woman I want to fuck, I blow my load over my abdomen, letting out a satisfied groan.
I glance down at my cum, and when I think of filling Jenna until it drips down her inner thighs, my cock jerks.
Deus, the filthy things I want to do to you, meu anjinho, would send you running for the hills.
But alas, I won’t get to fuck her anytime soon and will have to be content with jerking off.
Climbing out of bed, I go to the bathroom and set my phone down on the counter so I can still see the screen while I strip out of my sweatpants.
I switch on the faucets, and as I wait for the water to warm up, I wipe off the mess on my abdomen.
Looking down at the tattoo covering all of my chest and abs, I wonder how Jenna will react to seeing the devil, horns and all, inked into my skin.
The beast’s mouth is open in a roar, and in his throat is a burning man.
I was twenty-nine when I finally got to kill Martim. He was a cab driver who took advantage of children living on the street.
Remembering what I did for five euros so I wouldn’t starve has my head jerking to the side and my hands closing in fists.
What happened in that cab, during one of the most brutal winters Lisbon ever saw, is my deepest, darkest secret, which I’ll take to my grave.
We’re just about to meet in Dominik’s room when the rumbling of motorcycles has me stopping dead in my tracks.
I move fast, pulling my gun out while shouting at the guards, “Get ready for an attack.”
Leo’s door swings open, and as he comes out, he asks, “Attack?”
I point toward the road. “Sounds like the MC is heading our way.”
Cassia, Dominik, and Santiago join us.
“Go back inside and don’t come out until I say it’s safe,” Santiago tells Cassia. When she scowls at him, he shakes his head. “You’re pregnant. Go.”
She audibly huffs while she returns to her room and slams the door shut.
Leo chuckles, glancing at Santiago. “She’s going to let you have it later.”
“Fine by me,” Santiago murmurs, his eyes locked on the bikers as they come down the road in groups of two.
One breaks away, indicating to us that he’s the leader, and when he brings his bike to a stop and climbs off, I take a few steps forward.
“I heard the motel was fully booked,” the man says as he glances at the guards before locking eyes with me.
He’s easily in his sixties, and the patch on his cut shows he’s the president of the club.
“The name is Ricky. I don’t appreciate you coming into my town and shooting my men.”
The other motorcycles stop in a row across the parking area, and I calculate it will take me a couple of minutes at most to put a bullet in every man.
When I continue to stare at Ricky, he lets out a chuckle and looks at Dominik, Santiago, and Leo. “Do any of you speak English?”
Santiago bursts out laughing as if it’s the funniest thing he’s heard, then he asks, “Please, can we make him pick one of my cards?”
“Soon,” Dominik mutters. “First, let Enzo deal with things.”
When I lift my arm, gesturing with my barrel at Ricky, the members of the MC all scramble to draw their weapons, panic flashing over their faces, which has all our guards training their submachine guns on the idiots.
Santiago snorts, and even I have to admit it’s funny.
“A hundred and twenty-five thousand,” I mutter.
Ricky frowns at me. “What?”
“That’s how much it will cost you for ten minutes of my time,” I say, my tone emotionless. “Come back when you have my money, and we can sit down and talk.”
“I have to remember that line,” Leo whispers.
I turn around and gesture to Cassia’s room. “Let's have our meeting so I can head out to the factory.”
“You better watch your back,” Ricky calls out. “The roads around these parts are dangerous.”
I open the door, and as I step inside, Cassia looks at me, her arms crossed over her chest.
The sound of engines starting fills the air, and I’m surprised when the MC actually leaves.
Shaking my head, I say, “All bark and no bite. It takes all the fun out of the war.”
“That sounded pretty anticlimactic,” Cassia mutters. When Santiago comes into the room, she levels him with a glare. “Never again. If I can’t stand beside you, what use am I to the alliance?”
“I’m only thinking of the baby,” he replies. “And Knight would kill me if I let something happen to his wife and unborn child.”
“So that’s the MC?” Leo asks, wisely changing the subject. “I only counted nineteen men.”
“There are more,” I reply. “Probably double that number. Ricky wants us to underestimate him. My guess is he came here to see what he’s dealing with before they plan an attack.”
“I think so, too,” Dominik agrees. “Just as well half our guards are sleeping right now, so the MC doesn’t know how many we have in total.”
Santiago lets out a chuckle. “None of the MC members looked trained. They don’t stand a chance against the five of us, never mind our guards.”
Dominik looks at me. “How do you want to play this?”
“Let them sweat and bring the war to us,” I say. “I’m going to the factory. I have work to take care of instead of worrying about a bunch of idiots.”
“I’m coming with,” Leo says. “I’ll die of boredom if I stay at this motel a second longer.”
“Field trip,” Santiago jokes.
So much for getting some time away from the alliance.
As much as I appreciate having them here, I’m not used to being surrounded by people, twenty-four-seven.
“You guys have fun.” Dominik walks to the door. “I’m calling my wife.”
“I’m going to check on Jenna.”
My eyes snap to Cassia. “Really?”
She shrugs. “She seems like she could use a friend, and I need some female company. All this testosterone is a bit much for me.”
“Don’t wake her if she’s sleeping,” I warn Cassia.
“So overprotective of her already,” she teases me with a smile.
“You have no idea,” I mutter as I leave her room and head to my SUV.
