Chapter 7 - Lash
It isn’t the tip-toeing footsteps that clue me in.
It’s the smell when she reaches my door, seeping under the gap to baste me in the sour-sweet scent of her arousal, mixed with the gagging retch of her cuck.
I’d rather bury my snout in a rotting pile of flesh then choke down his odor oozing from her pores.
But the electronic whirring of the lock unbolting is unexpected.
My claws slip on the concrete floor as I scramble to get up. This may be my only chance at escape.
That hot assed little blonde would be no match for me. I might just take her back to my pack.
She’d give us a massive advantage in our fights with the humans.
When the heavy steel barricade swings slowly open, she shows her face with her finger resting over her lips.
“Shhh,” she hisses, then gestures for me to follow. “We’re getting out of here.”
Is this a trap?
There’s a moment where I hesitate.
Wherever she’s leading me, at least I won’t be sitting in this bunker waiting to die.
She leads me through the maze of halls until she stops near a foyer where the sounds of some sort of gathering winds through the air.
Gesturing me closer, she leans towards me.
Brave considering our last encounter.
“They’re having a banquet,” she whispers near my ear. Her breath tickles over the fine hairs making my cock harden.
Perhaps I’ll abandon following her and fuck her against this gilded wall?
Soon. I’ll flush out the useless cum that runs down her thighs.
Her blue eyes narrow as she glances down. “Put that away.” She juts her finger at the burgeoning purple head of my unsheathed erection.
“You help me get away, I’ll let you use it later.” Her flush of arousal fills my nostrils with a sultry lure. “There’s a room full of monsters who have bled me dry for years in that room. But on the other side is the only access to freedom that isn’t surrounded by electric fences.”
Her arm snakes out, gripping the throbbing tip of my sensitive cock.
A gasp rushes past my canines. “You’re playing with fire,” I growl, framing her tiny body.
Boldness in the face of certain death. She’s hiding a resolve of steel beneath her curves.
“I like that you can talk.” She smiles brazenly up at me. “Who knew dreams could come true?” Her thumb rubs over my leaking slit before she raises it to her mouth.
The pink triangle of her tongue darts out, pulling the pearl droplet between her lips.
Who is this demon?
Why does she tempt me so?
“Kill them all,” she coos, raising her touch to stroke the soft fur of my cheek.
Raising my muzzle, I test the scents coming from the mirthy room.
“There’s no dogs there. What monsters?” I want to know what to expect.
She tilts her head, a humorless smile drifting over the glistening edge of her mouth. “The worst ones are always human.”
Baring my teeth with a nod, I drop to all fours with my hackles raised, ready to leap.
“I don’t think there will be many guards, most aren’t allowed to mingle with these rich assholes.
The exit is straight through, and then follow the rear hall to the right.
If you take out enough, they’ll be so busy tending to the injured, they won’t chase.
” Her nose wrinkles. “I never thought I’d wish ill on people, but they lost my empathy a long time ago. ”
I know the feeling.
Ever since the virus changed me, I’ve been hunted as a beast. So I became the creature they feared most.
And I am hungry.
She glances only once before she pushes open the big double doors, unleashing me into a startled crowd of posh onlookers.
Within two strides, I have the first rail-thin tuxedoed man. Hooking my claws into his stomach, I rip him close enough that I can sink my jaws into the soft flesh of his throat.
He falls with a spray of blood amongst the shocked screams from the woman next to him.
All it takes is a single swipe of my arm, and she crumples into a writhing mass as the strings of her intestines flay upon the marbled floor.
Shoving one of the massive tables, it flies across the slick surface to crush three fleeing party goers sending them tumbling with shattered legs.
Their howls echo behind me, but I’m focused on the far side.
One thickset man tries frantically to herd a gaggle of old women ahead of him.
His high pitched cry lingers as I rend a wad of yellow fat from his side, chewing the soft meat in gulping swallows. It’s greasy and rich, like warm butter slipping over my tongue.
Tearing off one more filling bite, I let the screeching morsel fall.
Reinvigorated, I leap through the air, crashing atop two of the slow moving hags, their bony frames shattering under my weight.
Fragile things.
It’s a wonder they haven’t all fallen under our might.
Our mutations have us bigger, stronger, and faster.
Humans are a dying race. Only hiding and their weapons keep them from being completely eradicated.
Probably a good thing.
Many of my kind would starve without the steady crop.
Chairs fling easily as I toss them into the fleeing crowd. More bodies tumble, but I don’t bother chasing them down.
Escape is too close.
One brave fool steps in front of me with a raised weapon.
The sting of bullets tears into me, but it only makes me charge faster towards the weapon wielder.
My arms are heavy as I swing them clumsily.
He must have hit me harder than I thought.
Shit.
A lucky strike catches him across the face, slashing deep furrows through his eye and cheek.
He’s wounded enough that he falls away.
Freedom beckons.
My paces shorten.
It hurts to breathe.
Pain begins to radiate from several places. My hip burns the worst, forcing me to drag my leg.
But I have to get out.
Luck stands with me as I push into the cool night air.
Stars.
I thought I’d never see them again.
The smell of my own blood fills my lungs, yet I can still find a trace of her tantalizing scent, leading me away from the concrete building.
If I can just get to her, I’ll be fine.
Strength fades from me as my wounds leak my vitality onto my trail.
She’s close, though. I can almost taste her.
Rounding an armored Humvee, I finally catch sight of her.
Fuck, of course she’s armed. Call me hopeful to see it hanging by her side and not pointing in my direction.
Weakly, I slump to my knees. “I did what you asked.” My fur is matted, caked with the fluids of the mess of humans I tore apart, and dripping from my own injuries.
I don’t know how much longer I can keep my eyes open.
Then her weapon raises, aimed at the bridge of my long nose.
I had a feeling she’d betray me.
