Chapter 2 #3
Pistol quirked an eyebrow. “She in his bed?”
“Certainly hope not. The King’s her brother. Comes around often enough to keep her out of any of our beds, though.”
“Two beers and two waters to get you started,” announced Max as she returned with a tray of beverages.
After she emptied it, she slid the tray onto a nearby table before plopping herself in the booth next to Nomad.
“I so wish I could be at the clubhouse when you walk in. Heard there’ll be a ride later.
If I can get out of here early, I’m totally coming. ”
“On the back of who’s hog?” asked Nomad as he reclined, casually stretching his arm across the top of the cushioned seat.
“Daddy’s,” she said easily. She then shrugged and continued, “Unless mom’s goin’—then I suppose you’ll just have to take me.”
Pistol ignored Nomad’s response as he took a swig of his beer and paused.
Glancing into the glass, he was taken aback by how refreshing it felt going down.
There was so much he took for granted before he went away.
He swallowed another gulp, then shifted his attention across the table.
Max and Nomad were still going back and forth.
It reminded him of old times just as much as it showcased what he’d been missing all these years.
It was one thing to think about it while locked up in a cell.
It was another thing entirely to see it right before his eyes.
It stirred his ache for revenge and ignited his need for vengeance.
“After all this welcome home shit,” he began, interrupting the two without apology, his eyes trained on Maxine, “I’m gonna need a favor from you.”
“Okay,” she replied, sobering a little. “Anything for you. You know that.”
He tipped his chin in acknowledgment, ignoring the careful way Nomad looked between them.
He then caught movement out of the corner of his eye.
The brunette with bangs was a couple booths over, checking in on another one of her tables.
His dick twitched, and he pressed back against the cushion behind him, leaning to the side a little to get a proper look at her.
Pistol never considered himself a fuck boy.
Given the kutte on his back, when he wanted a woman, he didn’t have to go far to find one; but he had his preferences, and he wouldn’t stick his dick just anywhere.
Now, he wasn’t sure if his mind running rampant with ideas of fucking that stranger every which way to Sunday was on account of his dick’s neglect, or if she really was as stunning as his eyes told him she was.
“That’s Lyla,” said Max, distracting him from his thoughts. “We like Lyla. Hate her brother, he’s a douche, but she’s cool. She’ll be at the clubhouse later. Told her there was gonna be a huge party tonight and she had to be there.”
He glanced across the table and demanded, “Introduce me.”
Max grinned, peeked back over her shoulder, then replied, “Be right back.” She stood, turned, took a step, then turned back.
“By the way, it’s her birthday, and I’m not sure she’s thrilled about it.
Like, our girl chopped all her hair off the other day.
It’s so damn adorable, but still, I think this particular birthday has got her freaked. Be extra nice, okay?”
Pistol raised an eyebrow. “Don’t bite, babe.”
“Right. Yeah. Okay. One sec.”
She turned, headed in Lyla’s direction, and Pistol watched as he took another swig of beer.
He saw it when Max hooked her thumb over her shoulder, and he caught Lyla’s eyes as she looked right at him.
When she didn’t shift her gaze away from his but met his stare with a confident curiosity all her own, he knew then who would be in his bed that night.
She’s a fuckin’ knockout, he thought as she followed Max to their table.
Up close, he wasn’t shy about taking in her details.
Her slender neck. Her decent rack. Her narrow waist and flared hips.
“Lyla, this is Pistol, the Stallion I was telling you about earlier. Pistol, this is Lyla.”
“Hey,” she said in greeting.
He tilted his head back at her in reply. “Heard you’ll be around tonight.”
“That’s the plan.”
“Good to know. Guess I’ll see you around.”
Rather than get put off by their short exchange, she seemed unbothered as she nodded and turned to leave. “Guess you will.”
He let her take a few steps before he called out, “Hey,” earning her attention once more. When their eyes met, he winked and muttered, “Happy birthday.”
The smile he got in return had him half hard again.
“Thanks,” she murmured.
He watched her walk away, enjoying the view and all the promise held therein.
“I’m gonna go check on your burgers,” said Maxine, laughter wrapped around her tone. She then playfully grazed her finger down the side of his bearded chin and added, “Careful. Got a little drool there.”
Nomad chuckled into his beer, sending Max into a giggling fit as she headed for the kitchen. Pistol ignored them both, too busy thinking about all the trouble he planned on getting into later with that blue-eyed beauty.
