Chapter 34 Nathan Sinclair
It seemed that because it had been looked down upon by Kendall, the system, transformed into a ball of light, came up to Kendall and said ingratiatingly.
> [Host, the items in the store refresh every day at 6 a.m.]
Kendall took the opportunity to ask, "Are the items different every day?"
> [Yes!]
The system nodded repeatedly.
Hearing this from the system, Kendall suddenly realized that the system store wasn't so poor after all. Her karma weren't even enough to buy a small piece of Einstein's Wisdom. It wasn't the system that was poor, it was her.
Kendall moved her gaze away from the long string of zeros. She couldn't afford the first item, so she could only buy the second and third ones.
Kendall preferred the second one, System Backpack 3. When she came out this time, she had purposefully not brought the pan and the charm with her, fearing that they would be taken.
If she had this item, she could have put the pan and the charm in them beforehand and taken them out when she needed them. Or, even if she didn't put the pan and the charm in them, she could have put other things she needed in them.
As for the third item, An Eye for an Eye, Kendall thought it was pretty good, too. The name alone sounded very refreshing. It wasn't an eye for an eye, it was a fruit of justice! A fruit of judgment!
However, it wasn't something Kendall needed right now, and she only had 413 karma, so she didn't have a big budget.
The items that appeared in the system store were different every day, so Kendall planned to save the remaining karma and see if there would be other things she needed more in the future.
"System, I want to buy the System Backpacks," Kendall said.
> [Okay, the price for System Backpack 3 is 300 karma. Are you sure you want to buy it?]
"Yes."
> [Congratulations, Host, you have received System Backpack 3!]
On the large golden screen, a new section appeared in the system store, called items page. If Kendall were to click on it, she would find three empty slots where she could choose to store or retrieve items, which was very convenient.
While Kendall was talking to the system, the police car was driving steadily. The police cars were split into two teams. One team escorted Kendall and the others back to the police station, and the other team escorted the ambulance back to the hospital.
As a victim and a key person in the case, the first thing Kendall did when she arrived at the police station was look for the things that Helen had taken from her yesterday.
A female police officer came over and handed her a backpack. She said, "We found this with Helen. She said everything is in it. We didn't know what you had, so we didn't open it. You can check it."
"Okay." Kendall took the backpack, unzipped it, and checked.
She found that her phone, tablet, and camera were all inside, not one was missing.
Kendall nodded. "Thank you, officer. All my things are here."
The officer smiled faintly. "You're welcome. This is what we're supposed to do."
Just as they were talking, they heard crying and shouting behind them. They turned around and saw that the parents of the girls Kendall had rescued had arrived.
After receiving the call from the police, almost all the parents haphazardly drove to the police station.
They hugged their daughters, who they had thought were lost, and cried, releasing the despair and fear they had felt over the past few days.
Even if they were crying, they were crying tears of joy!
Kendall looked away, said goodbye to the female officer, and turned to walk out.
The joyous reunion of the girls and their families in the lobby formed a sharp contrast with her lonely and thin figure.
On one side were treasures that had been found again, and on the other was a weed that no one cared about.
For some reason, the officer standing there felt a pang of sympathy for Kendall's lone figure.
Kendall didn't know that someone felt sorry for her solitary figure. After leaving the police station, she took a taxi to a nearby five-star hotel, got a king-sized room, showered, ate, and went to sleep.
She had been up all night and had been in a state of high tension. If she hadn't been young, her body would have given out a long time ago.
While Kendall was sleeping, the hashtag #MikeVlogKidnapping had already become a top trend. Even though Mike himself later said that the situation wasn't what the netizens had thought, it couldn't stop the rumours from spreading.
Kendall woke up in the evening. She had come out this time to complete the human trafficking mission, and now that the criminals were caught, her mission was completed.
The 20 days of life from the consecutive missions were added to her life span.
Looking at the 30 days she had left, Kendall happily rolled around on the bed.
If it were anyone else, they would be terrified to know they only had a month left to live.
But for Kendall, these 30 days were a result of her hard work, and she couldn't be more satisfied.
In the evening, Kendall left the hotel and went for a walk. With a month of life, she wasn't in a rush to complete her missions anymore.
The length of one's life was limited and hard to control, but the quality of life was something she could decide for herself.
After completing the mission, Kendall was like a normal tourist, leisurely exploring the city, visiting local attractions, and eating local specialties.
Although Kendall had come to this city to catch traffickers, aside from those three bad apples, the city was full of good people. After two days of fun, Kendall took the high-speed train back to the capital city, Orapolis.

Inside the magnificent Sinclair family villa, Mr. Normand Sinclair returned from outside in a suit. He put down his briefcase, hugged his wife, Mrs. Victoria Sinclair, affectionately, and looked around the living room.
When he didn't see his youngest son in front of the window, he asked in a low voice, "Nathan went out again?"
"Yes, I just called Assistant Miller. He's at that hotel on Golden Avenue again."
When she talked about this, Victoria's well-maintained and beautiful face looked a little worried.
Ever since Nathan had an accident in the hotel elevator a few days ago, he would go to the elevator of that hotel every evening and wait for hours, like he was waiting for a mushroom to grow.
No one could get him to leave. If the hotel wasn't owned by the Sinclair Group, they would have kicked Nathan out a long time ago.
Thinking of this, Victoria couldn't help but glare at her husband.
If he hadn't taken Nathan to that business event or at least kept a close eye on him, how could he have run into the elevator by himself and gotten into an accident?
Nathan was already different from others. He usually listened to his older brother, Neil Sinclair. This time, even Neil couldn't convince him to come back.
