Chapter 42 Martial Arts Sparring Partner

The moment the photo was taken, Kendall had barely stepped out of the Orapolis Police Department before she found that the official account of Orapolis Police Department had already posted the picture online.

The police department's official TikTok account originally only had 30,000 followers, but after several times trending because of Kendall's actions, its followers had soared to over 500,000 in just a few days.

The post was about Kendall receiving the title of 'Courageous Citizen' and the certificate of honour. Knowing that Kendall intended to protect her privacy, they did not write her real name, but instead used the name familiar to netizens, Miss Terminal Illness.

As soon as the post updated, fans who were scrolling through their phones immediately saw it.

At first, everyone didn't pay much attention, but when they read the post, clicked on the picture, and saw that the person in the center was indeed Miss Terminal Illness, completely covered up with a hat and a mask, the comments section instantly erupted:

user @MeowMeowIsNotHungry: "Ahhh! Screaming! This is the follow-up I earned with my blood, sweat and tears!"

user @GreenLeaf: "Hahahaha, the Orapolis Police are too awesome! The title of 'Courageous Citizen' is well-deserved for Miss Terminal Illness!"

user @ADropOfDew: "Judging from the photos, Miss Terminal Illness looks to be in good spirits this time. Her gaze is firm and she has a strong energy about her. Much better than when she appeared on camera before."

user @NeedBreadAndCake: "Claps! Good people are rewarded with good things. I hope the young lady stays healthy and everything goes well for her."

user @ColdAsIce: "I suddenly remembered the kidnapping case from a few days ago. If Miss Terminal Illness had been there, with her decisiveness, she definitely would have caught the suspect on the spot!"

user @RichBitch replied to @ColdAsIce: "Are you talking about the Mike live stream incident?"

user @ColdAsIce replied to @RichBitch: "Yes!"

user @Wildflower replied to @ColdAsIce: "Didn't Mike immediately go live later to clarify that things weren't as we imagined and it wasn't a kidnapping?"

user @ColdAsIce replied to @Wildflower: "Haha, not a kidnapping? Did you watch the recorded live stream? Those were two grown men tied to the roof of a van with ropes! And they say it wasn't a kidnapping! Are they messing with me?"

user @MikeIsMine: "Exactly! I agree with @ColdAsIce! Mike filmed it clearly during his live stream that day! Those two people were tied to the roof of a small van, unconscious, and their fate was unknown!"

user @MikeIsMine: "Although Mike responded later in the live stream, asking everyone not to overthink it, his expression and way of speaking were unnatural when he held that live stream, almost as if he was being forced.

And this matter has been trending for days without any official response!

Some powerful forces are treating us like fools! "

user @HotWater: "Holy cow! There's still no official announcement about this? Didn't people call the police? Not only did Mike's assistant call the police, but so did many netizens."

user @TropicalHawaii: "No outcome yet. Haven't you heard the saying?

Wicked people live in poor, difficult places.

Mike is from that mountainous region, right?

That place has been a poor village area since the founding of the nation and hasn't escaped poverty in a hundred years.

The local criminal elements are especially rampant, and even the officers can't control them.

I wonder if the two people tied to the roof are even alive? "

user @HopeMyClassmateComesLastNextTest: "No way! Are there still such criminal elements these days? This is a society ruled by law!"

user @DumboIsHere: "All I can say is, my young friend, you are too naive.

There are many things in this society you can't imagine.

There is definitely something strange about the Mike live stream incident.

The topic was trending for a whole day and no official response was given, and when Mike later clarified, he seemed constrained.

He kept telling netizens not to overthink it or boost the topic's popularity.

Who would believe he wasn't being forced? "

The comments section gradually began to get sidetracked.

Regarding the two adult men being tied to the roof of a small van that was accidentally filmed during Mike's live stream a few days ago, some netizens believed Mike's later clarification video, thinking the situation wasn't what they had previously suspected.

However, many netizens firmly believed it was a kidnapping case, but Mike was threatened and therefore afraid to tell the truth.

In the end, everyone left comments wishing Miss Terminal Illness had been there that day.

With her 'act-first, talk-later' style, she would have certainly intercepted the small van on the spot and revealed the truth to everyone.

However, the Miss Terminal Illness they wished for was not very active online, so she was destined to not see these comments.

After leaving the police station, Kendall drove to the Orapolis White Cross Charity.

She parked her car and got out with her belongings.

Kendall donated the bonus money and the large check she received today, specifically designating the funds for educational expenses to build primary schools in impoverished mountainous areas.

Coming out of the White Cross Charity, she saw it was still early.

Remembering that she had wanted to find a sparring partner, Kendall took out her phone and began searching for martial arts gyms near her neighbourhood.

She actually found a few. Kendall followed the navigation, visiting them one by one, and then found one martial arts gym that seemed to meet her requirements.

Most importantly, this gym had sparring partners, and Kendall was interested in one of the female combat fighters with a very high rank, Maggie.

Maggie immediately stopped what she was doing in the training room and walked out when a colleague told her a guest had chosen her as a sparring partner. Her gaze fell on the slender girl standing next to her colleague. "You want me to be your sparring partner?"

"Yes, please. Is that possible?" Kendall nodded. She had already asked the owner, who said it was fine as long as Maggie agreed. Maggie looked Kendall up and down, then made a 'come here' gesture to Kendall. "Let's spar a little."

Maggie was a former professional fighter for the national team who had retired. She was a Black Belt instructor and a highly paid teaching coach hired by the martial arts gym. If Kendall had no foundation or a shallow one, Maggie didn't want to play pretend with her.

Kendall was dressed casually today, perfect for exercise. Kendall smiled, taking her phone and keys out of her pocket and placing them aside. "Yes, I'd be honoured."

It had been a long time since she had fought a professional. Kendall did a quick warm-up and then followed Maggie onto the platform.

Maggie rotated her wrists and made an attacking gesture toward Kendall. "Come on!"

The two circled each other tentatively. Kendall launched the first attack with a swift and beautiful flying kick aimed directly at Maggie's head.

Maggie reacted quickly, crossing her arms in front of her to block Kendall's kick.

Her arms were numb from the shock. Maggie's expression tensed, the force of her opponent was incredibly strong!

And judging by Kendall's movements from circling to executing the kick, fast, powerful, clean, and forceful. She was an expert!

After retracting her leg, Kendall struck at Maggie with her hand. As Maggie dodged backward, Kendall seized the opportunity to grab Maggie's arm.

Maggie pushed her hand away, and the two instantly switched positions. Kendall then suddenly spun back with a single-leg sweep. Maggie was quick and agile, gracefully avoiding the strike. Maggie's expression gradually became serious.

The two on the platform fought fiercely, and the other people in the martial arts gym were gradually drawn over to watch. After more than ten minutes, Maggie's palm strike pushed Kendall back a few steps, causing her to sit on the floor.

Kendall waved her hand. "That's enough. I won't continue. You win." The audience, who had just watched an exciting match for free, immediately broke into loud applause.

Maggie, drenched in sweat, panted as she stepped forward and extended her hand to Kendall, wanting to pull her up from the ground. Kendall looked up, smiling, and asked, "Well? Can you be my sparring partner?"

"I can't teach you," Maggie replied. The girl in front of her had far exceeded her expectations. Maggie was thirty years old, but the girl in front of her looked only twenty or twenty-one. If they continued fighting, Maggie wasn't sure she would win.

Kendall shook her head. "You don't need to teach me. I don't need a coach, I need a sparring partner." She was drenched in sweat, and her once fair and dry face was now flushed. If her old mentor knew she was taking on random masters, he would surely skin her!

Maggie nodded. "I can do that."
