Chapter 46 A Chance Encounter

The next day, Kendall tidied herself up a bit and stepped out with a light pace.

The information provided by the system indicated that Ali was a graduate student at Oakhaven University, so Kendall decided to check out the campus.

Kendall's own alma mater was Crestwood University, and Oakhaven University was only two streets away, so Kendall had a rough idea of its location.

With her car, getting around was easy, she floored the gas pedal and arrived at Oakhaven University shortly.

Like Crestwood University, Oakhaven University was open to the public. Not only could students move freely, but outside visitors could also enter the campus to look around.

Kendall parked her car outside, quickly registered her personal information with the security guard, and then went inside.

Oakhaven University was a top-tier university with a good reputation, though its campus size was slightly smaller than Crestwood University.

Kendall was dressed in her usual sporty style, loose grey utility pants made her legs look long and straight. She wore a hat and a cross-body bag, with a bare face, looking very much like a vibrant young college student.

The system gave Kendall the location of Ali's residence, the Oakhaven University graduate dormitory. Of course, Kendall couldn't just walk straight into the dorm to catch him. She strolled through the campus with her bag, like a visitor sightseeing, and slowly walked around the entire campus.

"Kendall?"

A hesitant, deep male voice sounded from behind. Kendall turned her head and immediately saw Neil standing not far behind her. Neil was wearing a sharp black suit, his posture straight, and his demeanor exceptional.

Beside him stood several other men in suits with beer bellies and receding hairlines, who looked to be of high status.

Seeing Kendall turn around, Neil said something to his companions, then strode toward Kendall. Judging by Neil's attire, he was clearly out on serious business, and Kendall hadn't expected him to specifically walk over after they had acknowledged each other.

Kendall had met Nathan's older brother once before and had even shared a meal with him, but they hadn't really spoken throughout.

Kendall was slightly unsure how to address him, but before she could hesitate long, Neil had already covered the distance with his long legs and stood before her.

Neil looked natural, his cold, handsome face bearing a hint of warmth. "I didn't expect it was really you. Are you here visiting a friend?"

"No, just passing by." Kendall shook her head, directly skipping the formality of addressing him. "What a coincidence!"

Neil proactively started a conversation.

"I came to Oakhaven University today to invest in the university's computer and electromechanical facilities.

I just finished touring the campus with a few university leaders, and I feel like I've seen enough.

Where are you planning to go next? If you don't have friends here, do you mind having two more companions? "

"Two?" Kendall turned her head, Nathan's beautiful face instantly flashing in her mind, and she instinctively glanced behind Neil.

Noticing Kendall's gaze, Neil seemed to smile and volunteered, "Nathan is here too, but he refused to get out of the car, so I left the security guard with him."

Since Kendall's visit to the Sinclair family villa that day, Nathan had stopped camping out by the hotel elevator.

However, before the Sinclair family could breathe a sigh of relief, they noticed that Nathan, despite not leaving the house, reverted to his old ways, showing no interest in the outside world.

Even when Neil called him out several times, he just covered his ears and pretended not to hear.

The only reason Nathan agreed to come out today was because Neil had coaxed him, as Nathan liked computers and mathematics, and Oakhaven University's most famous specialties were computer science, mathematics, and electromechanics.

Neil had previously bought some experimental materials from Oakhaven University for Nathan to play with. Nathan immediately disassembled the items and, within a few days, created a new robot.

Neil spotted a business opportunity in this, established a subsidiary company, and in collaboration with Oakhaven University, released a new line of smart robots designed by Nathan, which yielded a significant profit.

This time, Neil came to Oakhaven University not just to invest, but mainly to discuss the next steps of cooperation. He brought Nathan along because Neil wanted to take Nathan to visit the research lab, hoping he might meet new friends in his area of interest.

However, Nathan clearly had no such intention. Since getting into the car, Nathan had kept his lips pressed together, looking tense, every strand of hair on his head expressing his reluctance to leave the house. Getting him to leave took all the efforts, getting him out of the car was impossible.

Neil hadn't expected to run into Kendall at Oakhaven University today. If Nathan saw Kendall, he would surely be delighted, and it might even reduce his resistance to going out.

Neil looked at Kendall, waiting sincerely and expectantly for her answer.

"Yes, I'd like that." Kendall nodded. "I'm alone too, so having company won't be too boring."

Hearing Kendall agree, Neil immediately turned and walked toward the parking lot. "I'll take you to find Nathan."

Kendall followed behind Neil and casually asked, "He hasn't gone back to the hotel, has he?"

"No, he hasn't. Thank you for your patient guidance with Nathan," Neil replied politely. "What do you want for lunch? I'll treat you later."
