Chapter 64 Will Help Hit Someone

Kendall didn't have time to think. She raised the broom high and charged directly at the man in the black clothing.

Although the man in white appeared to be alive, too much blood was pouring from his wounds, there was no time to delay. The more violently he struggled, the faster his blood loss would be. Kendall knew that speed was essential.

The raised broom landed heavily on the man in black. The man cried out in pain, his stabbing motion slightly interrupted. He turned back unhappily, his sinister gaze falling upon Kendall, and snarled. "Get lost! Or I'll stab you too!"

He thought this would scare Kendall away, after all, she looked delicate and petite, like a college student who hadn't stepped into society yet. However, after he spoke, Kendall moved both hands, swinging the bamboo broom to lash him across the face.

Several red marks instantly appeared on Kamal's dark skin, making his already gloomy and vicious expression even more murderous. Kendall completely ignored the malice on his face, simply swinging the broomstick, striking Kamal repeatedly.

The broom was made of bamboo branches, dozens of branches of similar length were dried and tightly bound together with wire. No matter how much force Kendall exerted, the slender tips of the bamboo didn't cause significant damage, but the minute, sharp stinging sensations were impossible to ignore.

Kamal finally lost his temper, cursing loudly to vent his resentment.

He let go of the man in white he had been pressing down on and rose to glare at Kendall.

His build was tall and robust. He reached out and grabbed the broom Kendall swung at him.

His other hand, tightly gripping the fruit knife, turned to stab Kendall!

Kendall had planned to sidestep the attack and deliver a heavy kick to Kamal. But just as Kamal's fruit knife was about to reach her, Kendall saw a figure flash behind Kamal.

Bang!

Kamal suddenly cried out, releasing his grip on both the broom and the fruit knife. Kamal collapsed, clutching his head and wailing in agony.

Kendall looked over and realized that Nathan, whom she thought was obediently waiting for her downstairs, had followed her up. In Nathan's hands, he was holding a long iron shovel.

Nathan had just used that shovel to strike Kamal on the head from behind. Judging by the loud impact, the force Nathan used must have been considerable.

Looking at Kamal writhing on the ground, clutching his head and howling, and remembering the loud noise, Kendall felt a twinge of pain in her teeth and even worried that the heavy blow might have scrambled his brains.

Nathan, who had delivered the blow, didn't appear concerned. After Kamal fell to the ground, Nathan had no intention of letting him go.

With a cold expression, Nathan continued to swing the iron shovel down onto Kamal's body. Kamal clutched his head and rolled around in pain on the ground.

"Stop, stop, that's enough, that's enough." Seeing this, Kendall quickly stepped forward and took the shovel from Nathan's hand.

The shovel was long. Kendall gripped it, shielding Nathan behind her, and then used it to push the blood-stained fruit knife Kamal dropped far away.

Just then, the temple's abbot, having heard the commotion, arrived with some people. Seeing the attacker subdued by Kendall and Nathan, the abbot sighed in relief.

However, when he saw the pool of blood and the man and woman lying on the ground, the abbot's recently calmed heart instantly tightened again.

Kendall looked at the abbot and asked plainly. "Did someone call the police?"

The abbot's voice was unsteady. "S-someone already called the police."

Kendall nodded. Although the abbot was a monk, it didn't mean he was clueless. Seeing Kendall subdue the attacker, the abbot immediately had people bring some ropes and firmly tied Kamal's hands and feet. This was a criminal case that happened on his property, he couldn't let the killer escape!

As for the man in white and the woman lying on the ground, others also came forward, but they only helped staunch the bleeding, afraid to move them unnecessarily.

> [Congratulations, Host mission complete. Reward: +3 days of life value and +10 karma.]

With the mission complete and no further need for her help, Kendall put down the shovel and quietly led Nathan away.

Kendall hadn't forgotten Nathan's actions, and a shiver of fear ran through her.

She couldn't help but scold him. "Are you crazy?

I clearly told you to wait for me downstairs, but you stupidly followed me.

Luckily you were smart enough to grab a shovel as a weapon, and your timing was perfect, otherwise. .."

Kendall didn't want to think about the consequences of what might have happened. She could only tell him sternly. "Don't do that again." Nathan left with her unscathed, but if something bad had happened to him... that was something Kendall absolutely didn't want to see.

Nathan was a head taller than Kendall. Now, he kept his head down, like a clumsy penguin, letting Kendall lead him. His gaze was pure, making him look innocent and harmless, completely devoid of the ferocity he had shown while hitting the man with the shovel just moments ago.

But after fully understanding the meaning of Kendall's words, Nathan pursed his lips, wearing an expression that seemed to say 'I'm not listening to your lecturing'.

Kendall spoke while watching him. Noticing Nathan's look of disapproval, Kendall couldn't help but laugh. "What's wrong? You don't agree?"

Nathan quickly countered. "He bullied Kendall, and Nathan won't allow it!"

Kendall had been intentionally and unintentionally guiding him to speak during their meetings, and Nathan enjoyed responding to Kendall. As a result, his sentences were getting longer.

Kendall's heart skipped a beat, but she asked casually, "What if I was the one who hit him first?"

Nathan answered without thinking, "He's bad, he deserved to be hit."

Despite being someone who struggled with communication, his speaking speed didn't slow down at all when defending Kendall.

Kendall tested him, "Next time I hit someone, will you still help me?"

"Help!" Nathan nodded eagerly, his eyes sparkling.

Kendall: "..."

Well, it seemed everything she had just told him was pointless.

Kendall sent a message to Victoria, telling her what had happened. Victoria was likely busy and didn't reply immediately.

Kendall thought about it and tentatively sent a message to Neil. Neil replied quickly, so Kendall called him and recounted the events that had just taken place.

Neil sat in his office, listening until Kendall finished speaking, before raising an eyebrow slightly and asking in a deep voice, "You said Nathan hit someone?"

Kendall: "..."

"He didn't exactly hit someone, he was helping to catch a criminal," Kendall couldn't help but correct Neil's phrasing.

She involuntarily looked down at her phone. She had explained things quite thoroughly and clearly, so how did Neil misunderstand?

Kendall explained the situation again. This time, Neil understood and reacted with concern: "Neither of you were hurt, were you?"

"No."

Neil confirmed again, "The mountain you climbed today was Cloudcrown Mountain?"

"Mhm, mhm."

"Good, I understand. I'll arrange for someone to delete the surveillance footage," Neil said, his tone finally showing a touch of brotherly care.

"Kendall, thank you for taking Nathan out."

Kendall offered no denial. After ending the call with Neil, Kendall put her phone back in her bag and descended the mountain with Nathan. Since Nathan only encountered this incident because she took him out, it was only right for her to call the Sinclair family to inform them.

After reaching the base of the mountain, Kendall took Nathan to eat Japanese cuisine. After they finished, Kendall didn't immediately send him back to the Sinclair family villa. Instead, she drove Nathan around the coastal highway before finally taking him home.

———

While the two were eating and relaxing, Neil had already contacted the police, gotten a clear understanding of what happened at Cloudcrown Temple today, and secured the only copy of the surveillance footage from the mountain. Any other backups were deleted at Neil's request.

The Sinclair family was always very protective of Nathan. Although the police suggested applying for a Good Samaritan award for Nathan and Kendall, Neil did not want the video to circulate and be seen by others, fearing malicious editing.

Neil watched the surveillance footage himself first before sending the clip to the [Loving Family] group chat.

Neil: "Little brother is growing up, he knows how to fight now. [beautiful cat content.jpg]"

Victoria: "So this is what Kendall was just telling me about. Look, Nathan is actually willing to help people now!"

Normand: "Not bad. He has the demeanor I had when I was young."

Victoria: "Ever since he met Kendall, Nathan seems to be acting normally. Is there any way to get him to spend more time with Kendall?"

Neil: "I signed a contract with an entertainment company a few days ago. When I was inputting the information this afternoon, I saw that Kendall is a guest on that variety show."

Victoria: "Which show? Are you planning to send your brother to a variety show too?"

———

Meanwhile, Kendall, who was routinely taking the stairs home, stepped out of the stairwell and spotted a figure standing outside her apartment door, seemingly waiting for an unknown amount of time.
