Chapter 68 Strength Pill
Olivia's left hand was cuffed, unable to move. She had seen James carelessly leave the key on the nearby dressing table, so she indicated with red eyes. "The key is on the dressing table."
Kendall's gaze fell, and sure enough, she saw a gleaming key on the dressing table. She took the key and unlocked the handcuff.
James watched menacingly from the side, like a poisonous snake in a gutter waiting to strike. Seeing Kendall squatting to unlock the handcuffs for Olivia, he suddenly stood up, grabbed the whip from the floor, and lashed out at Kendall.
In James's imagination, no matter how strong Kendall was, she was a normal person with five senses.
His leather whip was custom-made, bearing tiny, dense barbs that would tear the surface of the skin and cause a burning, stinging pain when whipped.
James didn't believe Kendall could endure that kind of pain!
He used nearly all his strength to swing the whip at Kendall.
Olivia widened her eyes in terror, tears streaming down her face, frozen in place by fear.
Seeing the swift, thin whip, Kendall quickly sat back, leaning her upper body backward, while simultaneously raising her other hand to catch the whip as it passed her face.
A dense, prickly pain shot through her palm.
Kendall lowered her head, realizing that the whip was far from as simple as it looked on the surface.
James hadn't expected Kendall to dare to grab the whip bare-handed. A normal reaction would be to instinctively dodge when a whip comes toward you, right?!
Why did she just raise her hand and grab it!
And why was her grip so tight!
Didn't her palm hurt when the whip struck her?
James's expression darkened. He yanked hard, but the other end of the whip remained firmly in Kendall's grip, unmoving.
"You hurt my hand," Kendall stood up from the floor.
Although the tone of her voice was completely flat, and there was no hint of anger on her face, James faintly sensed an impending storm of crisis emanating from her!
James's heart tightened. He secretly pulled on the whip, but couldn't snatch it away. Kendall, still holding the other end of the whip, abruptly thrust it forward, and then sharply yanked it back!
With the sudden release and tightening, the whip flew out of James's hand and into Kendall's.
Now with the whip, Kendall gripped the handle. Before James could speak, she raised the whip and swiftly lashed it out. Kendall's strength was, naturally, formidable. James was lashed until his skin split open, howling in pain.
Hearing the uncontrollable screams coming from him, Kendall frowned and stopped after just one lash.
Olivia unlocked her handcuffs and stood aside, looking at Kendall with envy. If she had Kendall's strength and skill, how could James have bullied her like this?
Kendall noticed Olivia's envious gaze, and a thought suddenly flashed through her mind. Gripping the whip, Kendall mouthed a few words to Olivia. Olivia understood. Clinging tightly to the blanket, she told James, "James, I want a divorce from you!"
"Divorce? I don't agree." James, wary of the whip in Kendall's hand, stood on the other side and sneered, "Olivia, give up. I will never agree to divorce you."
Olivia bit her lip, filled with anger and hatred for James, but she was helpless against him. She once again hated her powerlessness.
At this point, James also knew who Kendall was.
He recognized Kendall as the girl who lived next door, the same girl whose angry shout had forced him to stop his abuse of Olivia midway last time.
Tonight, he had made thorough preparations, restraining Olivia's movement and covering her mouth, making sure no unusual noise was made, yet Kendall still managed to ruin everything!
James's eyes held a momentary gloom, but he quickly became smug again. This was his home. Kendall couldn't possibly stay here twenty-four hours a day. Once Kendall left, the powerless Olivia would be just as easily controlled as before!
Olivia clearly realized this too. Watching James, who refused to divorce and was subtly showing his true rogue nature, Olivia's body, wrapped in the blanket, trembled slightly.
Just then, Kendall's voice came to her ear. "Mrs. Olivia, come out with me for a moment. I have something to tell you."
For Olivia, being near Kendall was the safest place. Forget just leaving the room with Kendall, Olivia yearned to follow Kendall straight to her apartment!
Olivia couldn't stand being in this terrifying, hellish place for another minute!
Watching the two women leave the room, James thought Kendall was leaving.
He stood in place, somewhat happily watching them walk out the door.
Considering everything that happened tonight, even if he called the police to get Kendall arrested, it wouldn't benefit him.
If Kendall was sensible and left soon, he might let her off the hook.
Olivia followed Kendall out of the bedroom, her face pale as if she had lost a loved one. Olivia spoke hesitantly. "Little Kendall..."
"Mrs. Olivia." Kendall turned around, pretending to take a pill out of her pocket, but actually retrieved it from the items page. This was a strength pill Kendall had purchased from the system store two days ago.
A person who consumes it gains immense strength for a short period. The effect lasts for half a month. The pill was coated in a candy shell. Kendall peeled off the shell and handed the pill to Olivia. "Here's a piece of candy for you."
Olivia didn't want candy right now. She subconsciously wanted to refuse.
"Thank you, but you should have it. I don't feel like eating anything right now."
"Mrs. Olivia, maybe if you eat a piece of candy, you won't feel so bad." Kendall said gently. Olivia stared at the crystal clear candy, and an inexplicable desire to eat it arose within her. Before Olivia could react, she had already reached out, taken the candy from Kendall's hand, and eaten it.
The moment the candy entered her mouth, it felt unlike any candy Olivia had ever tasted.
It was neither soft nor hard, dissolving instantly into a liquid that flowed down her throat.
Olivia was generally frail, but after consuming the candy, an unprecedented sense of vitality surged through her limbs.
Olivia looked confused, moving her body slightly.
Kendall asked her, "What do you feel?"
"I, I don't know how to describe it..." Olivia was clearly still trying to process what had happened.
Kendall picked up something from a nearby shelf and tossed it to Olivia, saying, "Catch!"
Olivia was still immersed in the comfortable, energized state. Hearing Kendall's words, she instinctively reached out and caught the object thrown at her.
After clearly seeing what was in her hands, Olivia was stunned. "How is this possible?!"
