Chapter 26
MORRIGAN
That string that pulled us to each other had now lit on fire, and it stung in the most pleasurable way.
I traced the markings on Tristan’s chest with my fingers, leaving no spot untouched as I admired his body.
I didn’t pay any mind to the way his touch raked over mine as well.
Leaning down, I began planting kisses along his skin, barely touching his chest with my lips.
I felt his hands tighten their grasp on my hips, and it sent a jolt of heat straight to my core.
Slowly, I trailed my lips down until I reached his navel, and he shuddered a little.
I stole a peek at his face, noticing he had propped himself onto his elbows as he watched me.
A blush rose to my cheeks, and my confidence dimmed just a little.
“I’ve… never done this before,” I whispered, “but I want to.”
I had seen women on their knees at the masquerade.
They were using their mouths to pleasure the men that had escorted them.
I knew of the act, but I hadn’t actually tried it yet.
It truthfully didn’t look that enticing before.
However, with the way Tristan’s throat bobbed as he watched me, I felt a sharp pulse between my thighs.
I didn’t want him to stop looking at me like that… ever.
“I’ll guide you,” he assured me. Placing a hand on my cheek, he caressed it in such an intimate way; it may have been the most arousing sensation I had ever felt. Then, he pressed his thumb into my bottom lip. “Open up.”
Nervously, I opened my mouth for him, and he moved his thumb to my tongue.
Tristan looked dazed. His eyes lowered slightly as he stared at me.
I didn’t know why I did what I did next, but I wrapped my lips around his thumb—like I’d seen those women do.
With my tongue, I licked around it and sucked, watching his facial features tense in response.
… like a fucking dream…
As I caught the tail end of his thought, I realized it may not have been meant for me to hear. But it made me smile nonetheless, and Tristan rolled his eyes in response.
Quickly, he shifted himself up a little, positioning me directly between his thighs.
After pulling his thumb out of my mouth, he moved his hand to my hair and wrapped his fingers into my curls, smoothing it out of my face.
“Move at your own pace,” he instructed, and nerves blossomed like butterflies in my stomach.
After taking a long breath, I positioned his already-hardened length against my lips.
It gave me an odd sense of control, and our tether blazed from our skin touching for so long.
It drew me to him, and I opened my mouth, tasting him for the first time.
I let him slide against my tongue, and Tristan’s groan made the pulse between my thighs turn into an aching throb as he kept a firm grip on my hair.
Once I lowered my head far enough, the back of my throat flexed in a gag, and Tristan’s body practically fell back into the bed.
“Gods, Morrigan… I take back what I said. I’m not going to last very long with your mouth on me like that…”
The praise behind that statement made me giddy inside, and I pulled my head back, sucking and licking, continuing the movements until I found a steady rhythm.
I didn’t know how, but I lost myself within it—the taste of him.
You would think that he’d taste of skin and sweat, but to me, he tasted of everything my body needed and craved.
That cord between us hummed in my chest, and my body was on fire.
I was supposed to be here… with him. I didn’t know how I knew that, but I did.
The stars led us here—a fate somehow written before either of us were even born.
“Fuck,” Tristan cursed under his breath as I licked up his shaft. “That feels so good.”
I couldn’t stop the tiny moan that left my throat, vibrating around him, and I found my hips rising in the air, begging for some kind of touch.
Suddenly, the air around us thickened, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Tristan eyeing me curiously. Along his chest, the markings began to pour out their darkness—thick shadows, and mist that slid down his skin like black vines. My heart fluttered as I felt something touch my ankles.
When I moved to lift my head from Tristan, his fingers gripped me tighter, making my scalp burn a little as he brought me back to his length. The strange sensation slid up my calves, lightly caressing my thighs, and I sucked in a breath as I released Tristan from my mouth.
The shadows paused, frozen still, and I could feel the wetness between my thighs from the anticipation alone.
“Do you trust me?” he asked, his voice shaky and filled with desire. Even his cheeks were red now. But even as he held my head in place, there was such tenderness to his touch.
“Yes.”
As his eyes watched mine, one of Tristan’s shadows slid against me, pushing against my slick center, and I slumped against his hold. The misty vines kept my hips up, and Tristan’s hand still held my head. With his other hand, he caressed my cheek. “I can feel it, you know… Everything they touch…”
Another one of his shadows moved around my inner thigh, slowly creeping to my entrance, and a needy whimper slipped between my lips.
“Are you that wet for me, Morrigan?” he asked. Even his voice had deepened, filled with the same ache that had my chest tightening into a ball. “Open your mouth again.”
I mindlessly followed him, parting my lips just as he pressed the tip of his length against me.
Once he slid across my tongue, I felt the tendril of darkness slide inside of me.
My moan came out muffled and silenced as he moved my head up and down, taking over for me as he pleasured me with his shadows.
I didn’t understand what I was feeling. They weren’t… solid, but I could feel them inside me. They teased my center, sliding along the sensitive bundle of nerves and causing my legs to tremble.
Tristan cursed again, his hips rising to meet my mouth with each thrust. “Does that feel good, Morrigan? Getting fucked by my shadows?”
The dirty words spewing from his mouth gave my body a rush of euphoria, and the misty vines moved faster, pushing deeper… I couldn’t last any longer.
I’m… I’m going to… I couldn’t even form my thoughts properly.
“Come for me, Morrigan,” he panted. “I want you covered in my darkness.”
I was thrown overboard, my body exploding with so much pleasure that I wanted to scream. And as I finished, I felt warm liquid spurt onto my tongue. My eyes went wide for a moment.
“Shit! I’m sorry. I couldn’t… I felt you tighten around me and I…”
Ignoring his worried apologies, I tipped my head back and swallowed before licking my lips for any drops that had fallen. Tristan eyed me with wonder, and his mouth parted as I moved up his body, shivering a little when his shadows slid out of me.
“You’re so fucking beautiful,” he whispered, brushing his hand across my cheek and pulling me to his lips.
He kissed me feverishly, like his very life depended on it. And I was convinced that, if he released me, I might have actually died.
“I need you,” I whimpered into his lips. “I need more.”
Dropping his hands to my thighs, he dug his fingers so deep into my skin that the pain made me hiss. Then, he twisted us, repositioning our bodies so that he was on top. I almost whined when he removed his lips, but his forehead remained pressed against mine.
The energy that pulsed between us was so strong it was almost tangible—like a static in the air, igniting the space around us. So much heat transferred between our bodies that it felt like the room was on fire.
“The biggest lie they ever told you was that you were made for them,” he whispered, shifting until I felt the tip of him press against my entrance. “My sweet, sweet Morrigan, your soul is mine.”
When he entered me, it wasn’t slow or gentle.
That’s not what I needed. He thrust his hips, and my mouth parted on a scream derived from pure pleasure, but he covered my mouth with his hand to silence it.
He pushed in and out, and all the tenderness had left his body.
Now? He was claiming me. I tightened my legs around his hips, wanting him as deep as possible, and couldn’t stop my eyes from rolling back in pleasure.
He slid his hand away, pressing it into the pillow beside my head, and lowered his lips to my ear. “Say it, Morrigan,” he panted. “Say you’re mine.”
“I’m yours,” I moaned before biting my lip as hard as I could to keep my volume low.
Wrapping a hand around the back of his neck, I pulled him back down, stealing his mouth in another desperate kiss. I refused to let go. I wouldn’t release him until our lips were swollen and bruised.
You’re mine, I thought.
Yours.
My other hand landed on his back, and I dug my nails into his skin, dragging them down as Tristan released a feral groan.
Malakai stole twenty cuts from me, and I would take them in Tristan’s pleasure and pain.
Suddenly, his shadows stretched out again and slid up my body until they wrapped around my wrists, pinning me to the bed.
Then, I did something without even trying to.
The heat in my core poured into my veins, and I felt my blood on fire as flames began to peel away from my skin.
They licked his arms, leaving behind small, artificial wounds that healed almost instantly.
And when Tristan grunted, it was one filled with carnal pleasure.
My flames tangled with his shadows, the tether burning brighter than ever, and I could barely breathe anymore.
I felt another orgasm rising as his movements became more erratic, losing the even flow he had before. Sensing it, Tristan let go of my lips and covered them with his hand.
“Come for me,” he demanded, and my back arched as my release rippled through me.
Liquid flames poured from my veins, surrounding Tristan as his shadows covered both of our bodies.
“Mine,” he whispered again as his hips bucked forward, and his forehead dropped onto mine.
While his warmth filled me, his shadows slowly released, and his entire body came down onto me.
We both lay there catching our breaths, not bothering to speak for a few minutes. Naturally, I found myself playing with his hair, twirling the black strands, and Tristan kneaded my hips with his fingers. I hadn’t felt so content since…
My body went frigid.
What am I going to do? How do I even explain myself?
I became so lost in my own guilt and panic that I didn’t notice Tristan had lifted his head from my chest.
Once I explain who he is, I think they’ll understand.
Tristan released a crude laugh and moved off of me. I internally cursed myself as I had conveniently forgotten that he would have heard all of that.
“Tristan!” I yelled when he slid off of the bed, searching for his pants. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean… This is… It’s confusing for me!”
“You don’t even know…” He puffed out a frustrated breath and ran his hands over his face as he paced my room.
“You know how I feel about them,” I reminded him. “They’ll understand! Once we tell them who you are, what we are to each other, they’ll—”
“They know who I am!” he yelled back at me, the power in his voice enough to shift the air around us entirely.
The lust and desire morphed into something more hostile…
angry. While his eyes still remained light— one blue and one almost white—I could still see the darkness beginning to swirl in them.
An uncomfortable thought settled in my mind, planting itself like a poisonous weed that I didn’t want to pluck. I’ve seen that darkness before…
“Yes. You have,” he answered, calmer this time.
I gazed into his eyes, watching the shadows still seeping from his markings in my peripheral vision. It felt like he was telling me something without actually saying the words, and the implications that rose in my mind… “No,” I mumbled, suddenly feeling a little sick.
All of the anger drained from Tristan’s face, forming a solemn frown. “I need to tell you something.”
As my breaths came in faster, I sat up and scooted back against the headboard.
“No, Tristan. That’s not… That’s not possible…
” My stomach leapt into my throat, forming a thick lump that made me want to puke.
When he stepped toward me, I reached out a hand to stop him. “Please tell me it’s not true.”
He looked nervous as he gave me a wary nod and sat on the side of the bed.
“I’m not Ryuk’s only son,” he admitted, and it took everything in me to hold down the bile that burned the back of my throat.
“Who truly knows how many children he had? But Kaiden… He is one of them. Both he and Dez were aware of my birth. One of them is the reason I’m even here to begin with. ”
Ryuk is Kaiden’s father…
Which meant that Tristan was his—
Oh, Gods… What the fuck have I done?
