Chapter 16
Mona
Look at this beautiful bitch, running shit like the true queen she is. I’m in love, but not enough to sacrifice my happy home with August and our children, I thought, enjoying how poised, dominant, and gruesome X looked at the snitch who stepped next to his wife.
“You’ve pleased me greatly with keeping me informed about your wife’s ways.
If you try to hold anything over my head, George Senior, I will fucking murder you in front of your children.
I got your son into this school because of your obedience to watch your wife closely.
Grishla’s grades are spectacular. She doesn’t belong in any ordinary private school.
The one she wants to attend in Switzerland can be fully paid today if she chooses to go.
You and your children need to discuss their lives after I’ve left this room with that chest strutting before me.
Get to doing it … in your son’s dorm room, of course …
unless you want them to see … how … I … get …
down,” X spoke, standing tall and proud as she lifted her right arm.
Slowly, she extended her thumb and pinky fingers.
The other fingers were bent into her palm.
“I’ll take them into the room and speak with them. I’m missing my secondborn. She’s in the room with August Junior,” George Senior replied, stepping from his wife.
X glided her eyes to August Senior. A small smile appeared as she nodded. “In that case, she doesn’t need to be disturbed. She’s in good hands. He’s raised by the best man, who I’m delighted isn’t part of my crew.”
“Yes, ma’am.” He nodded.
“You are dismissed to speak with your second and third children,” she declared, slowly tilting her head back as if she wanted the sun to kiss her chin and neck.
“Yes, ma’am.” He nodded, dropping his wedding ring on Patty’s back.
Once George Senior fully faced his two children, rapidly chewing as if they were starving, it seemed sixteen boulders were lifted from his body. His posture was straight. His head was high as his fingers relaxed at his sides.
“Come on. We have much to talk about,” he said to his children as my husband’s left fist became tighter. He was in defensive mode over the children. Too much had been said to strike the wrong chord with him.
“Excuse me, August,” George said, staring at his children.
“Mmph.” My man nodded. In a split second, August sucked his teeth and punched George in the throat and stomach.
King’s growls were loud as August continued punching George until he stumbled over his wife’s legs.
“August, tag me in,” King held out sinisterly as August gripped George’s neck and punched his nose repeatedly, quickly.
“I was inside a fucked-up home. Yo’ kids starvin’.
Why? I was a dad at fo’teen an’ my son never went without.
A bitch who hated me could never be close to my boy.
You got three of ‘em. I’m finna wear yo’ ass out befo’ I tag the main recipient to a nothin’ ass mother figure,” August spoke slowly, still drilling the man’s face as blood gushed from his nose.
So many punches later, August never tagged King.
King had to put August in a chokehold. They tussled well.
King was no match for August and the anguish built in him.
Eventually, King flipped August on his back.
My man didn’t stay down with ease. He kept lifting and close to tossing King on his back.
As if something struck King that scared him shitless, he gathered so much strength to put August on his back.
Putting his knees on August’s chest, King was breathless while staring down at my angry man with more fight left in him but the pressure of King on his chest stopped the fight.
“Calm down, August, please,” King begged as I saw in August’s eyes that he was far from settling down. He wanted the parents dead, just as I wanted them.
“Them churren better off wit’out they parents.
A man has power to shut a bitch down. Ain’t no pussy in this gotdamn world can make me hate my kids.
Ain’t no ‘mount of dick suckin’ gon’ make me have my kids in the worst environment.
If I’on get out this room, I’mma dome check him, Kingston,” August spat as tears slid down his face.
“Then, I’mma go find Uncle Otto an’ put that pistol on his ass fo’ havin’ me in that fucked up environment.
Then, I’mma shoot his ass in the mouth fo’ havin’ you, Kingdon, an’ Kingsley in that raggedy ass environment. ”
“King, remove your family and the Henry children. Take them out to eat. I saw how they ravaged that honey bun. He will have minor injuries that will feel as if they are major. He must live. She had him by the balls for something. I can promise you that the Henry children will never be harmed again by their mother. All their dreams will come true because they are out of that hostile environment. The girls will succeed because they are smart as shit. Their GPAs are through the roof. Their SAT scores are phenomenal. The boy’s success determines how hard he works his ass off.
Make sure August has a clear head because he went super dark,” X said, finally shaking her right hand six times.
“A’ight,” King nodded as he lifted from my angered husband.
As August stood and looked at me, King held onto the back of his jeans, ensuring August stayed on track by walking to me. Landing before me, August rested his hand on my stomach and kissed my cheek.
X smiled. “Y’all are pregnant.”
“Yes,” we answered as I finally looked at my husband. “Aww, baby, did you go super dark because of me?”
“That an’ the guilt of not puttin’ Blanche an’ Uncle Otto in their places.
I didn’t enforce then, but I make sho’ I’on skip a beat nih.
Those kids rubbed my guilt the wrong way.
I had to act ‘cause I didn’t full throttle act then …
I just cussed the bitch out. I need som’ air, baby.
Go get our guh. Cover her face an’ let’s take them kids to get som’ to eat,” he said softly, eyes becoming teary.
Nodding, I rubbed his face. Resting my lips against his, I gazed into his remorseful eyes and said, “August, you could only do what you were capable of at the time. You can’t be at your throat about the past. All you can do now is regulate shit.
You have the means but let me tell you this …
you can’t save everybody who comes from the same background as us.
It’s draining. This entire situation has drained me so badly that I can’t even be happy for our son’s first day of sleeping in his dorm room.
Too much knowledge rolled around, making me uncomfortable about his presence here. I … I ….”
“Six,” X counted as feet shuffled, especially King’s and August. Hurriedly, I was in August arms as he hollered our son and Germoney’s names while running toward the door.
“Five,” X said as her goons laughed. Tiberius had lifted Momma Orthella and rushed toward the door.
“Four,” X spoke coolly as toddlers laughed while their parents ran with them.
“Three,” X’s voice boomed as August Junior held tightly to Germoney while running out of the room.
I like them together. Perfect couple. One day, I thought as X said, “Two!”
She never made it to one. Everyone was in the hallway, walking in the opposite direction.
Only sounds that could be heard came from the children.
They were oblivious to the dangers and sadness around them.
I was thankful they would never know what it felt like to go hungry, have their light dimmed by a useless motherfucka, or be beaten because of the things they wanted.
“Momma?” August Junior called out, snapping me from my thoughts.
Staring at my handsome son, being a gentleman, I smiled. “Yes, Son.”
“Are you okay?” he questioned sweetly as we neared the rear stairwell.
Slowly nodding, I exhaled. “Yes. No, I’m not lying.”
“Good deal. I love you,” he confessed, causing my eyes to become teary.
“I love you,” I sang, causing him to show me the shiny gold teeth that made his smile jaw-dropping gorgeous.
“You better, guh.” He cheesed as Azaria ran by her brother, slapping his knee.
“I’m going to get you, guh.” He laughed as she giggled and eyed their father. There was no doubt that one of the females who had held our chocolate cutie told her to find her father. Whenever stairs were our path to arrive wherever, the males who held kids would either run up or down them.
As August Senior swooped our daughter into his arms, Thiago ordered, “If you ain’t holdin’ a child, get behind us.
We gotta shake this sad shit off. August Junior need to be celebrated fo’ his great accomplishments.
That’s what we came here fo’. That’s what the fuck we gon’ do.
Three newbies added to us. Time to show them how much better life is when you ain’t got nobody holdin’ you down.
They ain’t gon’ get alienated. We gon’ foot the bill fo’ whatever they want an’ do.
I want everybody motherfuckin’ musty by the time we get back.
I need my nuts to smell like a motherfucka don’ died. ”
“Oh wow,” Grishla held out, walking closely behind her sister and August Junior.
“My God,” Momma Orthella held out as we stopped walking.
While looking at me, my honey demanded, “Walk down the stairs.”
Smiling, I rubbed my flat stomach and said, “I will.”
“I love you, Mona,” he confessed before kissing my cheek.
“I love you. Have fun with the hype girl,” I said, rubbing his beard.
“Always,” he spoke calmly.
“Your light is dim, honey. I’m going to brighten it up. Since Momma Thea had me gripping and threatening her, she’s going to have Azaria as her roommate. Isn’t that correct, Momma Thea?”
Looking at me over her shoulder, the mentally unbalanced woman nodded. “Yes, that’s right, sweetheart.”
What a day this has been. I hope Thiago can put everyone back into the right headspace. Happy, smiling, laughing, and all about fun and creating great memories, I thought as Thiago held tightly to one of his twins before running from the door.
