Chapter Fifty-Five

Raevina

Raevina stared skyward as her king and queen tore through the heavens, soaring above the battlefield and leaving a trail of fire in their wake.

They weren’t Fae.

They were legends.

She could feel her own fire responding, ready to purge the world at their sides.

“They found him,” Raevina said, her voice no longer haggard, body no longer drained.

Talon stepped up beside her. “They’ll need help.”

Raevina watched the Dark Fae flee before her monarchs. Stories come to life that her father had always claimed were nothing more than children’s fairy tales.

“No,” she said, “they won’t.” But that didn’t mean she would sit on the sidelines.

Raevina raised her blade. Not because they needed her, but because she would fight beside her king and queen the way her ancestors should have done long ago.

And this time, they would emerge victorious.
