Epilogue
Lisbeth stood in front of the stunning glass building with her arms looped through Addie’s and Diana’s. Rose stood behind them, wanting space as she was still nauseous from the human she was growing.
Addie grinned. “I can’t believe we are setting up the exhibit today.”
In one week, the Great Exhibition would open. They’d been given a spot right next to the London Society of Antiquaries. All the board members of the Historical Society for Female Curators suspected the men-only club would be very displeased about that.
They didn’t care. Having the epic exhibit at the world event meant that they’d made it. Lisbeth smirked. They weren’t the richest, most knowledgeable, or most well-known club, but their desire to succeed had propelled them to this moment.
Diana sighed, “I wish Esme and Sarah were here.”
Addie shook her head. “Don’t be sad about that. They will return before the Great Exhibition is over. Let them have their adventures. We will handle this while they are away.”
Rose nodded. “Plus, we need them to find us more artifacts to display.”
Lisbeth said. “I agree. I do hope that Sarah and the Count de Messina don’t throttle each other.”
Addie giggled. “When they met, Sarah was having none of his charm, and he didn’t look pleased to be corrected about his island’s history.”
They all laughed.
Lisbeth looked around at the women she’d barely known a year ago, but now were her dearest friends. “Shall we, ladies?”
They all nodded, and Rose looped her arm through Addie’s. The Historical Society of Female Curators walked arm and arm towards the Crystal Palace with their heads held high and excited. They were damn proud to be representing the antiquities field at the Great Exhibition.
