Chapter 42
Thanksgiving Night
The back door to Randy’s Custom Auto crashes inwards and Ryder and I stumble around in the dark, mouths fused, hands groping. He disengages the alarm and reaches back to close and bolt the lock.
“Lights?” I gasp.
“Don’t need them. Know where I’m going.” He lifts me up and kisses my neck, sucking hard enough that I know I’ll see a hickey there tomorrow.
Another door goes wide as Ryder kicks it with his foot. Then I’m being spun around and dropped on the hood of a car.
After finishing Thanksgiving supper at Fallon’s, we met up with Jayson, Julien, Elijah, Brea, and Hailey at the bowling alley.
The alley does an after-Thanksgiving glow-in-the-dark bowling event, which we’ve gone to every year since we were thirteen years old.
After we played four games, Ryder and I called it a night.
We drove to his dad’s auto garage since it was closed and locked up for the holiday.
It was the only place we could think of where we could have some privacy.
“What car is this?” I ask, somehow not able to tell from where Ryder sat me on the hood.
He briefly looks down and to the side. “Hellcat.”
“Seriously? A Hellcat? It’s perfect.” I giggle, grabbing the back of his neck and pulling him to me for another kiss.
Ryder takes both my hands in his and pins them above my head on the hood of the car.
The shock of the cold metal is like being hit with a bucket of ice water all down my spine.
He presses down on top of me and seals his lips over mine.
I have always loved kissing. There is something about the way lips move together.
Kisses can be soft or hard, dry or wet, tongue or no tongue.
The moment when my full lips meet Ryder’s soft ones is such an exhilarating feeling.
No one has ever kissed me the way he does
And kiss me he does. Over and over.
“You ready, baby?
Yes
“I love you, Elizabeth.”
“I love you, too.”
