Book 2 Fatal Justice
Back cover copy:
Standing over the body of a Supreme Court nominee, Lieutenant Sam Holland is hip-deep in another high-profile murder case.
That she was one of the last people to see Julian Sinclair alive only complicates things even more.
With her relationship with Senator Nick Cappuano heating up, they’re attracting a lot of unwanted media attention and blinding flashbulbs.
The pressure is on for Sam to find Sinclair’s killer, but a new lead in her father’s unsolved shooting puts her in unexpected danger.
When long-buried secrets threaten to derail her relationship with Nick, Sam realizes that while justice can be blind, mixing romance with politics has the potential to be fatal.
More about the story…
On New Year’s Eve, Sam takes the oath as a newly promoted lieutenant, in charge of the Homicide Division, making an enemy of her displaced former commander Leonard Stahl, who has been moved to Internal Affairs.
Next, Sam and Nick travel to the Capitol, where Nick is sworn in as the new senator from Virginia.
Sam’s team is called to a brutal homicide of a woman and her children in the home of Clarence Reese, who’s missing.
Sam meets Nick’s friend, Julian Sinclair, who’s also close with the O’Connors, when Julian comes to town as a controversial Supreme Court nominee.
Much to Sam and Nick’s dismay, the dashing new senator’s relationship with the homicide detective is the source of intense media attention that intensifies when Sinclair is murdered.
Freddie returns to the gym where he met Elin during the O’Connor investigation. He’s hoping to lose his virginity to the woman who spoke so freely about her sex life.

Freddie ends up getting shot. After meeting at Sam and Nick’s New Year’s Eve party, Gonzo begins dating Christina Billings.
