25. Detavio
Chapter 25
Detavio
I thought letting Monster kill him first was giving him a chance to die with dignity because I couldn’t muster up the courage. Some sick soft part of me still held on to the lie that maybe he was all I had when my brothers was here with me. Impurity and Jalissa tried to rob us all blind of any chance at normalcy. They didn’t want to see us with a real family, there was never safety or softness. They poisoned us, ruined whatever good that we was born with.
So now, I was going to give him what he gave everyone else. Pain. I would be a storm coming to wipe him away. I released the dirt with the last bit of my tears and got back inside of the truck. I appreciated the silence from Monster and Octavio, it was like a silent understanding of what I had to do before proceeding forward. I had them, and they had me. I had Angel and now Maylee.
Angel promised to never leave my side again and that was all that mattered. A couple of days ago, I admitted to Maylee how I truly felt. I no longer wanted to mislead her. Although the three of us got caught up in the moment of being vulnerable from Maylee pouring her heart out, I just didn’t see us all in a three-way relationship without being unfair to Maylee. I was in love with Angel. I already had a custom-made wedding ring made for her to become my wife.
Angel liked being with women and she didn’t mind them servicing me and sometimes joining in on it. I cared for Maylee as a friend, I wouldn’t treat her the way that I treated Angel. She did not feel like her, nor did we share the same deep-rooted connection that I felt with Angel. That was the bottom line. I needed to release at least three times a day in order to not be in horrific pain from the buildup.
Most of the time, Angel could fulfill most days. I wanted Angel, and only Angel, that’s who I got the most pleasure from. It wasn’t just sex with Angel but being in her space, hearing her talk. I loved watching her work the blogs, then laying in the bed showing me peoples’ reactions. Angel made me feel normal, wanted, and loved.
Nothing was normal with the way things were in my immediate family that I did have but I accepted it…I loved it. No one had to understand but us.
“My men are moving in now,” Monster stated to no one in particular.
“Octavio, lay down,” Monster’s voice boomed louder.
The warehouse stood crooked in the clearing, it looked like the type of place that would reek of secrets and long dried blood. Black cars were lined up like it was a funeral taking place, their plates were stamped in Kanji. Armed men fell down like toothpicks, from the roof and everywhere else my eyes could land on.
“The truck is damn near bullet proof, roll down the fuckin’ window and take out whoever. No one outside will be left standing.” Monster already had his window down and was aiming out of it.
“Lay ‘em the fuck down!” Monster yelled as he put the truck in park and walked into the middle of destruction.
I got out next, Monster’s guards spilled behind us like smoke. The tension in the air snapped as I raised my hand and let out thunder. I watched men drop to their knees with their eyes wide open as another tried to give in and run. I shot him in the back of his head and kept pushing as Monster and I separated. We moved in without fear or hesitation, Monster was like a ghost popping out from behind trees like a well-trained assassin. The smell of gunpowder filled my nose as I stepped over a man that crawled toward his rifle. I quickly tucked my Glock then pulled out my nine-millimeter and shot him.
“Hold!” Monster held his hand up to his men, I followed his order.
“Check the warehouse,” he ordered.
Smoke curled around our boots as my eyes landed on the bunker.
“Clear!” One of the men yelled.
Monster nodded his head then pulled out his cellphone. Minutes later, Octavio walked up. He stepped over bodies with an emotionless facial expression.
“We don’t have long. So many gunshot sounds going off,” Octavio stated nervously as the amateur I expected him to be. I wouldn’t hold anything against him because this would be his first rodeo.
“We have time to spare, police don’t respond to this area. As far as they are concerned, it’s deserted, too close to Arkville. Come on,” Monster said as he stepped on top of a dead body as if it was a part of the ground.
We followed behind Monster then stopped when we reached steel doors that looked like a coffin lid. He opened it up and it smelled clean, like bleach. The overhead lights flickered as we descended the narrow staircase. It felt like we had entered a tomb of death. Our boots announced our presence. Monster was ahead of Octavio and I, his eyes along with his skin blended in with the dark shadows of the bunker. Octavio’s heavy footsteps stopped when Monster reached a hallway.
“Why it look so nice?” Octavio whispered.
“All things attached to the devil gets to be presented as nice,” I murmured.
The hallway led into what looked like a lounge, leather seats with a nice flow of AC. It looked like an underground palace; Impurity still found a way to live like a king. This was the kind of place that would be any man’s favorite man cave, it could serve as time away from his family to gain a little peace. Monster stopped again with his gun pointed. I stepped beside him and took in the scene before me.
Impurity sat with his eyes closed, the corners of his lips stretched into a smile. A woman was on the floor in front of him discarded like trash. Half of her naked body was charred black with blisters and bruises. The other half of her was beautiful, high cheekbones with pink parted lips…just enough to breathe if she wasn’t dead already. Her swollen eye blinked slowly with a terrified look.
“Monni—help.” She managed to get the words out.
I raised my gun before I even though about it. Monster held his hand up to stop me as Impurity opened his pitch-black eyes.
“Monni…Hmm…I think I could have used you all along. Your big, ugly, and sinister as fuck. If anyone of you make the wrong move, this bitch dies.” Impurity’s raspy deep voice echoed throughout his bunker.
Pop! Pop! Pop! Monster shot who I now figured out was Emi three times in the head.
“I guess one of us made the wrong move. We not here to chit chat about small souvenirs like her that you thought you could use against me. Fuck her.” Monster spat and stepped to the side, giving me the floor without saying it.
“Oh…I underestimated.” Impurity chuckled.
“The same way you underestimated the electric dildo shoved all the way up your virgin ass. Have you recovered or would you like me to take you to my warehouse and reiterate again?” Monster growled the words out.
For just a split second, I saw fear flicker in Impurity’s eyes. His fear quickly got replaced with rage.
He was half the man that I grew up with sitting in front of me. He was nothing but skin and bones. He looked as weak as he sounded, death looked like it had been chasing him and he was barely escaping.
“Detavio.” Monster called out to me, but I couldn’t take my eyes off of Impurity.
“Just do it! I know Detavio won’t pull the trigger…somewhere deep down inside of him still believes that I actually love him in my own sick way.” He chuckled out as he unbuttoned the top button to his black shirt.
“I gave you power, boy!” He pointed his black covered finger my way.
“I saw a little bit of me inside of you, so I taught you the way! None of us in life ever get a fair chance! You mutha fuckers?—”
“Enough! Kill him!” Monster roared.
My hand went stiff then started to tremble. Impurity sat calmly in his leather chair like he hadn’t bled half the world for his own personal gain. It was clear he had no regret; his arrogance was loud. His mouth curled into that sickening half-smile.
“Do it or I will.” Monster stepped behind me. I could hear Octavio’s rugged breaths as he stepped from the shadows to stand next to me.
I clenched my jaw, my breath got stuck in my chest. Impurity’s eyes stayed locked with mine. It felt like I was looking in the mirror for a split second. Impurity broke me out of the trance when he laughed, it was very calculated.
“I didn’t think you was as soft as the reject standing next to you. I should have let Jalissa take you with Octavio’s bitch ass! You disappoint me, boy!” Impurity spat as he crossed his legs.
A single tear slipped down my cheek, as rage and pain consumed me.
“Look at you…” He sneered.
“Crying like a bitch with a loaded fuckin’ gun! Power doesn’t cry, nor does it hesitate! People are tools, and you’re too weak to use them!”
“Shut up!” I said, hating the way that my voice cracked.
“You can do it,” Octavio whispered softly.
“Do it for all of us.” He continued.
Monster remained silent but I felt his willpower as support behind me.
“You are not a killer…you out here begging for love, want to still be held since Jalissa never did it. I told you, love makes you breakable!” Impurity chuckled out dryly.
“PULL THE FUCKING TRIGGER!” Monster’s voice rang so loudly in my ears that I screamed a deep and guttural scream as I dropped the gun and closed the space between Impurity and I.
My hands lunged forward as they wrapped around his throat. I squeezed tightly until his skin folded under my grip. I felt his pulse slam against the pads of my thumbs like a second heartbeat that I was determined to erase. His eyes bulged, as his smirk died slowly.
“You stole my got damn life and filled it with blood, taught me that pain was power…here it is! This is what the fuck you wanted!” I spat as my spit flew all over his face.
I squeezed harder than leaned in so close until I could smell the faint smell of whiskey on his dying breath.
“I’m gonna gain peace when you die, Impurity. I should have killed you years ago,” I gritted out as his nails started to claw at my arms then weakened.
I watched the light fade in his eyes as he choked out one last word.
“Good…” His body slumped in my grip like all the weight of his wickedness had finally let go.
I panted as everything inside of me went numb. Monster stepped to the side of me and placed his hand on my shoulder.
“He’s dead,” he muttered.
I still didn’t feel peace, just silence and the ringing of his voice in my head. I lunged forward again and snapped his neck from left to right then watched it slump over like a rag doll. I offered his corpse a small smile. This is what it meant to take back power. A bullet wouldn’t be able to give me this type of satisfaction, but my bare hands did.
