MELODY
One Year Later
O ur song blares through the speakers of the radio.
“Chase! Oh my god where are you! Our song is on the radio!” I screech.
He comes running down the stairs, his hair visibly wet from the shower.
“Turn it up!”
“It’s up as high as it can go!”
“That’s us!”
We stare at each other as the song we wrote together plays. Wonder, excitement, disbelief, you name it I’m feeling it all.
“That was Wessex and Chase Milford, a dynamic duo of fresh talent that you might remember from the news awhile back for being the sole survivors of a shipwreck. I hope we’ll be hearing more from these two soon.” The radio announcer says, and I squeal with excitement as Chase gathers me in his arms and spins me around.
“I can’t believe our song was on the radio!”
“Princess, this is just the beginning.”
The two of us quit Langford after being rescued, and Maestro Van Gogel helped connect us with a talent agency saying he’d never met a more promising musical collaboration. Though he tried to take credit for partnering us, his help was invaluable. We signed with a record label a few months later and recorded an entire album of songs that Chase, and I created.
Making music with him comes so naturally, that I feel it’s what I was always meant to be doing.
Chase sold his childhood house, and we bought an apartment together in New York, close to the studio. It’s a perfect three-bedroom two bath space that we can call our own. While I struggle with the knowledge of losing my mom, I find that her absence has afforded me the peace I’ve been seeking my entire life. My therapist assures me that it’s a perfectly normal reaction that I shouldn’t feel guilty for feeling. Especially after all she put me through. She did bring me one good thing though, and I’ll forever be grateful that I met Chase, even if it was under unconventional circumstances.
“How do you want to celebrate?” Chase asks me, putting me down and holding tightly onto my hips.
I tap my chin like I’m thinking hard. “I can think of one way we can celebrate.”
“Oh, yeah? How’s that.”
I lift up on my tip toes bringing my face to his and land a kiss directly on his lips.
“Come find out,” I say, pulling out of his grip and run into the bedroom. He’s hot on my heels, grabbing me and throwing me onto the bed with a chuckle. I bounce on the bed, a glimmer of mischief in my smile.
We’re out of our clothes in record time, impatient to feel each other. No matter how many times I have him, it’s never enough. He works my body in ways that I never thought possible.
He flips me onto my stomach and slaps my ass before entering me in one hard thrust. I cry out at how full he makes me feel.
“You take me so well, princess.” His hand finds my hair and he pulls on it, making me arch my back. He hits that perfect spot inside me that makes me shake.
His thrusts become hurried and rough. “Just like that.” I cry out, feeling the embers of my orgasm begin to flare deep in my core. He’s right there with me, balls slapping hard against my pussy as he penetrates me. I drip around him, feeling so wet from how good he makes me feel.
“That’s my good girl, come for me. Touch your clit.”
I obey, rubbing my clit in circles and bringing myself over the edge. Pleasure licks up and down my nerve endings and I cry out in ecstasy. Nothing feels as good as him.
He’s right behind me, groaning as his orgasm overtakes him. He releases inside me, and our labored breathing begins to even out.
As he pulls out, he cradles me against his sweaty body.
“You and me against the word,” he says, kissing me with such passion.
When I pull away, I look at the gray storm in his eyes and know that I’m home. I’ve found someone that loves me the way I’ve always deserved. It might be unconventional, it might be frowned on by the outside world, but it’s ours. And no one can take that from us.
“You and me against the world,” I say back and rest in his arms feeling completely safe and loved.
The End.
