Chapter Twenty-Nine

Serron

Serron and Patin had done more than talk about books and bookshelf placement in the hours they were working on their library gift. Now Patin and Jaq had equal consort status, and Jaq was sharing their bed, albeit in the sleepover variety rather than anything intimate, the only other thing they needed to work on was Jaq being comfortable about voicing what he might want to try regarding bedroom activities.

Neither Patin nor Serron had been innocent when they started their own intimacies. For at least the first six months of their relationship, the only focus had been achieving orgasms as often as possible before someone came looking for them. As their friendship and relationship deepened into something more meaningful, those rushed orgasms were still enjoyable, but it wasn’t the only reason they were attracted to each other.

Serron still remembered the first time he’d realized he didn’t want Patin to leave when the man was dressing for his shift at the market. That deep awareness in his soul that the man with the messy hair and the ready smile meant something to him – something significant.

Kissing Jaq’s lips for the first time was giving Serron the same sort of feeling. A feeling of warmth, a sense of wanting permanence with Jaq. Serron had known for so long that Patin held his heart, but after meeting Jaq, he and Patin had both agreed their hearts could very definitely be open to another person, provided that person was Jaq. Serron had never considered being intimate with another once he found Patin, but as Jaq’s eager lips tasted his, he was so happy Patin had given him a push.

He'd been worried that Patin would get the wrong idea if he expressed any attraction to Jaq beyond the occasional shared suggestive comment. After mumbling something non-committal the day before, when Patin asked him outright if Serron found Jaq attractive, Patin had grabbed him by the shoulders and shaken him.

“Jaq is our husband. He is intelligent, kind, generous, and honest. He is also really damn sexy. You are allowed to admit it. I personally can’t wait to see what he looks like out of his clothes.”

Serron had relaxed then, although they both agreed it was up to Jaq to determine when he might be prepared to go further than simply sharing a space in their bed. They both knew it could take Jaq some time to get the confidence to express the desire they could see in his eyes.

And we underestimated him again. Jaq turned around and found his voice the very next day.

Serron leaned into the kiss as he heard Jaq moan. He hadn’t intended to do more than seize the moment and give Jaq a small taste of what they could have together. But with hands gripping his arms with surprising strength and the way Jaq arched into his body, so determined to eliminate any gaps between them, it was Serron who was fast becoming unmanned.

It's not just me who’s been waiting, Serron thought as he gently eased back. Jaq’s cheeks were flushed, and his eyes were bright with mischief as he grinned. “My first kiss with you.” Jaq beamed. “Amazing. Wonderful. Would definitely recommend. However…” He turned to Patin. “Did you want to kiss me, too?”

Serron snorted as Patin nudged him out of the way. Jaq might as well have asked if Patin wanted gravy with his roast meat. Patin always asked the server to leave the gravy jug. Serron’s eyes narrowed, wondering about the size difference – Patin was taller and broader than he was, and Jaq was smaller.

Patin didn’t seem to think it was a problem though, scooping Jaq up with one arm under his pert butt, cradling his face with the other. When they were eye to eye, it was Jaq who leaned in, the sparkle in his eyes still evident until they closed, which was the moment Patin and Jaq’s lips touched.

Serron waited, wondering if he’d feel any sensation of jealousy. He’d obviously never seen Patin kissing someone else. You idiot, he reprimanded himself. Jaq wasn’t someone else, he was their equal, they were husbands together. And Patin and Jaq made a sexy couple. Serron felt a definite stirring in his lower regions watching how tender Patin was being.

When Patin pulled back, still holding Jaq off his feet, Jaq’s grin was back. “My first kiss with you,” he said as Patin gently lowered Jaq to the floor. “Amazing. Wonderful. Also would recommend. Thank you. What else can we try?”

Moving so he could put his arms around Patin’s waist and Jaq’s, Serron chuckled. “Dinner would probably be a good start and then I don’t think anyone is going to have an issue with us retiring early for the night.”

“That sounds like a good idea.” Jaq nodded, still showing his excitement. “But before we head off to the dining room, I want to ask something, and I know you’ll probably think I’m weird, or you might be weirded out about the idea.”

Jaq looked down at his arms and then tilted his head back up. “For our, I suppose it would only be mine really, but for our first time, would you be angry or feel uncomfortable if I just watched you two together…in bed…with no clothes on? I assume that’s how you conduct your intimate moments. I have been thinking about it, and I thought that watching you might help give me an idea of what two men do together.”

Glancing at Patin, Serron winked. If the library door had a lock, he could tell from the heat in his eyes that Patin would be stripping off already. “Being unclothed definitely makes activities like that a lot easier. I’m sure we won’t have a problem doing something like that,” he said. “Were you planning on taking notes?”

He made sure his tone would show Jaq he was teasing. “I might,” Jaq said, with an extra tilt of his chin and a wicked grin. “If I see anything that I think is worth further research.”

Patin burst out laughing. “Let’s go and find some food,” he said, barely able to get his words out around his laughing. “I think we all need to take a moment to collect ourselves, otherwise, you won’t have time to get some ink in your nib, Jaq, before the action is over. Shall we go and find some food?”
