Too much beautiful
Simo parked his Hellcat and met Chen at the Santa Monica airport’s tarmac as Ari's jet was chocked. He was bringing Halo with her parents home. He didn't go inside to meet Halo; that reunion didn't need an audience of hired muscle. He waited by the car with Chen and dialed up Jessie.
“Hey boss-man.” Jessie answered.
“I need you airborne in Ari’s helo. I need you to scout Halo’s home and the surrounding area for potential intruders. That completed, reconnoiter Joel’s home and report back.”
“Roger that… Boss-man.”
Simo turned to Chen smiling at him and Simo let out a sigh. They both turned to see Ari coming down the stairs first, looking older than he had that morning when he left.
“She's asking for the two of you,” Ari said.
“Officially, you're her security detail.
We need to understand what she has come back to, and uncover what Joel is planning.
Apparently, Halo had to give up a video showing Joel's account was a lie.
It shows Kostinos saving the plane, and restraining Joel, who, according to Halo, 'tried to attack Xander and blame him for the plane's issues. '“
Simo turned to Chen, “Handle the electronic surveillance and her home. I’ll deal with the rest for now.”
“Understood.”
Ari paused at the car door, something working behind his eyes. “Jillian pulled me aside before we landed. Says something feels wrong, she couldn't say what. She asked me to check on Xander. And on Athena. I’ll never discount Jillian’s intuition again.”
Simo's jaw tightened. His nose had been itching all week. “I'll have Theo look in on the Kostinos girl tonight.”
“Do that.” Ari managed a tired smile. “Simo. JJ is well, I take it?”
“With my parents in Greece.”
“Good. One less thing to worry about.” Ari waited for Halo and the Raines’s to deboard.
As Simo headed to his car he considered using Jessie as Halo’s full-time bodyguard and as he was about set on it, he imagined them both together and instantly changed his mind. Two of the most beautiful women in the world together? What was he thinking? He laughed.
