25. Aurora #3
He bends and presses his lips to my neck, leaving open-mouthed kisses before he sucks, hard enough to pull a gasp out of me as my head falls back against the pillow.
“God, I want to mark you,” he murmurs against my skin. “Want to suck you, spank you, make your body a canvas covered in my marks so that every time you move, you think of me.”
I don’t get the chance to say anything back because he shoves his sweats down, lines himself up, and in one deep, delicious thrust, he sinks inside me.
A cry tears out of me, my fingers digging into his shoulders. “God yes.”
He’s so deep, every hard thrust makes my body light up.
“You like showing off for me? Grinding your needy little cunt on my pillow like that?”
A helpless sound slips out of me as I wrap my legs around his waist and pull him closer.
“This is what you needed, wasn’t it?” he pants into my ear. “You wanted me to find you like that. Wanted to make me lose my mind.”
I want to deny it, to pretend I don’t ache for him, that I don’t think about him when we’re apart.
But I do.
I want this.
I want him.
Even when I shouldn’t.
Even when I know he’ll get tired of me eventually.
“We need to stop this,” I blurt out, the words coming out in a hush.
He stops moving and lifts his head, his eyes searching mine. “Now?”
“No.” My hand slides down to grab his ass and pull him harder against me, my body tightening around him. “Don’t you dare.”
“Good,” he breathes before he starts moving inside me again. “Because I couldn’t stop if I tried.”
But I know that isn’t true. If I told him to stop, he would. Cole might be an asshole most of the time, but he always checks in with me first to see how much I can take.
“Someday, though,” I whisper, holding his gaze, sliding my hands up his chest. “It’s getting too confusing.”
His eyes move over my face and his pace stutters, but a few seconds later, his jaw tightens and his expression turns cold.
“If you’re thinking, then I’m not fucking you hard enough.”
Before I can say a word, he flips me onto my stomach, drags me to the edge of the bed, and slides back inside me.
Disappointment slams into me so hard it makes my eyes sting, but I quickly blink it away. Maybe this is better. Safer. With my back to him and my face buried in the sheets, I can’t look into his eyes and feel that fluttering in my stomach that absolutely should not be happening with Cole.
It’s a good reminder that this thing between us is just sex.
That’s all it was ever supposed to be.
He pulls out all the way, slapping his cock against my pussy before thrusting back inside, my legs trembling every time he fills me. I moan helplessly against the mattress as my orgasm climbs higher and higher, until it shatters, making my vision blur.
I can’t speak, can’t breathe, can’t do anything except ride it out while he fucks me through it, each thrust sending another shock of pleasure through my body.
He’s close. I can feel it in the way his thrusts speed up, in the way his breath stutters against my shoulder.
I feel him pull out of me and I whip my head over my shoulder just in time to see him rip off the condom and fist his cock.
“Fuck—” he groans. “Gonna come—”
Heat splashes across my ass as he spills all over me, groaning through clenched teeth. He keeps stroking lazily, squeezing out every drop, and then drops onto the bed beside me, his chest heaving.
He grabs the pillow beneath him and holds it between us, arching a brow. “You know I’m never sleeping on this again without getting hard, right?”
I groan and slap both hands over my face. “Oh my God. I cannot believe I did that.”
He laughs under his breath, tossing the pillow aside, and crawls back over me, pressing soft kisses on my chest. “It was hot as fuck,” he murmurs, flicking his tongue across my nipple and groaning at the way it hardens. “You couldn’t wait for me?”
I let my head fall back against the pillow and exhale. “You were busy with someone else, so…”
He lifts his head just enough to look at me, his mouth still on my skin, and one dark brow goes up. “You got jealous?”
“No,” I say a little too fast. “I just… didn’t realize you were seeing someone else.”
I regret the words the second they’re out of my mouth, because I know what this is. We fuck. That’s it. He started sleeping with me because he wanted me out of his system, and none of that gives me any right to care who else he talks to or who else he touches.
Doesn’t stop that gross feeling from climbing up my chest anyway.
He props himself up on one elbow and brushes my hair back from my face. “Aurora… it was my sister.”
I blink. “What?”
“Sophie,” he clarifies. “My dad is…” His eyes drift for a second, his jaw tightening before he looks back at me. “If she calls, I answer. Every time.” He swallows. “I’m all she has.”
Oh.
Guilt settles deep in my bones. I was lying here working myself into a spiral over his sister.
“So it wasn’t another girl?” I ask.
His eyes lift to mine and he smirks. “So you were jealous.”
I roll my eyes and shove at his chest. “I’m leaving.”
Before I get very far, he catches my wrist and tugs me right back down until I’m on my side facing him again.
“I’m not seeing anyone else,” he says, his thumb moving softly over my cheek and a tiny inch of hope blooms in my chest. “Are you?” he asks, his eyes meeting mine, the muscle in his jaw jumping.
“Maybe…” I tease, which only makes him narrow his eyes.
“Aurora,” he warns.
A laugh slips out of me, but I shake my head. “No,” I tell him. “I’m not.”
The corner of his mouth lifts, and I watch his eyes drop to my lips and mine drift to his too.
Kiss me.
It repeats in my head over and over again, but I swallow the words down. I made that rule for a reason.
I turn away from him and swing my legs over the bed. “I should go,” I say, climbing out of bed before I do something stupid.
“Why?” He grabs his sweats, stepping into them. “Do you have anywhere else to be?” he asks.
“No,” I admit.
The apartment’s empty with Isabella gone, and there’s no chance I’m going back to my mom’s place. Not when she’s trying to keep me away from the one thing I came here for.
He holds my gaze, dragging his sweatpants up his hips. “Then stay here with me.”
I swallow, my throat suddenly feeling too tight. “That’s a bad idea.”
“Probably,” he says with a shrug, walking around the bed until he’s standing in front of me, then tips my chin up. “Stay anyway.”
Every part of me knows I shouldn’t. Staying here is only going to make these feelings inside me worse. But I also really don’t want to go back to an empty apartment. I want to be with him.
“Okay,” I say before I can talk myself out of it.
His smile widens, and he rubs his thumb over my lower lip. I wish he’d lean in and kiss me. Wish he could read my mind and just give me what I can never admit I want out loud.
“We should probably rewind the episode,” he says, breaking me out of my thoughts. “I think we missed all of it.”
A smirk tugs at his lips and I let out a low laugh, because I completely forgot we were in the middle of watching TV.
“I’m taking a shower first,” he says, tucking my hair behind my ear, his gaze lingering on mine before he heads toward the bathroom, the door closing behind him.
I tip my head and close my eyes, pretending my rule is still protecting me, even though every part of me knows I’m already in way too deep.
