Chapter Fifty-Five

CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE

SEBASTIAN

I don’t know what I’m feeling right now as I wrap my arms around the back of Luke, pulling him and Leena tighter to me.

Pissed? Definitely.

Relieved? Sure.

But there’s something else nagging at me. I think I’m… proud.

Proud that they’re mine.

I don’t think I’ve ever been more angry in my entire fucking life than when Leena got up on that motorcycle and took off. Or maybe it wasn’t anger, maybe it was just fear. I needed her with me.

And she didn’t fucking listen.

I know she’s headstrong, I’ve known it for years, been living with it for nearly six months. But at that moment, I didn’t want headstrong Leena.

I wanted her fucking safe.

Watching her handle that motorcycle did something to me. I wanted to punish her for disobeying me. Wanted to fuck her because it turned me the fuck on to see her ass bent against that seat. I wanted to hold her close so I knew she was safe.

But I’m starting to realize that maybe I love her for this. I love that she goes against me, that she knows who she is, knows her limits and when to ask for help. As much as I love how soft and fragile she is in my arms, how easy it is to throw her around, I love her even more for all the times she pushes back. She’s brave as fucking hell, and I’m feeling this possessive sort of admiration for her.

Because I get to have her. She’s mine.

I don’t care that I have to share her. Hell, she gave me Luke.

Now, he’s mine too.

Despite all the years I’ve had him by my side, I never would have realized what he really meant to me without her. Never would have told him how I felt.

She told us what Colton said to her, that she’s the heart. The one who keeps us all together.

And he’s fucking right.

I trail my thumb gently over her shoulder, right over where the little tattoo is still healing beneath her shirt. She notices, smiling back at me.

“Don’t fucking scare me like that again,” I whisper, but there’s no anger in my tone. Only the image of how I could have lost her playing over and over again in my head.

She turns to me, and her gaze softens. She’s not angry that I’m admonishing her for what she did. She has to know that was fucking stupid. Has to know how much of a risk it was. Instead, she takes my words for what I mean them to be.

“I’m happy we’re safe too,” she says, leaning in and pressing her lips to mine. Our mouths slowly part, and I breathe against her, letting her words sink in as I kiss her slowly.

Safe. I don’t know if we’ll ever be safe. But I know we’ll always be together. Because there’s no way in hell I’m letting this woman go.

When we pull apart, I find Luke’s blue eyes watching us. And fuck. I don’t know how I, of all people, wound up this fucking happy.

I’m afraid I'll fuck this up. I honestly don't know if I'm cut out for this... being the person they need me to be. But I intend to try.

Every. Single. Fucking. Day.

Luke leans in, and I kiss him slowly too, tightening my grip around his back.

“I love you both,” I say, because I truly fucking mean that.

Our eyes snap up when Colton starts hauling us up. He’s smiling.

It’s a real fucking smile, I realize. Not that bullshit Colton smirk we’re all so used to seeing. He stares for a long moment, then we hear the comm lines switch on.

“Fisher to Geek Squad, I lost sight of the boat. We can troll the shoreline once I’ve got management back on board,” he says.

“Copy that,” Ryan says, and the radio clicks off.

The sound of the helicopter becomes deafening the closer we get, until the three of us are hanging right outside the open doorway. Colton reaches out for what I assume is the cable. Instead, he reaches straight for Leena, grabbing at her shirt right between her breasts and hauling us inside.

Okay, I know for a fact Leena isn’t wearing a bra. She never wears a bra. So what the fuck was that? I narrow my eyes at Colton.

All of a sudden, he’s hauling Leena up and out from between me and Luke.

Oh.

I know that lift.

This motherfucker.

“Is she wearing a fucking harness?” I bark out at him. Because, clearly, he already knew that little detail.

I glance at Luke as we get to our feet. And the way he raises his hands, and the absolute shock and pleasure in his eyes tells me he didn’t know about this either. The two of us turn and just fucking stare at them.

Colton is holding Leena in front of him, lifting her up by what’s abso-fucking-lutely a harness. Her toes barely touch the ground, and I don’t doubt they’d be completely off it if he wasn’t injured.

She looks up at him, a little in surprise, but mostly just in reverence.

He glares down at her. Between the dominant way he’s holding her, and knowing that there’s a fucking harness hidden under that thin shirt, my cock is instantly fucking hard.

I can’t believe he put her in a harness.

I can’t believe she agreed to it.

“You test my patience,” he growls out.

Fuck.

“Sorry, sir,” she replies immediately, those big doe eyes looking up at him. And now I’m thinking about all the ways the three of us are going to punish her for this one.

Colton lets out another displeased noise from deep in his chest, then jerks her against him, slamming his lips onto hers. Leena immediately responds, pressing her hips into him and sliding her hands up his chest.

I watch. I can’t look away.

Harness.

Leena is wearing a fucking harness.

My mind starts running through every sexual position those little straps of leather will make possible. Every. Single. Fucking. One.

When their kiss finally breaks, Colton sets her down and she’s left trying to straighten out her crumpled shirt. I’m left standing here with a throbbing cock.

“How long has she been wearing that?” Luke grits out, no doubt an equal strain in his pants, because I know he likes those things too.

In fact, I’ve seen him wear one.

I didn’t appreciate it at the time, that’s for fucking sure.

“Since the gift shop,” Leena says sheepishly. “I found it in Colt’s go-bag and well… he was kind enough to help me put it on.” She smirks, glancing at him.

“And why are we just now hearing about this, sugar?” I say, stepping close enough to her so that she has to look up at me to fucking answer.

“We thought… it would be a fun surprise?” she says with a smirk, trying to gauge my reaction to this.

I step closer.

“If you’re wondering if I’ve been picturing strapping you into a harness every second since that show, then yes, sweetheart. I have,” I say, running my hands up under her shirt, because I need to fucking feel it. Feel the hard lines of metal and leather framing her perfectly soft breasts.

She takes in a breath and her eyes grow dark, but before my fingers find their way, a deafening sound rings out in the distance.

“What the fuck was that?” Luke shouts as he and Colton hold the rail to lean out the door. I immediately grab Leena, rushing her to the front seat and strapping her into it. I don’t care what just exploded.

It’s time to get the fuck out of here.

I hear the door slide shut and move out of Colton’s way as he throws himself into the pilot seat with a pained grunt. I glare at that.

“It was a boat,” he says grimly, glancing up at me.

I stare back, my jaw clenched.

No.

“Colt?” Leena’s voice breaks, but he doesn’t say anything. He just looks at her, which is confirmation enough.

I grip the back of Leena’s seat as Colton takes us back up the coast.

Leena doesn’t move. Her face goes pale as she grips the straps at her shoulders, clawing at them.

I stare at her.

I don’t know what else to fucking do.

I feel Luke’s hand on my shoulder and I let him kneel down beside her. “Breathe for me baby girl, we don’t know if Kat was on it. Let’s assume she wasn’t until we know more, okay? We’ll ask Ry and Ava to pull up the police scanners.” His words seem to calm her down, because she loosens her grip and nods her head nearly imperceptibly.

I glance at Luke, giving him a nod of gratitude. I know his words won’t change what we both know just happened, but I appreciate how he could give her this little bit of hope, even if it’s only for a moment. Because as Colton heads up the coast, we see the aftermath of the explosion.

A black plume of smoke billows from a yacht on the horizon. Even from here, it’s plain to see that the entire vessel is completely engulfed in flames.

Luke and I share a devastated glance, and Leena starts sobbing. Because if there was anyone on that boat, it’s very fucking clear they didn’t survive.
