Chapter 1 The Past Resurfaces
On the Variety Show, the host asked Song Nanzhou, “How did you break up with your first love?”
Song Nanzhou’s expression turned ugly, like something unpleasant had been dragged up. “My first love was a high school online girlfriend. She said I couldn’t give her what she wanted.”
“But I gave her everything except my body.”
The host looked confused. “Then what did she want?”
Song Nanzhou gritted his teeth. “Quiet.”
All the guests burst out laughing, forgetting their image.
Their happiness belonged to them.
I had nothing.
After the episode aired, “Song Nanzhou Got Dumped” shot to the top of every Trending Search.
I smelled trouble and frantically deleted my old Weibo posts from when I was still unknown. Too late—fans had already screenshotted them.
The screenshot was from right after my debut, when barely anyone followed me. One day I passed my old high school, suddenly remembered my online boyfriend, thought it was funny, and posted about it.
【Cheng Zhi V: Passed my high school today and suddenly remembered I had an online boyfriend back then. Sophomore year was turning into senior year, Mom banned my phone, and after thinking it over I decided my future mattered more. He was really good to me, but I still found an excuse to break up.
Orange: Let’s break up. You can’t give me what I want.
Him: Time, money, companionship, love - which one didn’t I give you?
Him: I already gave you everything except my body. What else do you want?
Orange: Quiet.
Then I deleted and blocked him in one smooth move. Thinking back now, I still feel guilty.】
I never imagined a three-year-old post would be dug up. Watching my own nonsense climb the Trending Search, I completely fell apart.

My agent called, furious. “Did you really have something going on with Senior Song?”
My heart jumped. I answered awkwardly, “I don’t even know. Maybe my online boyfriend wasn’t him.”
“Is ‘Song You One Journey’ his old screen name?” she pressed.
I blurted, “How did you know?”
“Song Nanzhou mentioned it on an old Variety Show. Everything’s been dug up now.”
I chose my words carefully. “So… is it too late to issue a denial?”
She cut me off. “Even jumping in the Yellow River wouldn’t wash you clean now.”
I kept scrolling Weibo while arguing, “Why can’t I be cleared? Someone else already claimed it.”
I stared at the phone. Rising star Su Xiner had posted on Weibo saying she was immature as a kid and used internet slang to break up with her boyfriend.
It was basically her indirectly claiming to be Song Nanzhou’s online ex.
Maybe her company paid more—her topic quickly overtook mine and Song Nanzhou’s.
Her fans outnumbered mine by millions. My Weibo comment section fell.
【A pheasant thinking it can become a phoenix by rubbing off the Best Actor’s popularity?】
【Who even are you? I don’t know you. So shameless.】
【Su Xiner and Best Actor Song are a perfect match. Know your place and don’t be a third party.】
I was sitting at home doing nothing, yet I got accused of being a homewrecker.
Song Nanzhou—was he my blessing or my curse?
