Epilogue
I stood at the entrance of Fudan University, surrounded by crowds, wondering if Song Nanzhou would spot me right away.
I’d sent him lots of photos over the break—no filters, totally real, flaws and all.
My heart was racing. I was terrified of not looking good in person, but I was absolutely in love with everything about Song Nanzhou.
He called me. “Where are you?”
I told him my spot. Not long after, I saw him walking toward me from a distance, holding a bouquet of flowers, until he was right in front of me.
Song Nanzhou spoke first. “You did your makeup?”
I nodded. Only heaven knew how hard I’d practiced all summer.
“Why the flowers?” I asked.
He handed them to me. “To officially confess.”
“Huh?”
He smiled patiently. “Online, you were the one who reeled me in. But the real confession—that’s on me.”
“Oh…”
“I like you, Cheng Zhi. Will you be my girlfriend?”
I smiled. “Yes, I will.”
