Chapter Fourteen
Callie understood why Evander hated Byron so much.
He was relentless and seemed to know your next move before you did.
She felt angry, frustrated, and had finally reached her breaking point.
There were so many secrets and she was completely in the dark.
She wouldn’t allow these animals to decide her destiny.
Evander wanted them to break up to protect her, but she refused to give him up. He meant everything to her, made her feel wanted, special, and beautiful. If she were honest with herself, she’d rather die tonight than face a lifetime without Evander by her side.
Now, she was going on fumes. She was exhausted, sore everywhere, and at her limit.
She was ready to use her weapon the second she had a chance, but the moment she saw Evander again, her entire body felt like it melted into the ground with relief.
She needed him. He’d been her knight in shining armor since day one, but now he had no gun.
He was completely vulnerable and she knew she had to call up the strength and energy to save him if she could.
“What’s the end game here?” asked Evander. He didn’t sound scared. Despite the dire circumstances, he sounded confident and dark around the edges.
Byron made a curious sound. “Hmm. I’d say both of you dead. But not after I make you beg. And I’ll start with her, just so you can watch.”
“You should really get a hobby. You’re too fucking obsessed with me.”
“You could have just handed over the flash drive,” spat Byron. “Now you can watch her die.”
“You’re a pathetic motherfucker who needs to get laid.”
“Maybe. How about I start with this fat bitch?”
The next moment was a whirlwind. A deafening sound made her ears ring and Byron’s weight briefly pulled down on her, nearly making her fall. When he was on the ground, she used her metal rod to hit him, kicking the knife away.
Then she realized he was already dead. She froze, the pipe falling to the ground with a thud. There was a lot of blood. She felt dizzy, the entire world whirling around her like a sci-fi movie. All she could hear was his voice, the soothing sound pulling her under until everything went black.

Callie stretched out her legs, the soft sheets felt like Heaven. She stayed like that for the longest time until reality struck her hard. She opened her eyes and bolted up into a sitting position. That hurt.
“Relax, baby. You’re safe.”
She looked around. It was their bedroom.
It felt like only seconds ago she was in that dark junkyard facing imminent death. It took her a while to get her bearings. Evander was sitting on a chair pulled up close to the bed. He was alive, and so was she.
“What happened?”
“Do you think I only carry one gun?” He smiled. “I couldn’t stand the things he was saying to you. I put one right between his eyes.”
That would have been extremely close to her head since Byron had been using her as a human shield. But she didn’t question him about it.
“How did I get here?”
He shrugged. “Full circle. Reminds me of our first encounter.”
She chuckled, but it hurt her ribs. He’d saved her, carried her here. It was hard to believe.
“You need to rest. The doctor said nothing’s broken but you’ll be sore for a while.”
The doctor? She couldn’t believe how deeply she’d been out. There was nothing she could remember before blacking out in that junkyard.
“Are you sure he’s dead?” she whispered.
“Very sure. You have nothing to worry about ever again.”
“Until the next time,” she said.
“There won’t be a next time. Your mother blackmailed Byron many years ago. She got some incriminating files of his and tried to use them against him. It cost her life. She hid the flash drive in her jewelry box.”
“My jewelry box?”
He nodded. “He thought I was with you because of what you had.”
“Is it true?” she asked. Fear of rejection flooded her system.
“Are you kidding me? I just found that flash drive when I was trying to find you. Until he showed up, I knew nothing about it. In fact, I thought he was after me for something.”
He stood up, walking in half circles while rubbing behind his neck.
“You’re right, though,” he said. “This isn’t the life I want for you. Not by a longshot. I can’t protect you all the time. I was an idiot to think I could. You’d be better off with a civilian, someone safe, predictable, and not fucked-up in the head.”
A tinge of fear burned her veins. He sounded so decided, final, and it terrified her.
“No, I don’t want anyone else.”
“If we’re going to have a future together, you can’t ever doubt my love, Callie West. Do you understand that?”
“Evander, from the first day we met, you’ve been my savior, and you still are. I know what I’m getting into, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Don’t even think about pushing me away. Not now. Not ever.”
The room was too quiet. Too still.
He exhaled, then came back to the chair, slowly sitting down. The leather creaked slightly. Evander reached for her hand and kissed the back of it.
“I don’t deserve you.”
She smiled, taking in every detail of his face. There was nowhere else she wanted to be. Then she remembered Guy’s Titties.
“What about everyone at the club?”
“All fine,” he answered quickly as if reading her mind before she even asked.
“What about the police? Are you going to get into trouble?”
He smirked. “You’re cute. Get some rest. I’m making soup.” Evander got up and left the room.

Two Weeks Later
“You’re home early,” she said.
Evander’s contract had been much easier than expected.
He’d gotten the target in his sites from the high-rise across from the office building within minutes.
It was clean and precise. The first thing that entered his thoughts as he packed up his rifle, was Callie waiting for him at home.
It was nice to actually have something worth going home to.
Before she’d come into his world, life had been sterile and empty. Now he looked forward to each day.
“And I brought you something.” He’d had his hand behind his back since walking through the door.
“What is it?” She ran her hands up his chest with the excitement of a child.
“Just a little something.”
“I don’t care what it is.”
He revealed the wildflowers he’d picked for her.
It was absolutely crazy for a man like him to see flowers along the side of the roadway and think about how Callie would love them.
Evander was out picking them like some fucking asshole after finishing his contract, but he didn’t care. Her happiness was everything to him.
“Do you like them or would you prefer roses?”
“Oh, no, these are perfect. I love them so much. Thank you.” She reached up on her toes to kiss his cheek.
Being pent-up for weeks while she recuperated meant that single kiss made his dick hard as lead. And she smelled so fucking good, like vanilla and her fancy shampoo. As she examined her flowers, he snatched them away from her, making her gasp lightly.
“Later,” he said. “Right now, I need to be balls-deep inside you.”
Her mouth opened but no sound came out. She was fully healed now with a few almost faded bruises left, but she said a while ago they didn’t hurt anymore.
He backed her up until she collided with the wall in the hallway. Evander grabbed each of her thick thighs and hoisted her up, rubbing his hard cock against her cunt. She moaned, wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Do you think you can handle me, baby?”
Callie nodded.
“Say it.”
“Yes, I want you, Evander…”
He immediately silenced her words with his mouth, kissing her with the intensity of his feelings for her. The more they kissed, the more his need grew.
There was no way he’d make it back to the bedroom.
Rather, he hoisted her higher and carried her around the corner to the kitchen.
He set her on the edge of the granite island, then reached under her to remove her panties.
She helped him by wiggling back and forth.
Then she lifted her arms as he slipped off the oversized t-shirt she liked to wear around the house.
She was braless. He growled as he took in every inch of her. Her tits were huge, sloping out into tempting peaks.
“You’re all mine,” he said. Evander leaned down and painted around her areola with his tongue before sucking her nipple into his mouth. She cried out, tossing her head back.
He kissed down her body, over her soft stomach, and down her thighs. When he reached her knees, he spread her legs apart as far as they could go, exposing her completely. Her pussy was pink and perfect, begging him to devour her.
“Such a pretty pussy.”
He leaned over and lapped at her folds, making her cry out. Then he stood back up.
“I don’t think you’re ready. You should rest.”
The look on her face was exactly what he wanted to see. She wanted him between her legs, and he loved the way her lips appeared swollen and eyes glassy when she was horny.
“Evander!”
He obliged her, suckling her clit until her body relaxed on the island, her hands searching for anything to anchor her.
He savored her, fucking her with his tongue and bringing her close to the edge.
Her little bud was ripe and he was relentless as he sucked her, enjoying her thrash and moan for release.
Only he didn’t let her cross over. Not yet.
As he pulled back, she reached for him. “Please…”
“Don’t worry, baby, I’ll take care of you.”
He unzipped and kicked off his pants. She clawed at his shirt, helping him remove it. Once he had his cock in his hand, he tugged her to the edge of the counter and impaled himself deep into her hot little cunt.
Evander groaned. She felt tight and wet and perfect.
He’d been waiting so long for this moment, and it was worth the wait.
He fucked her hard, holding each hip, ramming his dick inside her.
She held his shoulders, spurring him on with her nails.
They’d have endless nights for tenderness, but tonight wasn’t one of them.
He needed to claim his woman hard and fast. Her pussy was pulsing around him, so close to coming all over his dick.
“Come for me, Callie. Let me feel you milking my cock.”
He worked her faster and deeper, pulling her hair until she finally cried out, the orgasm rushing through her body.
He could feel it, her body tightening all around him.
It was all he needed to come inside her, pumping until he was completely spent.
He pulled out and scooped her body into his arms, carrying her to their bedroom.
“I’m too heavy,” she said as he carried her up the final steps to their room.
“You’re not too heavy.”
He used his foot to open the door and set her on the bed.
She was fucking luscious, and he wouldn’t change a thing about her.
Evander exhaled as he settled into bed next to her, tucking her up close to his side.
Byron was gone, and they were safe. He’d be smarter next time, but it wouldn’t matter.
He wasn’t giving her up. Callie was still his obsession, but he’d take care of her. Love her. Make her life worth living.
“I was so scared that night,” she confessed. “I thought we were going to die.”
“You were so brave.”
“I wasn’t,” she said. “You were. You never lose your cool.”
“Are you kidding me? I was terrified of losing you. I would have searched the world and turned it upside down until I found you.” He kissed her forehead.
“You’re the only one who ever made me feel special.” She closed her eyes, cuddling up closer.
“And I’m going to help you make all your dreams come true.”
Soon, they’d have that little dog retirement sanctuary out back on his sprawling country estate. What made her happy, surprisingly made him happy. He guessed that’s how love worked.
She was his. He may not deserve her, but he’d spend the rest of his life loving her.
The End
