34. Jamie
Jamie
I wake up to a mouthful of unruly golden curls, and I could not be happier.
Maya Winchester—my Maya—is in my bed, in my arms, and for the first time in forever, I don’t have the sinking urge that I need to leave.
She’s here, she’s safe, and she’s mine.
Running a hand gently over her cheek, I brush the curls away from her face, accidentally waking her up. Maya blinks the sleep from her eyes, looking around the room in the soft light coming in from behind the curtains.
“Good morning,” I laugh. The scrunch of her nose is adorable.
“What time is it?” she asks with a yawn.
“A little before seven, I think. My alarm hasn’t gone off yet.”
“Who wakes up before seven on a Saturday?” she groans, burrowing her face into my pillow, making me laugh.
“Someone who has what is quite possibly the biggest game of his career to date later tonight and couldn’t sleep any longer.”
At my admission, she sits up. “I forgot! Dani, Chloe, and I are going to go; I’ll be cheering you on.”
I push to sit up, smiling. “Good. Trying to impress you will make me play better.” Leaning in to kiss her, I smile as she squeals.
“I have morning breath!”
“Don’t care,” I say, rolling her over onto her back and hovering my body above hers. “I’m going to kiss you every chance I get.”
She melts into me, my words easing her worry as she kisses me in return. My morning hard-on morphs into an all-out erection at the feel of her warm body under me, arching into me, covered only by one of my t-shirts.
She pushes her hips up into mine, growing just as excited as I am—as if we didn’t spend all night wrapped in each others’ bodies. She raises a hand to my chest, pushing me back and climbing on top of me, straddling me.
Rotating her hips, she grinds her bare pussy over the front of my shorts, along my shaft, causing my head to spin. “Fuck, love.”
Maya reaches for the hem of the t-shirt, pulling it over her head so that she’s fully nude, and I groan at the sight. Leaning up, I capture one perky pink nipple between my lips and suck, scraping my teeth over the sensitive skin when she sighs, and then moving to do the same on the other side.
Hands on her hips, I guide her over me again, loving the way she feels in my grasp.
“Take your shorts off,” she commands softly, tugging my face from her chest. I eye the small red marks my teeth left behind with a lustful stare.
She rises up on her knees enough for me to shimmy out of my shorts, and when she grabs my cock, lining me up with her entrance, I’m so worked up I have to fight not to come on the spot.
Maya lowers herself down until she’s seated with my cock buried fully inside her. My hands find her waist as she leans her head back, sitting tall with her breasts and the slender column of her neck on full display as she begins to ride me.
She’s a vision—a scene out of a dream—and my gaze lingers on every gorgeous curve, every delicate inch.
The feel of her pussy clenching around me as she arches back and forth nearly send me over the edge all too quickly. I rub her clit with the pad of my thumb, matching her languid pace and smirking when she moans. I thrust my hips up as I rub, hitting deeper, and cause her movements to stutter.
“Oh, God,” she sighs, running her nails over my abdomen in a way that drives me insane.
“You ride me so good, baby. That’s it. Are you going to come for me?” My words seem to have her more and more frenzied, and her motion speeds up as she gets closer to the brink.
I reach up, pinching one firm nipple as I speed up my thumb on her clit.
“I—I’m gonna—Jamie, don’t stop. Fuck,” she mutters, borderline incoherently, and a second later, her inner walls clamp down around me as she quakes, digging her fingers into my chest to ground herself.
Her eyes meet mine, heavy lidded with lust as she comes with my name on her lips, and it all but pulls my own release from me.
I let out a groan loud enough for the whole house to hear, if any of my roommates are awake yet, pumping up into her.
The warm, wet liquid of our combined orgasms leaking out around me.
Maya collapses onto my chest, and I hold her tight as we catch our breath. When my heart rate comes back down below the speed of sound, I stand, carrying her with me to the shower.
Maya leaves shortly after, getting an Uber back to her apartment before Simmons or Gally wake up and could potentially see her. I offered to make her breakfast and bring it up to my room, but she declined, despite my best attempts.
After she’s gone and I’ve gone back upstairs to pack my gear bag, I head down to the kitchen and find Gally standing over the stove, making eggs and bacon.
“Morning,” I greet, dodging around him to get into the fridge.
“Morning, Jamie,” he replies, a teasing lilt to his voice as he laughs. “Sounded like you started your morning off right.”
I feel heat creep up the back of my neck as he speaks, accepting that he’d heard us but praying he didn’t recognize Maya’s voice.
Not that I think Gally would say anything to anyone, but the less people who know about us, the better, and the captain sleeping with the coach’s daughter would be a tough secret to keep from the entire team.
“Does your friend want to come down for breakfast and introduce herself?” he asks, looking over his shoulder at me with a smirk, and I breathe out a sigh of relief that Maya’s identity remains anonymous.
“No, she—uh—already left,” I say, grabbing the milk to make a protein shake.
“Too bad. I would’ve liked to meet the girl who, not only got to spend the night, but has a nickname for you, too. Finally find someone special, Cap?”
The lie tastes bitter on my tongue before it even leaves my mouth, but I have to deny it—deny that Maya is someone special to me—otherwise the team will get too curious about why I haven’t brought my new girl around to meet them.
“No,” I chuckle, hoping to feign both embarrassment and indifference. “She’s no one. Someone I met at Ale Mary’s last night and got carried away.”
Gally smirks, but whether it’s because he believes me or because he knows I’m full of shit, I can’t tell.
“I’ve been living with you for four years, Book. You hardly ever bring girls home to spend the night.”
At this, I shrug, “Might be our last game tonight. I was feeling wild.”
Drew shuffles into the kitchen at that moment, looking bedraggled and grumpy. “Fuck you, Jay. Waking up at the ass crack of dawn to get laid better not become a regular thing. I need my ears bleached.” he groans, rubbing his eyes.
I shoot him a pointed look behind Gally’s back before he can say anything else.
“It’s not. One time thing,” I say, trying to communicate with my eyes for him to drop it.
He finally wakes up enough to grin at me before grabbing an orange off the counter.
“You know who the girl was, Drewski?” Gally asks, ever the nosy motherfucker.
Thankfully, Drew shakes. his head. “Nah, I left the bar before he did, so I didn’t see who he was with.
” Drew feeds into my story perfectly, and it’s not entirely a lie.
We did go to the bar last night with some of the guys—Gally just happened to go to his girlfriend’s house instead.
And Drew did leave before me, but it’s because I’d sent him to go pick Maya up, knowing I couldn’t take my Camaro over to her place.
Unfortunately, now it seems if I ever want Maya to come over again, we’re going to have to be very quiet, or Gally’s going to have to be out of the house.
