Athena Kings
I knew she was slightly upset but she didn't show it much as she cuddled into my side, her eyes focused on the television. I placed the fork at her mouth and she parted her lips slightly. I rolled my eyes at her behaviour and parted her lips.
Lauren giggled and she took the fork in her mouth.
She chewed the chicken as she watched Big Man took down a few last men.
"Sweet Tooth, we have to leave." Big Man said as he urged them out of the hut.
I fed her some more of my food and she looked up at me.
"What's with the change of behavior?"
I rolled my eyes.
"I didn't say I wasn't going to give you any." I told her. Lauren hummed and trained her eyes back to the television.
I— we finished eating soon and I got up from the bed, laying her head gently on the pillow. I threw the box away and took up the bag with the toys.
"Coming?" I asked her and she shook her head, her eyes still on the tv.
"No. I want to finish this."
I nodded and left her in the room and went to clean the toys. Afterwards, I went back to our room and got in bed beside her. I took her back in my arms and pecked her forehead.
"Give me attention." I muttered as I pressed a kiss to her soft cheek. Lauren pushed my head away but that didn't stop me from pressing a kiss to her lips.
She smiled but pushed my head away nonetheless.
The episode ended and she finally turned to look at me. Lauren rested her hand on my cheek and pressed her lips to mine for a short period before pulling back. She smiled at me and pecked my pout.
"I love you."
"I love you." I muttered back.
"Stop being a baby. I'm almost done with season two." She told me.
"And then you're gonna watch season three right after."
"No." She drawled out. "I'm going to give my clingy girlfriend attention."
"You should be giving me attention right now."
Lauren laughed when I pulled her on top of me. She leaned up, straddling me and rested her hands on my chest.
"In a few minutes."
"Previously on Sweet Tooth..."
"You're so clingy." Lauren poked my breast and I narrowed my eyes at her.
"Are you calling me annoying?"
"Did it sound like I just said that?"
"Basically, yeah."
Lauren narrowed her eyes at me and she raised my top to my breasts and looked at them approvingly and then pulled down the top.
"I definitely could see you with nipple piercings." Lauren said and nodded in thought. "Yes."
I smirked slightly and placed my hands on her waist.
"The movie has started. Let me go." She got off my waist and I laughed at how eager she was to watch the movie.
Lauren laid down in my arms once more and we got comfortable cuddling each other. I started to watch the movie with her. I didn't know when I fell asleep, but I did.
~
I woke up before Lauren and I let her go carefully, trying my best to not wake her up.
I got up and went to the bathroom to do my morning routine and took a shower.
I got dressed in a sweatshirt and biker shorts and went to the kitchen.
Connecting my phone to the speakers, I started to prepare breakfast for us: blueberry pancakes sided with fruits and a cup of coffee.
I sensed her waking up and I smiled to myself.
I love this girl. I know I do, like really do but lone realization always hits harder.
Never have I ever thought I'd be here, cooking for a woman — my mate.
Never have I ever thought I'd even accept her.
Back then, I'd ways avoid her, avoid sleeping in my room after she cleaned it and avoid the places in which she cleaned because her scent would be all over.
Even then, I still went back to the room, ruffle around so that she could come and linger, leaving her scent in my room.
That was one thing I couldn't ignore— her sweet, mouthwatering scent.
I love everything about Lauren.
She makes me so fucking happy and the happiness I feel makes me want to give her the world. I'd kiss the ground she walks on if she asks.
Oooh, who would've thought I'd get youuu.
And when we're making love, your cries can be heard from far and wide.
It's only the two of us.
Everything I need between those thighs.
Everytime I look into your eyes I see it.
You're all I need.
I hummed to the lyrics as I swayed, flipping the pancakes in the pot. Arms wrapped around my waist and I smiled.
"Good morning." Lauren muttered as she laid her head on my head.
"Good morning." I said in a sing-song voice and turned. I wrapped my arms back around her and pecked her forehead.
I adjusted her bonnet and cupped her face.
Lauren smiled and I pecked her lips numerous times.
I'm in love with this girl.
"Teach me how to mindlink you." I read her mind.
"There's nothing to teach you if I can already read your mind and I'm the only one who can do so."
"Oh."
I hummed.
"Well teach me how to block you from my mind. I need privacy."
"Mind, set a reminder to ask Athena about this later." I laughed out loud as I repeated the words she told herself.
Lauren pinched my hip and frowned.
"Stay out of my mind."
I grinned and turned in her arms again, picking up the spatula and removed the pancake from the pot. I poured another in and rested the stuff down.
"Just imagine a wall going up in your mind and your thoughts staying within that wall." I told her. Lauren released her arms from around me and went to sit down on the stools.
She focused really hard, scrunching her eyebrows together and I watched in amusement.
"Can you tell what I'm thinking?"
Lalalal, you can't read my mind. Can you read my mind? Why do you always pry?
"You talk too much. Focus on the main thing that you're trying to do."
Lauren frowned at my words.
"Take a deep breath and relax." I instructed.
I folded my arms as I watched her inhale and exhale a few times. She stared at the marble counters and I could feel her block her thoughts from my mind.
"Good job, baby." I walked towards her and pecked her cheek. Lauren blushed and I pecked her lips.
"I can't wait to go to Faerie Land. It sounds like such a fairytale." She said as I walked back to the stove to flip the pancake.
"It looks like one." I said. "But in its state currently, it looks like an apple rotting."
"How bad is grim magic, really?"
I magically made the pancake finished quicker and turned the stove off. My patience was wearing thin.
"Very bad. The slight touch of it can kill you.
" I shared our breakfast evenly and washed the fruits.
"It can also corrupt you, give you magic, take away your magic, give you riches and so much more but there's a downside to all of it.
" I started cutting the apple. "As time passes, it takes pieces and pieces of your soul along with it and it corrupts you dearly.
This type of corrupting doesn't have a cure and the only way be rid of it is by death. "
I placed her plate in front of her and another with the fruits. I slid the bottle of syrup on the table and placed mine on the table too. I zapped the coffee maker and two cups were awaiting the machine to finish making the coffee.
I sat down and Lauren looked at the coffee maker in amusement.
"That is so cool."
I chuckled.
"I can teach you magic if you'd like."
Her eyes twinkled as she stared at me.
"Really?"
I nodded and Lauren grinned.
"Whenever you're ready."
"After all the grim magic business." I scrunched my nose in distaste of the mention.
"Okay!" She dug into her food and so did I.
Transform by Daniel Caesar played and I would occasionally hum along to the song and so would Lauren.
After breakfast finished up, we headed to my office to check the status of the hole. Lauren didn't stick around with me because she went to hang out with Solana.
