Chapter 11

Chapter Eleven

Killian

Iglance at her, listening to the boots sounding on the ground around us and the shouting that I can’t quite make out.

Well, this just got even more interesting.

Liliana looks at me like she’s going to kill me if she gets half the chance, and I can’t help that my cock is twitching.

There’s this wild look in her eyes now that I’m looking into them so closely.

The boots get louder, and I know it’s time to sprint into action. Reaching inside my suit jacket, I pull the gun out of the holster and point it at the door, ready to shoot them one by one. My cock twitches again in excitement.

“When I tell you to run, you need to run like fucking hell, and don’t you dare look back, do you understand?” I ask, letting go of her jaw and straightening up. “Can you run in those?” Pointing my gun at her feet, she nods, glancing down at the heels she’s wearing.

“Yes. Not as fast as I can without, but it should be fine.”

“Don’t fucking trip or I’ll leave you behind.”

I shove the door open before she has the chance to say anything else, grabbing her by the hand and tugging her out of the room.

She drops my hand as soon as she can, and I take off running. She’s quick behind me. Each time I glance back, she’s nearly on my heels. Quite impressive.

“This way,” I say as the sound of gunshots erupts behind us, pinging off the walls as we quickly turn a corner. Liliana nearly falls, but I grab her, keeping her on her feet and shoving her in front of me toward a door that I know leads outside.

For the first time, I am grateful to have someone waiting hand and foot on me.

The door opens, and Donal stands there with a rifle in his hands, an open car door beside him.

I shove Lilian toward the door, and she tumbles into the car with all the grace of a baby elephant trying to walk for the first time.

I get in the car with her, slamming the door shut while Donal gets into the driver’s seat.

He tosses his rifle onto the passenger seat before gunning it through the gravel lot, dodging cars that appear out of nowhere.

It doesn’t look like anyone is pursuing us when I look back over my shoulder, but I don’t trust Nico.

Especially not if he’s working with someone and plans on fucking up my life now that I’ve taken something he wants.

Liliana leans back in the seat, breathing heavily, her eyes closed and her cheeks stained with tears.

She looks less like the spoiled brat she’s known to be back in Providence.

She almost looks innocent sitting there with her body angled in the corner, making sure she can keep both Donal and me in her sights at all times.

“Why does Nico have such an issue with your father?” I ask, reaching over and pulling the seatbelt across her body as Donal accelerates, weaving quicker through the traffic, nearly getting us T-boned when he takes a turn too fast.

She opens her eyes, staring daggers at me. “You mean the guy with that tacky diamond tooth? I’m sure it has something to do with the male ego. My dad had a list of enemies. Comes with the title.”

“Well, he clearly has an odd obsession with you,” I sneer. “Your father’s been dead long enough for someone like Nico not to care about getting even anymore.” I rub the back of my neck.

“Where to?” Donal asks.

Looking at Donal through the mirror, I respond. “Rostrevor.” I point the gun at Liliana since I don’t have anything to tie her down with.

“I want to go home,” Liliana says, her tone firm, but there’s a slight quiver to her bottom lip that lets me know she’s worried. “Why aren’t you taking me back?”

“I have uses for you.”

Fear flashes in her eyes, sweat beading on her forehead. “Like what?”

“I bought you. That means that I get to do whatever I want with you.” I yawn, tilting my head back against the seat, keeping the gun in place, still pointing at her.

Her fingers claw into the seat. “No one sent you to rescue me?”

“Rescue you?” I laugh. “I wouldn’t have spent that much money to save a woman. Or anyone, for that matter.”

To my utter surprise, she lunges at me, almost securely taking the gun out of my hand.

I manage to wrestle her onto her stomach, the gun pointing at the back of her head while my other hand tightly grips her wrists.

Using my body as weight to pin her down, I have to fight my building erection.

When I push my hips into her, letting my cock knock fear right into her, she stops moving.

I could have fucked her right here, and under different circumstances I would have, but right now I need to secure her.

Using my mouth, I find the string to her hoodie and grab it with my teeth, pulling it out.

“I can either blow your brains out or you can live if you let me tie you up.”

She lets out an annoyed noise, muttering something under her breath that I don’t catch, but then again, I don’t really care.

Applying pressure with my hip, my cock at the small of her back, I want her to concede.

Once she does, I tie her up at her wrists and sit her back in the corner.

To my surprise, she remains silent the remainder of the ride.

We arrive at the house, and Donal and I step out of the car.

“Are we back in the business of selling tricks?” Donal asks almost hopefully.

“I didn’t take over The Reapers to become a pimp,” I reply. “All ties to that will forever be cut off.”

He nods, although he does not seem satisfied with the answer. “I thought you took down Margo to take over his traffic ring. It would really put The Reapers on the map over here.” He crosses his arms over his chest. “Seems like you’re more interested in keeping the Costellos in power.”

He has ticked a nerve. “Trust the process, Donal.”

“You’ve proven yourself as a leader, but if we don’t have money and power, then we have nothing. You let them kill more than half of our men, and they won’t help us push out the Russians.”

I can’t argue the truth. “We secured the docks in Providence. We have more territory now than when Reilly was in power. And now we have leverage.” I nod to the car.

“That’s one of Tomasso Andretti’s daughters.

The Andretti family ties with the Costellos are unbreakable.

So you’re going back to Rhode Island while I stay here.

Don’t speak a word of this to anyone. I’m going to wait until Cameron calls me.

I know he will when they can’t find her. ”

“Won’t it look suspicious to our men when you don’t return with me?”

“Tell them I’m working on something to really put us on the map.”

He huffs, hesitating, but has no choice but to agree. “You’re able to handle that one?” he nods to the car. “She can put up a fight. Thought I was going to have to come save you in the back seat.”

“Don’t worry about that. I’ll sedate her if needed.”

Walking over to the other side of the car, I open the door and yank her, letting her stumble out. Donal doesn’t wait to peel away once the passenger door shuts.
