Chapter 19
Chapter Nineteen
Killian
We get back to Aunt Maeve’s, where the cottage is quiet. Darius and Cameron were right; these sisters aren’t scared off easily. Too bad I like the challenge.
JoJo nods to me. “We have one saved to see what we can get out of him. The clean-up crew is here.”
“You got a chain?” I won’t let Liliana go. I dragged her by the hair all the way back.
JoJo sees her in distress. “What for?”
“Does it matter?” I shoots back.
“Well, I’m a bit nosy.” He smirks. “Looking to tie her up?”
“More like a leash.”
“What?!” Liliana snaps but shuts up when I yank her hair.
“There’s the dog’s old leash. Looks like a chain.”
“Good enough,” I grunt and enter the cottage, stepping over bodies.
“Mickey is in the kitchen,” one of my brother’s men says while he helps remove the dead bodies from the house.
I nod my head and head toward the kitchen where all my brothers and Aunt Maeve are gathered.
“Killian! You’re okay.” She sighs in relief.
I toss Liliana in a chair. “I’m alive, thankfully.” I grab her shoulder tightly. “Right, Liliana?”
Her eyes shoot up at me. “Thankfully,” she forces out.
Just then, JoJo tosses me a metal chain leash. I wrap the metal link collar around Liliana’s neck.
“What a boring Tuesday night.” Trevor yawns.
“Speak for yourself.” Leon smirks. “I kill shot more men in one night than I did all last week.”
Mickey takes a drag of his beer. “Your shooting has gotten a lot better, JoJo.”
My youngest brother looks at me. “If Killian stays longer, maybe I can be as good as he is.”
All my brothers don’t move, but their eyes glance at me.
I know they miss me; hell, I miss them more.
The plan to stay in America was temporary.
Now that I’m head of The Reapers, I can’t abandon them until there’s someone else to take over, and that can’t happen because Alessio is only willing to work with The Reapers if I’m in charge.
I don’t owe Alessio anything, but I owe The Reapers for taking me under their wing when I had nothing.
“I’ll make it a habit to visit more,” I reply.
“And it’s your lucky day. I’ll teach you how to get information out of someone.
” I turn to Mickey. “We can make our way back to Mum’s place.
” I look to the twins. “Scope out the house and get the barn ready.” I feel the wave of excitement.
“JoJo, I’ll need a machete, pliers, hammer, and anything else you want to learn to use on a body.
” Looking between my brothers, I say, “I want to know why I’m being hunted down in Rostrevor, like I don’t belong here. "
My brothers smile in compliance.
“Want to show off your skills?” Mickey laughs. “This will be fun. I can’t remember the last time us Boswell brothers got some good bonding time.” He looks to Liliana. “No sense in crying, love. Tears don’t change reality.”
When I look down at her wet face, a part of me knows I can’t keep her safe here. Hell, we may be even more dangerous than the people I bought her from.
“And the girl?” Mickey glances at Liliana, who sits there with wide eyes.
“She goes where I go,” I reply.
