Chapter 39

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Killian

Ihear the bedroom door open but don’t bother to check who comes in. By the footsteps and scent, I can tell it’s Liliana. It is dark in here, all the shades shut to keep any daylight out, as I lie on the floor staring up at the ceiling.

“You should eat,” Liliana says. I can hear her put a plate down on the coffee table near the sitting area in front of the fireplace. “Izzy made tuna sandwiches.”

“Just because you stitch me up doesn’t mean you get to tell me what to do.”

She huffs. “Your bandage needs to be replaced.”

There is a sudden cast of sun that shoots into the room when Liliana opens the shade.

“Here I am.” My hands are behind my head.

She walks up to me holding new gauze, looking down at me. It’s amusing how she tries not to look at my body on purpose. She kneels at my side and carefully removes the bandage she placed there earlier.

“How’s it looking, doc?”

“You need a real doctor,” she replies.

“I told you already, no.”

She rolls her eyes. “I’m not here to argue with you.”

“Here for something else?” My pants are already unbuckled, and I thrust my hips up a little for implication.

“Ugh,” she protests with disgust, but when she bites her lip, I have no doubt she would let me inside her.

She continues to put on clean gauze. “Who did this?”

I shrug. “Doesn’t matter.”

“Was it because of me?” she asks.

“Would it matter if I say yes?” I shoot back.

“Apparently, if you die, your blood is on my hands.”

“Well, I guess that makes both of us.” Someone said something to her. My siblings are nice until they have a reason not to be. Us Boswells are the same.

She finally looks at me. “Do you hate me?”

“You are the reason I have a target on my back and that I’m in this position to begin with.”

“Alessio will help you,” she says confidently.

“Of course he will.” I smile. “A man weak for pussy will always crumble.”

“Don’t talk about him like that,” she spits out. “He’s a good person.”

“Is he?” I challenge. “Anyone with Costello blood is never really a good person at heart.”

“You don’t know him like I do.” She’s getting angry.

“How many days has it been?” I shoot back, grunting as I sit up. “He still hasn’t come through with his end of the deal. That’s the only reason you’re still here.”

She gulps, at a loss for words.

“He’s just a little bitch,” I continue to provoke her. “And until he comes through on his end, you’re my little bitch.” I nod to the food. “Feed me.”

“Your arms and hands are fine.” She tries to get to her feet but is weighed down when I push down on her shoulder so I can get to my feet.

“Stay on your knees.”

I walk over to my dresser and pull out the leash. I swear her eyes light up. She doesn’t protest when I attach it to her collar. Walking to a chair by the coffee table, I tug on the leash and sit down. Liliana crawls to me.

“Now feed me, you little bitch.”
