CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

H aving Cady in the house is…both weird and amazing. I can already see how she’s pulling us together. We all had dinner together last night. At the table . I have no idea when the last time that happened was.

And in the car yesterday? Best ten minutes of my life. Playing CJ between Mattie and me like an instrument while I made her come on my fingers…no other car ride will ever live up. I waited an embarrassingly long amount of time to wash my hands after too, but Mattie finally convinced me.

I’m at the stove, cooking up pancakes for everyone when I feel a body at my back. “Mmmm it smells like our omega in here,” Mattie’s voice rumbles in my ear as he grinds his erection on my ass. “And…Ollie?”

“Hmmm,” I hum, tilting my ass up to reach him as I flip a pancake. “Seems like our little omega couldn’t sleep last night and snuck down for a midnight snack. Ollie…followed.”

Mattie purrs as he nips my ear. Ah, fuck. Now I have a boner while I’m making pancakes.

A fresh wave of orange blossoms and vanilla fill the area, having both Mattie and I whipping our heads to the side. Cady and Ollie are standing in the doorway. She looks downright adorable in a pair of my sweatpants, the drawstrings pulled tight, and one of Simon’s t-shirts. Her long, blonde hair is in a braid that falls over her shoulder, and her blue green eyes are filled with heat as they stay glued to where Mattie’s hard cock meets my ass. She obviously likes what she sees if her perfume is any indication. I wink at her before turning my head up to meet his lips in a dirty kiss.

CJ likes to watch? We’ll give her a show.

Mattie returns my kiss before swatting my ass and backing away. “Behave, cucciolo .”

“If I recall, I was just minding my own business making pancakes, when you started to grind on me, alpha.”

Mattie just rolls his eyes and goes to CJ, whose cheeks are now flushed with obvious desire. “I apologize, tesoro mio. We will try to be more aware of our public displays of affection.”

I roll my eyes. Did he not catch the wave of perfume when she saw us?

“No!” CJ says, too quickly. I suppress a chuckle as she shoots me a dirty look. “I just mean, it’s your own house. You should be able to do what you want. And I…uh…” She turns even more red. “I…”

“Oh,” Mattie’s voice is laced with understanding. “Did you enjoy what you saw, tesoro mio ?”

Ollie snorts. “Shit. I’m not even into guys and I liked what I saw.” CJ nods in agreement.

Mattie just chuckles at Ollie’s antics and presses a brief kiss to CJ’s lips. “Then I supposed that is something to explore at a later date.”

Then he goes into the dining room, and I hear her mutter to herself, “Hopefully not too much later.”

I can’t hold back in my laugh this time, and Cady flushes a deeper red before she follows after him, and I can finally make my pancakes in peace.

When I bring the stacks of fluffy goodness into the dining room, all eyes are the plates as I set them on the table. There’s already a mountain of bacon, fresh fruit, and scrambled eggs set out family-style. I may have gone all out, but it’s not every day your scent-matched omega has her first real meal with your pack.

“Fuck yeah! Archie makes the best pancakes!” Ollie cheers. I try not to blush at the praise, but seeing CJ’s eyes light up in response has my heart fluttering. How is it that I can have her catch me with an alpha grinding on my ass and smirk, but the thought that she might enjoy the food I make has me feeling like my heart is going to burst?

“How did you sleep, sweetheart?” Simon asks once everyone’s plates are loaded with food.

“I couldn’t fall asleep at first, but felt much better after a midnight snack.” She smiles softly at him, which he returns.

“I think I’m the one who had a snack.” Ollie smirks, and CJ’s arm flies out to smack him in the chest. She looks almost shocked at herself for a second, her eyes wide and mouth slightly agape, but then Ollie starts laughing, a great big belly laugh, and soon we’re all joining in. Even Titus chuckles and shakes his head.

“So, what do you all have going on today?” Cady asks once the laughter dies down.

“What about a movie day?” Mattie asks, looking around the table. “It’s been too long since we’ve all spent the day together. The couches upstairs can be pushed together to make a giant couch bed.”

Everyone agrees, and Cady goes upstairs to get all her blankets and pillows to make the couch bed as nest-like as possible.

We all stare after her as she disappears, and I can’t help but let out a contented sigh. This is how things were always meant to be.
