Epilogue Winston

At first, I thought life was perfect. Cats ruling the house, humans catering to our every whim. But then the humans multiplied.

Triplets! Jerk-face talks constantly about how his three boys will follow in his footsteps and play hockey someday.

Egads.

Babies crawl after me endlessly, squealing, tugging at my fur. One catches my tail, sticks it in its drooling mouth, and laughs like it has won a prize.

Torture. Pure torture.

I glare at Scott, who only laughs. “The babies love you, Winston,” he says, as if that makes it better.

No. It does not. A new war has begun.

Still, I have to admit… Holly is happy. Scott is happy. Even Duchess seems content. Fine. I’m a little proud of what we’ve built.

But don’t tell Scott that. He still has litter box duty. As far as the scoreboard is concerned, the arrival of the little humans means he’s finally evened things up.

Cats 5. Scott 5.

For now.

I look at my queen and wink at her. I’m already planning the tiebreaker.

I hope you enjoyed this funny little story, an offshoot from my Puckers Series.

While this story, The Labor Date, has sweet and steamy romcom vibes, the rest of the Puckers series has plenty of humorous moments, and even more steam and romance.
