CHAPTER 19
JOURNAL OF SOPHIE WULTZ
I have a secret and it’s a good one. Jenna told Prista who told Mandolin that my dad’s sister was someone famous and that there is a movie about her and everything. I told Mandolin to tell Prista to tell Jenna that I already knew my dad’s sister was famous and that she’s such a dork.
I don’t even think my dad has a sister.
Of course, I’m not going to admit that, especially because Mandolin is finally paying attention to me and her house is the biggest in the neighborhood and she has a pony. Bridget is my best friend now, but I could see Mandolin taking over. Though ... as rich and cool as Mandolin is, Bridget is way chiller and agrees with everything I say.
It’s important that you have friends like that. Mom calls them feeder friends. She says that and I imagine a bunch of those scary fish that all jump together on a person and eat them. Instead, I think of people like Bridget as my cheerleaders. Like a fan club.
I like having fans and I like the idea that Dad’s sister—my aunt—is famous. Maybe she’ll be my ticket into Hollywood and how I become a star.
Now I just have to find out what she’s famous for.
And if she actually exists.
