6. Chapter 6

My stomach once again fluttered with nervous excitement.

After lunch, I hadn’t been in the same class as Damon and I missed him fiercely.

It was only the knowledge of us soon shifting together that made waiting possible.

I was certain my class with Willa had been the longest ever and now I was impatiently rocking on my heels outside of the academy, exactly where Damon and I promised to meet up.

I had dressed in my brown robe with a gold clasp and had my beige blouse underneath with some brown leather pants.

I just hoped Damon would appreciate the sight of me in something this tight.

I would never wear it for anyone else, but my butt did look amazing in the pants.

Too bad, the robe was hiding it from view.

Other students filed out of the academy, each likely needing to shift and spend some time before dinner in their shifted forms. Just like Damon and I had planned.

We would shift and then return once it was dinner time.

I couldn’t wait to see his lion, to graze my fangs along his neck as he did the same to me, both of us then purring and rubbing our scents onto one another.

I felt my lion strut around with pride at the thought alone.

“Wow,” Damon’s awe-filled voice reached me and I turned to find him with three wicker baskets, looking me up and down with wide eyes. “You look amazing.”

I preened, smiling widely. The tight pants were worth the discomfort. Seeing him eye me like I was his next meal did things to me. Delicious things.

“You’re looking amazing as well,” I purred, admiring his black robe with a silver clasp, his pants a dark brown with a tight purple shirt underneath. It was so tight I could even see his pecs. Delicious. “What are you carrying?” I asked, stepping forward to grab one of them.

He blushed, but handed one over to me. “I thought we could eat on the mountain… like a date, or something.”

My smile only widened. My mate was too damn precious. He’d planned a date for us? “You’re so damn perfect, my bunny,” I whispered before crushing my lips to his, needing to touch what was mine. He made a low whimper. His hands fisted my robe as he kissed me back with the same hunger I felt for him.

He broke the kiss, breathing hard. “We need to fly out before my dragon tries to claim you again.”

I laughed at that. “You make it sound like a threat and not a good time.” I waggled my brows, making him laugh as well. I hadn’t heard him laugh that often, but each time my soul felt happy, like I’d accomplished something amazing.

We then grabbed the baskets and moved away from the academy entrance, knowing we needed the room to shift.

Once we were far enough away, we both shifted and carried the baskets.

Damon held two and I held one. When we were high enough into the air, I felt a peacefulness like no other.

This was the first time I’d flown in the day hours, even with the sun slowly moving down in the horizon.

The academy island was beautiful, full of lush green hills, a forested area and the cliffs and mountain.

And then there was the ocean, a vast and majestic thing, surrounding the island on all sides and making us secluded and safe.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Damon asked, flying right next to me as we admired the glistening waves. It looked like the water sparkled from up here.

“It really is,” I agreed. “I can’t wait to fly around in my kingdom with you, showing you all the hidden wonders.”

“I look forward to it.”

“There’s this one spot where my fathers lived briefly while fighting an evil queen. I’ve always wanted to see it,” I said, thinking about the waterfall I’d heard so much about.

“Then we’ll go see it together,” he agreed easily.

“We can also fly to your kingdom maybe? If it’s not too far from mine.” I then felt sort of shitty. I hadn’t even asked Damon if he was fine living with me at the palace. Did he even know I was a prince?

He sighed deeply. “I don’t want to go back to my kingdom. It can stay in my past. My home is with you and your family now.”

My mind was a gooey place filled with warm fuzzy feelings and happiness. Damon was my home too. But I needed to know something, “Have I told you that I’m a prince?”

“Nym told me,” Damon replied, his tone casual, which told me absolutely nothing about his feelings on the matter.

“And you’re okay with being royalty now?” I poked.

“If I get to keep you forever, then I don’t mind if we’re royalty or poor farmers barely making ends meet. I’ll be happy as long as I have you, Ryn.”

“Damn smooth talker,” I mumbled, feeling my chest ache with the amount of love I felt for him in return.

Damon just laughed as we descended on the mountain, visiting our little spot.

“Look! You can see where you ravished me on the grass!” I proudly ran over to the spot, loving the indentation in the grass. A clear sign of our claiming.

Damon was back in his human form, choking on air as he looked where I proudly preened.

I shifted back, simply because I needed to kiss my mate some more.

He chuckled as I wrapped my arms around him, our food forgotten as I leaned my weight into him, feeling how fast his heart was beating for me. Was my bunny nervous?

I cupped his cheeks, looking fondly into his lilac eyes, then kissed him. It was a slow kiss, a gentle caress of our tongues, unhurried and intimate. My bunny and I had all the time in the world, and if it were up to me, we could spend the rest of the evening sharing kisses and soft touches.

He chuckled as he broke the kiss. “Weren’t you all excited about us shifting today?”

I whined against his lips. “It’s not fair. I want all the things with you.”

He pecked a kiss on my lips, holding me tighter. “We have forever together, Ryn, remember that.”

I sighed dreamily. “Forever. Such an amazing word. It might be my new favorite.”

He laughed softly. “Come on, I want to show you my lion.” He stepped away and then he sat there, beautiful and regal.

My lion. My own lion was pushing inside of me, eager to shift and meet his mate.

I let the shift take over, purring loudly as I rubbed and nuzzled into him.

His answering purr rumbled between us, like we were sharing a song just for us to hear.

It was a beautiful moment, one I would treasure forever as we rubbed and lightly grazed each other’s throats, our fangs never breaking skin but still claiming one another.

I was the first to shift back, wanting to touch him in my human form. “You’re so pretty in my form,” I cooed. “But your bunny is still the softest.”

He purred, rubbing against my hand and seeking more pets.

“I think I’m ready for some food,” I admitted after a lot of petting and rubbing.

Damon shifted right in front of me, my hand still on his head as he sat there, smiling shyly at me.

I couldn’t help myself; he was too damn adorable.

I straddled him where he sat, pulling his head back by the nape and claimed his lips with mine, eager to taste him again.

No one was around us and we had all night together.

He moaned, grabbing my ass in both hands, palming my cheeks. It made me moan in return, his taste, his touch, so addictingly arousing.

“Can I fuck you?” I whispered, kissing down his neck and lightly nibbling at the skin.

He shivered under my touch and a raspy, “Please”, escaped him.

I groaned. “You’re so perfect for me,” I praised, loving that he was into being fucked too. I wanted to be claimed by him, but I wanted to claim him in return. To know he felt the same was a heady feeling.

Damon wiggled under me, then pulled out a tiny vial of oil from his inner robe pocket, blushing when he placed it in my hands.

I bit my bottom lip, excitement rushing through me and forgetting all about food. “You want me to prep you?” He nodded eagerly, still blushing. “Fuck, I might come with just my fingers inside of you,” I rasped.

“Then it’s a good thing we can keep going all night,” Damon whispered, his words so forward and blunt it made me speechless.

“Get naked,” I ordered, rushing out of my own clothes.
