Chapter 17

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

I THINK HE KNOWS BY TAYLOR SWIFT

I throw things from my closet like a mad woman, looking for a specific top that’s in my mind, but for some reason, nowhere to be found in my apartment.

I dig through the clothes that are scattered around and groan loudly to the point of possibly shaking the walls of the entire building. It has to be here somewhere.

“Kam, you have literally thrown around about fifty things you could wear, just pick something else!” Sienna is in the other room, but her voice carries into the closet.

“He said sparkly! The shirt I’m looking for is sparkly!” I think about Bellamy and feel the bottom of my stomach heat up.

He controls my emotions and he’s not even in the same building as I am. He’s not even within a mile radius of me.

“Okay, well, I promise it’s not that important… Here. This will fit the theme,” Sienna walks into my closet with a hot pink dress in her hands, and I turn away, almost throwing up in my mouth at the sight of it.

That isn’t my color.

“No. I don’t wear hot pink for a reason, it makes me look gross.”

She puts the dress down, raising her eyebrows.

“So why do you own it?” She asks, her arms cross over her chest.

“Because I bought it thinking it would be cute, and then realized it makes me look gross... I know I have this shirt, it’s just- AHA!”

Sienna holds her ear that’s closest to me, and I hold the shirt I’d been searching for. “Found it,” I smile through my words.

Sienna glares at me.

“I can see that,” Her voice radiates annoyance.

I walk out of the closet, and into my bedroom, my hands greedily reaching for the black leather pants I had already set out for myself.

I strip down to just my underwear and pull on the black pants that stick to my skin.

I fasten the chain metal shirt to my body, the diamonds attached to the metal, making it shimmer.

The material is cold on my bare skin. I turn around, throwing my hair over my shoulder to look at the outfit on my body.

It looks good. I look good. Sienna did my makeup, a dark cat eye, and I did my hair in loose curls before I got dressed.

Now all I need is shoes, so I pick up my heeled black boots. We have a winner.

“Okay, I’m ready!” I stand up after putting the shoes on, and Sienna is lying across my bed, her outfit, hair, and makeup already done.

She’s always more minimal than I am but always looks better than me.

Her makeup is gorgeous and perfectly done.

She’s in a tight fitting black dress that hugs her curvy body, and fishnets with diamonds and rhinestones meshed into them.

She’s wearing a pair of boots that complete the look.

Her legs look absolutely perfect, but her body always looks good.

She walks out of my room, and I follow. Both of us head to the door.

“Thank god,” She turns over her shoulder as we walk out. “You look hot, he’s definitely sleeping with you tonight if he hasn’t already.”

I shake my head as we walk down the hallway of my apartment building.

“The list says romantic first time. Though we’ve both already had sex, it will be our first time… Either way, he won’t do it after a party, that wouldn’t be romantic… Unless he has something super special planned.”

I doubt he’d do it tonight. We still have plenty of time until I go home, despite how badly I want him. I have a strong feeling he’s going to make me wait.

“There’s nothing more romantic than being so attracted to someone you can’t wait to jump their bones,” Sienna isn’t normally the type to speak on this, and I can’t help but think of her and Lawson, wondering if she’s speaking from experience…

She’s not wrong, Bellamy is definitely attractive enough.

I know that for a fact. Spontaneity is more my style, and not his.

Either way, things that happen outside of the list only complicate things more.

So maybe I’m fine with waiting too if it means we stick to the rules better. If I stick to the rules better.

“I don’t know. I guess we’ll see what happens. If I have to wait, then I’ll wait,” I smile lightly.

“God you like him more than I thought you did.”

We walk from my apartment now and toward her car.

“I do not. It’s like a little crush. He’s just really hot.”

“No, because you are always quick to have sex with someone, and there’s nothing wrong with that, not at all. You just don’t seem to be rushing it with Bellamy, because it’s not important to you with him. It’s just different from all the other guys you’ve talked to.”

The point she’s making is prominent and poking me, and I don’t like it. I do think about sex with Bellamy very often. But I also get nervous and excited about other things that have nothing to do with sex. That is a first for me.

“It is different because if I talk to other guys the intention is to get them in bed, I had no intentions with Bell at all until he made me do this list.”

She shrugs, “Whatever you say.”

I know she doesn’t actually agree with me, but I ignore that, and we get into her car, Fashionably late of course.

We drive and jam out the entire way. I call it my version of pregaming.

.. Pumping myself up for the party. At least I’m assuming that’s what’s happening.

He once again hasn’t told me a thing. Sienna knows of course, and she hasn’t denied my words when I’ve said party tonight.

Everyone involved knows. At least I got a dress code this time, that’s simply all I could have asked for.

Sienna looks somewhat nervous, her hands anxiously gripping the steering wheel.

The look on her face too. I know Sienna.

I know just last night she told me she had nothing to say about Lawson, but my boy senses are tingling.

If she’s being her normal self, she’s thinking about him right now just like she was on our way to the last party we attended together.

The party she suspiciously disappeared from at the same time as Lawson.

She is my best friend. I never pry, I hate it and she does too, but maybe if I ask just one more time she’ll give me at least an inch.

“Lawson is going to be here tonight. How is he?” I keep my voice casual.

“Hot, and available. Just like a pizza.”

I laugh, still having no answer, “So you and him are just-”

“Friends,” She cuts me off.

Her answer is far too quick and short. Normally I’d push this off as irritability, but she looks at me from the side, checking to see if I believe her. That’s her telltale sign.

Lies. She is so lying to me right now.

“Sienna Cole. You’re a lot of things, but you’re not a liar,” I raise my eyebrows at her, and she sighs.

“We’re complicated friends,” She admits. “Who might have slept together.”

I swear I suck every ounce of air out of the car with how hard I gasp.

“Since when!” My voice vibrates off of the walls of the car.

“Since Leah's party last week. Don’t ask. I don’t want to talk about it. We’re friends. That’s it,” Her voice is final, and I know better than to nag her anymore about it.

“At least tell me if it was good,” I eye her, watching her lips turn up into a smirk.

“He has a nice penis if that’s what you're asking.”

I have never heard Sienna talk about her sex life, not once, and it’s shocking, but I need more.

“It’s not about the size of the boat, it’s about the motion of the ocean, can he fuck or not?” I am practically in her lap over the center console.

“Oh my god, you are so gross. Yes, he was the best I’ve had, now sit down before you get us in an accident,” She pushes my shoulder back, and I bounce in the car seat, practically giddy over this newfound information.

“One more question,” I break the silence, and she groans.

“Kam! I can’t talk about it anymore. I don’t know what’s happening between us, but it’s not anything serious. Which is for the better. The minute I’m sure of anything will be the minute I spill it all, but until then-”

“Just tell me if you’re going to sleep with him again. Word on campus is he doesn’t sleep with the same girl twice,” I cut her off and she sighs.

“No, never again. Not by his choice, by mine,” She explains and my jaw is on the floor.

“So you’re telling me, Lawson Bennet. Mr. Hot and Available asked to sleep with you again and you said no? Do you have a vagina made of pure gold? Did you hypnotize him? Sienna, you’re like a sex goddess!” I’m practically shrieking, and she shakes her head.

“I don’t know what he’s thinking. I don’t care to know. We’re just friends,” She sounds matter of fact. “Stop smirking, and stop asking questions about Lawson,” She urges, and I cannot stop smirking even if she wants me to. I got enough information to suffice for now.

That doesn’t mean I’ll ever stop prying or trying to get her to have sex with Lawson again. He’s hot, and she’s hotter. They’d be unstoppable together.

Once Sienna pulls up to the boys’ apartment complex the two of us make our way through the building, and to their front door.

I can already hear music on the other side.

I look at Sienna, and she smiles, opening the door.

There are plenty of people crammed inside the apartment, and I scan the groups of people, my eyes inevitably finding Bellamy, who’s already found me.

He’s moving toward me before I’ve fully made it through the door.

Sienna is moving away, probably to find Lawson or a drink.

Bellamy wraps his empty hand around me, snaking it around my lower back.

He squeezes me tight, and I hug him back, pulling away so I can look at him.

“A party?”

“Not a normal party,” He turns me toward everything and everyone.

They’re all wearing nicer clothes, sparkly dresses, and heels. Everyone also has tacky New Year’s Eve gear, all probably from the past New Year’s that happened months ago.
