Chapter Twenty-Two #2
“What about Micha?” I ask.
Thomas and Joey share a look before Thomas continues explaining.
“Something you need to understand, is that the humans didn’t get all of the facts right about us. Some things they got incredibly wrong.” He frowns.
“What he’s trying to say is that I’m a demon.” Micha says, appearing in a flash of fire, although his clothes and body are undamaged.
“Fuuuuck,” Kai breaths out behind me, “that is so fucking cool.”
Only Kai would behave so casually after what we’ve been told.
“Like I said humans got some things wrong, demons are not all bad just like angels are not all good.” Thomas explains further.
Angels? Like actual freaking Angels!
“I believe that Levi is a demon and the trauma of the last few days has somehow triggered his abilities. As such, you all need to get to the training academy as soon as possible. Levi is going to need to learn how to cope with his demon side and you need your powers unlocked so you can train and unlock the other guy’s supernatural sides too. ”
“This is absolutely crazy, I’m a demon?” Levi asks incredulously.
“That would be my best guess, but we won’t know what kind until you shift into your demon form and I’m guessing you won’t be able to do that until Sage’s powers are unbound.” Joey says.
“Does that mean we will be demons too, since we’re triplets?” Kai asks.
“Not necessarily, although it is a strong possibility.” Joey replies.
“So, fucking cool.” Kai says in awe and I roll my eyes.
“It’s becoming more and more dangerous to keep your powers bound, Thomas is right we need to get you to the school, that’s where the Centre that bound them in the first place is and where you’ll need to be to train your powers and for the guys to learn more about the supernatural creatures they are. ” Micha agrees.
“Guys, Erin’s here!” Willow yells out the back door.
“Ok let’s get this over with and then we will explain more about the school and the Soulmate Bond. We got through more than I thought though, there’s not really much more tell about that side of it.” Thomas says.
I pull Levi into a tight hug and whisper in his ear, “is it wrong that I found your red eyes seriously hot.”
“Not at all Darling.” He growls in return squeezing me tightly before letting go. “Come on let’s go see Erin, I want to know more about that training academy.”
I barely make it through the door when I’m tackled in a giant hug by an excitable Erin.
“Sage!” she grins happily as she finally lets me go, before she grabs my hand and pulls me into the front room, “come on I want you to officially meet, Kyle and Nate.”
I giggle as I follow her in, then stop dead. “Dude you got yourself two sets of twins?” I smirk.
“Oh yeah!” she winks at me. “Hey, you got yourself triplets.”
“We’re lucky bitches!” I grin as I turn to introduce myself. “I’m Sage.” I say smiling, Nate and Kyle are identical twins with dark red hair, and light green eyes. They’re hot.
“We’ve heard all about you.” Nate grins cheekily.
The guys all do that bro hug thing and start catching up, it seems they’ve known each through other jobs for a while now.
“All good things I hope?” I reply to Nate.
“Mostly,” Kyle grins and I raise my eyebrow. “We heard that you’re scary as fuck when you want to be and like to goad dangerous men.”
The room pauses.
“Well thanks for that dude.”
“I remember one of them saying something similar yesterday, but I was too distracted to question you about it.” Levi says raising his eyebrow.
“Guess it’s time for that debrief.” Erin grins.
“Coffee is on the table, help yourselves and then take a seat.” Willow offers.
We all traipse back into the dining room and make our coffees then sit down at the table that is only just big enough to fit all of us.
“So, what did he mean, Little Star?” Jax asks raising his eyebrow as Levi shoots me a stern look, why do I find that hot?
“I am so going to get you guys back for this!” I growl at her guys and they all chuckle.
I share a look with Erin, and she nods, “I don’t know what you’re laughing at, your girl just agreed to help me.
” I smirk as they all shoot her panicked looks, she just crosses her legs, leans back in her chair, sips her coffee and smirks.
“Stop stalling, Darling." Levi warns and whilst Erin's team shoots him shocked looks, mine look at him concerned.
“Are you going to be ok hearing this, brother?” Hunter asks, and Erin raises her eyebrow in question.
“I’ll be fine, if not just do what you did before, that helped.” He says to me.
I nod. “Do you want to start and I’ll take over when we get to the bit where I’m brought in unconscious?"
For some reason what happened in the warehouse isn’t affecting me as much as I think it should be, or maybe it’s just that the trauma of what I’ve remembered overshadows it.
Maybe I’m just fucked up because as far as I’m concerned, the story of the warehouse has a happy ending, the guys came for me.
“Yeah, I can do that.” Erin says before taking a deep breath.
Micha interrupts.
“Whilst you are giving your formal account of what happened in the warehouse, you will be filmed. I’m sure you’ve been told that this is how we take statements but as you haven’t been through the process yet and we are in an informal setting, I just wanted to make sure you were aware. ” He informs us all.
Erin’s team all nod in agreement, none of them seeming shocked at the news. I personally think it’s a genius idea, you can re-watch tapes and study facial ques, micro expressions and all sorts, if you’re interrogating a suspect to see if there’s anything you’ve missed.
I’m impressed.
“Good, carry on then.”
“Ok, we were doing surveillance and split into two teams with Nate and Kyle in the van with all the monitors, since they’re the more tech savvy of us.
We-” she gestures around her to Jett, Dash and Damon.
“- were in a separate vehicle watching the fight club that he runs, since it’s the main place he deals out of. ”
“Fuck!” I growl.
“Not your fault, you didn’t know Sage.” Kai tries to reassure me, logically I know that, but it still pisses me off.
Erin raises her eyebrow at me.
“I used to fight there a lot.” I explain. “Sorry didn’t mean to interrupt.”
“No worries, anyway everything seemed perfectly normal until it wasn’t.
Around twenty big armed men suddenly came streaming out of the doors and surrounded us.
We fought the best we could, but we were heavily outnumbered, they shoved bags over our heads, zip tied our extremities and then dumped us in a van and brought us to the warehouse.
After that they pretty much left us alone, it was odd actually.
They brought us the minimal amount of food and water to live on and came in to rough us up every now and then but nothing life threatening.
It’s like they were simply waiting for Sage to arrive and then they could dispose of us.
” She takes a shaky breath, “that’s it until Sage arrived unconscious, she remained that way for about twenty minutes or so, we honestly had no idea who she was or her significance. ”
“I’ll take it from here. So it wasn’t long after I came around that Brent came in spouting the usual shit about how I belonged to him blah blah blah, I didn’t take too kindly to that, so I may have called him a few choice words, especially when he told me he’d beat the defiance out of me.”
My guys stiffen and an inhuman growl sounds from Levi causing Erin’s team to stare at him in shock.
“What the fuck dude?” Erin gasps.
“When did you fucking become a demon man?” Dash booms.
Levi ignores them both his eyes flashing red as he lets out another growl, I’m up and out of my seat in a second.
“Um Sage, I wouldn’t do that if I were you, when Demons lose it like this at the academy, several teachers have to come in and they get put in the holding cells until they calm down.” Nate says as he moves as if to block my path.
Levi lets lose a truly terrifying roar.
“Fuck,” Damon curses, “I don’t think he liked you saying that dude.”
“No, it wasn’t the words, it’s how close you are to Sage,” Thomas warns, “very slowly take a step back, Sage you need to help him.”
Nate reluctantly does as Thomas says and I love that he’s trying to protect me. Erin really has lucked out with her guys.
