Chapter Eighteen

The next morning I’m awoken wrapped in the arms of two of my men as Hunter and Maverick hold me close.

I enjoy the calm moment and vow to keep finding these small moments of peace in the future.

I have a feeling it’s going to be on the go constantly and it’s going to be important to take a breath every now and then.

“I don’t want to get up.” Maverick groans from behind me pulling me closer.

I try to ignore his sizeable morning wood and feel like I should get a damn medal for my valiant efforts, because holy fuck do I want to play.

Stay still, don’t push your ass back into him even as an “accident” we don’t want to blow up Toby’s pub after they’ve been so nice to us. I try to talk my horny bitch of a self down.

“Come on up before any of you get too tempted!” Kysen chuckles. “One I am not keen on witnessing that and two let’s not set the place on fire.”

Hunt let’s a warning growl that makes my core clench but before I can do anything about it he gets up and runs his hand through his long hair.

“I don’t like you.” He mumbles pointing at Kysen who looks highly amused and then striding towards the bathroom in his boxers proudly, his morning wood impressively visible through his tight boxers.

He winks at me as he closes the door, grinning proudly, it’s obvious where my eyes just were.

I jump as I suddenly have Ghost’s head directly in front of mine, I raise my eyebrow in question and he squawks once before resting his head against mine and then tilting it as if he finds me confusing.

His entire face from beak to the top of his head is pressed against mine it’s a true testament to his size since including his beak the length of his face is the same length as mine.

“Erm hello Ghost.” I say and he just continues to stare at me.

The guys chuckle as Maverick gets up patting my bum as he goes.

“Oh I see abandon me to the familiar that apparently has no idea of personal space.” I mutter.

“Well he is your familiar.” Maverick replies chuckling.

“I’m going to go and order breakfast whilst you sort that out.” Levi says and although I can’t see his smirk I can absolutely hear the amusement in his voice.

“You guys are so helpful.” I mutter. “Knot?”

Thankfully Knot is on my side and she nudges Ghost out of the way whilst in her fox form, yipping at him in admonishment. Ghost reluctantly moves allowing me to sit up finally.

“Thank you.” I say stroking Knot and Ghost. “I don’t know what that was about but next time let me up.” I grin and he bobs his head in a nod.

I sometimes forget that actually being a familiar is completely new to him and although Knot is obviously training him at least that’s where I’m guessing that they disappear to, it’s still all new. I kiss the top of his head.

“Don’t worry Ghost, you’re doing good.” I mutter and he rubs his head in my palm. “Guess I’d better get dressed.” I sigh as Maverick comes out of the bathroom.

I grab my bag and make my way to the bathroom kissing Kai, Jax, Mav and Hunt on the way there.

Which turns a two minute walk into one a lot longer and I’m not complaining in the slightest. Kysen went with Levi to get breakfast from downstairs and although I want to take advantage of the time alone together, like I was reminded this morning I don’t want to set anything on fire.

I do kiss them each for longer than I probably should though and let my hands wander over toned abs and wide shoulders.

They’re all a temptation and I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be able to hold out until I give up completely and become willing to burn something to the ground. I won’t of course, I will behave myself.

Maybe.

When I finally do make it to the bathroom I dress quickly my mind still in the gutter, I suppose if we had sex in water that could maybe counteract my fire gift and Kai’s but there’s no guarantee and nothing to stop Hunter Wolfing out, Jax’s water gift causing a flood.

Levi and Maverick’s gifts could cause a big problem too especially Mav’s if his air gift mixes with Jax’s water and the fire gifts it could be catastrophic.

I’m going to have to do the sensible thing and wait until we have all been taught properly to control our gifts enough that they won’t go nuts. That or find some sort of spell stone that could help. Surely something like that exists.

I’m aware that I sound like a sex mad woman right and one where’s the problem with that?

Two I have never been before I met them.

I like sex as much as most and I’m hardly inexperienced but before Brent it was one night stands only and after him well I didn’t want to let anyone close to me so it has been a while.

Its not just that though, it turns out that having feelings for someone makes it even better, who’d have guessed?

Kisses are great and my men are the best kissers but I’m missing intimacy, just more.

“Alright guys, eat up and we’ll discuss the plan.” Levi says coming into the room with Kysen and the trays just as I leave the bathroom.

I take a seat on the bed and grin at pastries and something that looks remarkably like a bacon sandwich. I’m about to take a bite when the most delicious aroma accosts my nose and I sit up straight my eyes scouring the room the source.

“This what you’re looking for Darling?” Levi smirks holding out a large mug.

“Coffee?” I say my voice full of hope, he nods and my eyes widen as I make grabby hands. “Gimme, gimme please. You are my hero!”

He smirks as he brings it over to me deliberately walking slowly and making the guys laugh.

“What do I get for being your hero?” He smirks holding it just out of my reach.

I bite my lip before smirking at him, making him pause.

“Anything you want.” I say smirking as he swallows harshly.

“Well played Sweetheart.” Hunter grins making his own cup.

Levi bends kissing me slowly before handing me the cup. He lets his lips linger by my ear.

“I’m going to hold you to that, Darling.” He vows nipping my ear and sending a shiver down my spine.

“Promises, promises.” I mutter turning and capturing his lips with I nip them in retaliation.

“Damn, Beautiful.” Kai mutters from the other side. “You’re going to be the death of us.”

“Same.” I reply taking and sip of coffee. “Oh my god. If I can’t have sex at least I can have damn good coffee.”

Jax chokes on his coffee as he and the others turn to me with their eyes wide and eyebrows raised.

“What?” I ask taking another sip.

“I just love your unpredictability.” Maverick smirks and I grin in return.

“Ok so before we get more side tracked what’s the plan?” Levi asks settling down.

“It’s not going to be easy getting into the Cursed City. I imagine that’s the whole reason why they are keeping them there. Hard to get to and less questions being asked.” Kysen says taking a huge bite of pastry.

“And their own little protection army. Even if the criminals that live in the city aren’t aware that’s what they’re doing. They are an effective deterrent.”

“I hadn’t thought of it like that.” Kysen muses. “They must have one hell of a reputation within the city if they’re being left alone. Like I said outsiders are killed or kept as workers. I’m not sure which fate is worse.”

“It’s obviously going to be a mistake to just rush in and try to rescue them. Doing that is almost guaranteed to go wrong, and will end in our failure and probable casualties for everyone concerned.” Maverick says.

“We need to be cautious and realistic about this. Seasoned and well trained Enforcers have tried to get in and failed. There is a massive chance that we will too.” Kai says seriously, remembering what Kysen told us when we first learned of the Cursed City.

“Ok so business as usual then.” Hunt says, “Just because we’re in another realm doesn’t mean that all the training we’ve already had is useless. We always do recon first. So that’s what we’ll do here.”

“Hunter’s right. We will run this like a normal op but remain aware and on guard for the supernatural elements.” Levi says. “Everyone pack up, Toby and his brothers are getting the horses ready.”

“We‘ll get as close as safely possible and see what we can find out.” Maverick adds.

“Ideally we’d be able to get in but I wouldn’t keep your hopes up. I can ask my brothers to help us. There’s no way that we’re going to be able to rescue that many without some help and we have a better chance of success if there’s more of us.” Kysen suggests.

“Good point.” Levi agrees, “I want to do the recon first though before we contact them. At least that way we have more information to give them and they can decide if it’s worth the risk.

I am aware of what a big ask it is and how dangerous it is.

None of us would hold it against you or them if they didn’t want to.

After all this mission was giving to us by the goddess and you are not obligated to help at all. ”

“Whilst I appreciate that, Mate, I’m in. I want to help rescue the other Centres and not only will my brothers be in because I am but they would be regardless because it’s what we are training to do. We are training to fight against the Order. Trust me we’re all in.”

“Thank you.” Levi says sincerely. “I still want to recon first so we know where we stand and have an actually base camp for them to meet us at.”

“Got it.” Kysen nods respectfully and smiles.

“How far away is the Cursed City from here?” I ask.

“Good question. I have no idea, since I’m not familiar with the area. One second.” Kysen replies as he fishes around in his already packed bag and pulls out his map.

Jax takes everything off of one of the tables pushed to the side of the room and drags it into the middle so Kysen can lay the map on it and we can all see.

“Right ok, so this is where we are.” Kysen mutters pointing to a point on the map. “Well fuck me.”

“What?” Levi asks.
