An urge to know the truth

Author's pov-

Divya sat on her bed, staring at her phone, her fingers hovering over purv's contact.

He had left without a word. Again.

And this time, she wasn't sure if he would come back.

The cold silence of her room did nothing to calm her restless thoughts. She replayed everything in her mind-the way he had held her, the way his lips had pressed against hers with desperation, the way his eyes had softened for just a moment before the walls came crashing back up.

And then there was her.

Vaani.

Divya clenched her fists, exhaling sharply.

The way purv had gone rigid at the sight of his ex wasn't something she could ignore. She had seen it-the flicker of something in his eyes, something unresolved.

Does he still love her?

The thought made her chest tighten, but she shook her head. No. If he did, he wouldn't have kissed her the way he did.

But something about vaani still affected him.

And Divya needed to know why.

Before she could overthink it any further, her phone vibrated.

Divya hesitated before typing back.

A moment later, her phone rang. She answered immediately.

"You saw her again, didn't you?" Kaashi's voice was calm, but knowing.

Divya sighed. "Yeah. And purv.. he just left."

Kaashi was quiet for a moment. "He always does that when something messes with his head. Doesn't mean he doesn't care."

Divya swallowed. "Then why does it feel like he's slipping away?"

"Because he's scared," kaashi said simply. "Because whatever happened between him and Vaani still haunts him."

Divya bit her lip. "I want to know the truth."

Kaashi hesitated. "Then ask him, divi. He won't open up on his own. But if you push him... maybe he will."

Divya exhaled, nodding to herself.

No more running.

No more unanswered questions.

She was going to make purv talk.

Even if he hesitated, even if he pushed her away-she wasn't going to let him drown in his past alone.
