Unfinished business
Author's pov-
The conference was set to take place at one of Delhi's most prestigious hotel. It was a grand event, attended by top business leaders, investors, and CEOs. Everything about it screamed power and influence.
Divya wasn't nervous. She had worked too hard over the past five years to let something as trivial as purv's presence affect her. Atleast, that's what she kept telling herself.
Kaashi, however, wasn't convinced.
"You're awfully quiet," kaashi observed as they entered the hotel lobby. She was dressed elegantly, exuding confidence, while Divya opted for a sleek black business dress that perfectly balanced power and poise.
"Just focus," Divya replied, adjusting her bracelet.
Kaashi smirked. "Focus on the conference? Or the fact that purv will be there?"
Divya shot her a look. "The conference, obviously."
Kaashi just hummed, not believing her one bit.

Purv stepped into the lobby, his sharp black suit making him look every bit the ruthless businessmen he had come. Rudra walked beside him, glancing around until his gaze landed on someone familiar.
"Showtime," Rudra muttered as his eyes fell on Divya.
Purv followed his gaze, and for a moment, something flickered in his expression. Something unreadable.
There she was. The same Divya... yet not.
She carried herself differently now. More composed. More untouchable. It was like looking at a version her that didn't belong to his past.
"You're staring," Rudra said casually.
Purv scoffed. "I don't care."
Rudra smirked. "Yeah? Then why did you clench your jaw just now?"
Purv ignored him and walked away.

The conference hall was bustling with conversations. Investors discussing deals, companies pitching strategies-everyone was here to make an impact.
Divya was leading a panel discussion. She was confident, precise, and absolutely in control of the room.
Purv hated to admit it, but he was... impressed.
She wasn't just here. She was making sure everyone noticed her.
As the discussion ended, people walked up to Divya, congratulating her on a brilliant presentation. Kaashi stood by, smirking as she saw purv in the distance, watching.
It wasn't long before the inevitable happened.
Purv and Divya found themselves face to face.
She didn't flinch. Didn't look away. Just offered a polite, almost indifferent smile.
"Mr.Rathore," she acknowledged, her tone professional.
He studied her for a second before responding. "Miss Sharma."
Kaashi and Rudra exchanged glances from afar, both thinking the same thing-this was going to be fun.
Purv's gaze didn't waver. "Impressive work."
"I know," she replied smoothly. "You wouldn't be here if it wasn't."
For a second, he was caught off guard. This was new.
This wasn't the girl who used to stumble over her words around him.
Before he could say anything else, she excused herself and walked away, leaving him standing there.
And for the first time in a long time, purv realised-
He was no longer the center of her world.
And that realisation stung more than he cared to admit.
