Three years later
Author's pov-
Three years had passed, yet the way Purv looked at her hadn't changed.
Divya stood at the entrance of their shared apartment, her heels clicking against the wooden floor as she walked inside. It had been a long day at work, meetings and deadlines swirling in her mind—but something felt... different.
The lights were dim. Soft fairy lights trailed along the walls, flickering like stars. The faint melody of a violin played in the background, and a trail of white rose petals stretched from the doorway to the balcony.
Her heartbeat stuttered.
She followed the path with hesitant steps, her fingers trembling slightly as she pushed open the balcony doors.
There he stood—Purv, in a simple black shirt tucked into beige trousers, sleeves rolled up, no extravagant setup. Just him, her, and the soft glow of sunset behind him. He looked nervous—really nervous—and that alone made her heart ache.
"You did all this?" she whispered.
He smiled, taking a step forward. "For the woman who changed my life... it still feels less."
Tears pricked her eyes. "Purv..."
He slowly got down on one knee, and in his palm rested the simplest, most beautiful ring she’d ever seen.
"I was lost before you. Cold, distant... numb. And then you came in like a storm, ruining everything I believed love to be—and building it again, beautifully. You stayed... even when you had every reason not to. You taught me how to feel. How to love."
She covered her mouth, heart hammering in her chest.
"And now," he said, voice a little unsteady, "I want to spend every sunrise and every storm with you. Marry me, Divya."
Her tears spilled freely now, but her smile lit up the evening sky.
"Yes," she breathed. "Yes, Purv. A thousand times, yes."
He stood and wrapped his arms around her tightly, burying his face in her hair as she clung to him, both of them laughing and crying at once.
In that moment, there were no broken pasts. No regrets. No pain.
Only them.
And everything they’d built.
