CHAPTER 18

Dominic

M erda , I'd thought as I tailed my little sister, Serafina, my stupid little sister. I'd been following her like a damn shadow every day after work for a few weeks.

I had my suspicions about her and her boxing coach. But it wasn't until the night she jumped into his fucking car that I knew for sure.

How had I not seen it before? She was in love. And with him, of all people, Lucas Enriquez.

He claims to be just a boxer; the kind of guy who pretends to be noble and shit, but I know the truth. He may be able to fool everyone else, but not me.

I know about his real family, the type normal folks run away from.

A family just like ours. Another enemy hungry to get their hands on our city, I bet.

Only he pretends that he wants nothing to do with them.

So, I did what any good brother would. I'd confronted our mamma. I'd spilled the whole bitter pill.

I'll never forget the look in her eyes, a mix of fury and pain.

"Non preoccuparti, figlio mio," she said in avoice colder than ice, tellingme not to worry. "It's time to meet this boy."

I’ve dreamt of the day I would confront this asshole. And now, facing him head-on, he did not disappoint.

I see the recognition dawn on his face. I smirk as he exchanges a few words with the cute girl he was just boxing with and nudges her behind him before he walks up to me. I know he knows exactly who I am.

"Looking for someone?" He saunters towards me, unbothered by my presence.

"Yes," I raise an eyebrow in response. "You."

He halts just inches from me, a cocksure smirk on his lips. "Does Serafina know you're here?"

"No," I mirror his stance, defiantly crossing my arms.

His fingers dig into my suit jacket, his eyes blazing with fury. "What have you done to her?" I can't help but admire his boldness. Not many would dare lay a hand on me, knowing who I am and what my family controls. But this one has guts.

I pry his iron grip from me and roll my eyes, "She's fine."

Once he's settled down, I snap at him. "And if you want her to remain intact, it's time you meet the family. Be ready tomorrow, noon sharp."
