==================
Aditi's heart hammered against her ribs, terrifyingly fast.
"Omkar..." she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Don't say my name with your lips," Omkar spat out, his voice sharp and laced with pure venom.
The sudden cruelty in his tone made her flinch as if she had been struck.
"You lost the right to speak my name the day you walked away."
Aditi swallowed the hard lump in her throat, taking a hesitant step backward.
"Do you... do you still hate me that much?" she asked softly, her voice cracking under the weight of her own guilt.
A harsh, humorless laugh escaped Omkar's lips, but his eyes remained deadly cold.
"Do I still hate you?" he repeated, stepping closer, closing the distance until the air between them felt thin.
"Then what do you think? That I'd be happy after you killed my baby? That I'd welcome you back with open arms?" He said.
The words hit her like a physical blow.
Aditi gasped, tears instantly overflowing .She opened her mouth to speak, to defend herself, but no sound came out.
She lowered her head, completely defenseless, because deep down, she knew she had no right to plead innocence.
"What, now you forgot how to talk?" Omkar mocked, leaning down slightly so his bitter words rasped against her ear.
"You had plenty to say when you made that decision alone. And now, after destroying my life, you want to destroy Aarav's life too? Playing the perfect, loving partner?" He said with an angry tone.
"No... no!I don't! Aarav loves me... not like you."Aditi gasped out, shaking her head frantically .
"Not like me? Huh?" Omkar barked a cold laugh, his eyes flashing with sudden, dangerous fury.
"Do I love you less in any way? How can you say that? Name one thing! Did I ever stop prioritizing you?!"
"I know you loved me back then!" Aditi cried out, her shoulders trembling violently as she finally met his fierce gaze.
"I know how much you gave me! But now... now I also accept your hate... because I know I deserve it." She said.
In a flash of uncontrolled rage, Omkar reached out and grabbed her cheeks, his fingers digging into her soft skin to force her to look at him.
"Stop acting so innocent!" he hissed, his grip tight, his breathing heavy against her face.
"You are not! You are a murderer. You killed my baby... and I will never forgive you for that. I will never let you be happy, Ms. Aditi. After destroying my happiness, you don't get to walk away and be happy." He said.
He roughly released her face, shoving her backward.
Aditi stumbled against the edge of the sink, clutching her throbbing cheeks.
"Do you think it's easy for me?!" she sobbed .
"That was my baby too! It's killing me every single day, and I..." She was cut off by him.
"Shut up! Just stop this!" Omkar roared, stepping in and bringing his hand crashing down against the wall behind her head.
The loud BANG echoed in the enclosed space.
Aditi flinched, shrinking back into herself, her heart leaping into her throat out of sheer terror.
"Don't take my baby's name in your mouth!" Omkar growled, his hand resting on the wall right beside her ear, trapping her.
"You don't deserve to speak about my baby. You lost that privilege when you chose to erase them! And believe me, I will never let you be happy even if it's Aarav Oberoi by your side." He said with anger.
"Why are you doing this?I feel hurt too... We both should move on, it's..."" Aditi whispered brokenly.
"Then why do you feel hurt when I was with that girl?!" Omkar cut her off ruthlessly, his eyes narrowing as a wave of possessive broke through his anger.
He towered over her, his eyes searching every inch of her devastated face.
"Why did you get tears in your eyes just because I am on a date, just like you?! Tell me, Aditi! If you're so moved on, why are you trembling right now?" He asked her.
Aditi's breath hitched. She looked away, her voice trembling uncontrollably.
"It's... it's not like that. I... I don't feel anything..." She answered with a lie which omkar understood.
Omkar leaned closer, his voice dropping to a low, lethal whisper that vibrated against her skin.
"Don't lie to me. I know you better than anyone else... even yourself. You can fool Aarav, but you can't fool me." Omkar said.
Aditi squeezed her eyes shut, unable to fight the truth in his words.
She wanted to yell at him, but her throat felt entirely constricted.
Omkar tilted his head, a dark, mocking smirk slowly spreading across his lips.
"I think you still can't move on from me... and yet you are in a relationship with him?" He let out a low, amused laugh that sent a chill down her spine.
"Good. After all, it's going to be so much fun to destroy you even more." He said.
"Why do I need to suffer alone?!" she demanded, her voice rising through her tears.
"Don't you know I also broke down after..." She couldn't finish.
"Then why did you kill my baby?!" Omkar shouted, cutting her off instantly as he slammed his fist against the wall again.
"Why did you get that abortion?! Why? WHY?! Answer me for once in your life!" Omkar shouted with anger.
Aditi clamped her mouth shut, falling dead silent. The truth was a heavy, suffocating secret she couldn't release, no matter how much it tore her apart.
Omkar stared at her, watching the familiar wall of silence fall over her face.
His frustration bubbled over into pure fury.
"Why can't you tell me?!" he demanded, his voice thick with unsaid grief and outrage.
"You know I had a right to know! I was the father! But you never told me. And you think I'll let you live happily with that stupid boy, Aarav? I hate you, Aditi. I hate you." Omkar also got tears in his eyes but he didn't let it down.
"I can't tell you..." Aditi sobbed softly, hiding her face in her hands as her strength completely eroded.
"Please... please stop this. Please move... I need to go. Aarav is waiting for me." She said.
Omkar stood entirely still for a few agonizing seconds, watching her weep.
"Do you really think your Aarav is in love with you?" Omkar asked her.
Aditi froze. She lowered her hands, looking up at him.
" What do you mean?" She asked him.
" You already know what i mean!" He answered.
"Why... why are you saying that? You're just doing this to destroy my relationship, right? You just want to mess with my head!" Aditi shouted with anger.
Omkar stepped in, grabbing her arm tightly and pulling her body against his.
"It's the truth," he whispered near her ear, his smirk cruel.
"Look at him carefully, Aditi. Just like you still feel for me even while you're in a relationship with him... Aarav wants someone else too. His heart isn't yours."
"No! It's not true! You're lying! He loves me!" Aditi cried, her heart racing frantically.
Omkar's smirk broadened, his eyes gleefully capturing her panic.
"So... you do still feel for me? Is that why you're so scared?" He asked her.
"Stop it!" Aditi screamed softly, a wave of rage finally giving her the power to shove him back with all her strength.
"Stop this right now! Or... I..."
Omkar took a slow step back toward her, unbothered, his chest expanding with mocking defiance.
"Or what? You'll destroy me like I do?"
He asked her.
"Yes, I will!" Aditi cried out, wiping her wet face with the back of her hand, her eyes burning with pure desperation.
"Stop it! I just want to forget everything and move on! I don't want to feel anything for you!" She said.
"Then why did you feel hurt when I was with that girl? Why does it kill you to see me with someone else?" Omkar asked softly, delivering the final blow.
Aditi couldn't take it anymore.
Without answering, she shoved past him forcefully, her hands shaking, and ran out of the washroom corridor toward the main dining area.
Aarav was sitting calmly at the table, taking a bite of his steak, completely oblivious to the hurricane that had just taken place.
Aditi reached the table, her breath coming in ragged gasps.
"Aarav, let's go. I want to leave right now," she said quickly, her voice tight .
Aarav paused, his fork hovering mid-air as he looked up at her in confusion.
"Why? What happened? I haven't even finished eating yet is everything alright?"
"Just let's go... please," Aditi begged, unable to look him in the eye as panic choked her words.
"I'll tell you tomorrow. Just take me home." She answered him.
Aarav opened his mouth to argue, but seeing the genuine distress in her pale face and the faint redness around her eyes, he stopped himself.
He nodded silently, placing his napkin on the table.
After paying the bill hastily, they walked out to the car.
The drive back was heavy with an unbearable silence.
Aarav kept throwing concerned, quiet glances at her, but Aditi kept her head turned toward the side window, watching the city lights blur into streaks of yellow and white .
Finally, the car pulled up outside Aditi's apartment building.
Without waiting or saying a word, Aditi immediately unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out into the night air.
She walked rapidly toward the entrance, but just before heading inside, she paused and walked back around to the front of the car.
Aarav rolled down his window, looking at her with deep worry lineated across his forehead.
"Aditi, talk to me. What went wrong back there?"
"Aarav..." Aditi said softly, her voice barely carrying over the idling engine.
"I will meet your parents the day after tomorrow." She finished.
"Wait, Aditi.." Aarav started, but before he could even process her words or respond.
she turned on her heel and hurried inside the building, the glass doors shutting behind her.
Aarav sat alone in the quiet interior of his car, staring at the empty doorway in complete confusion.
What on earth just happened to her?
He could feel that something had deeply shattered her tonight, but he knew pushing her now would only make her retreat further.
