I t’s three in the morning by the time the five of us guys come stumbling back into the house. All the lights are dim except those from the patio and the glow of the pool. With all the windows and the glass doors that create a hybrid flow of indoor-outdoor living it’s enough to get us by as we hunt for a light switch.
A lamp turns on in the living room and we all turn to see Stella curled up in a chair with a computer in her lap.
“It’s about time you boys came home.” She scolds as she rises from her seat and turns on a few more lights as she walks towards the kitchen.
“Oh baby you look so cute when you’re grumpy. Like a little black cat I just want to pet you.” Sebastian blubbers as he wraps his arms around her waist.
We all stand back and watch. Matteo has a smirk on his face and Theo’s eyes are so wide I fear they may pop.
Stella whips around and shoves Sebastian’s hands away before a stern finger pokes his chest so hard I’m surprised he’s still standing. “Keep your grubby hands to yourself, you super kinky cyber freak.”
“I’ll be a freak for you baby. Just tell me how you want me.”
“I want you to sit your ass down and drink this.” Stella jerks open the door and reaches inside the refrigerator. Pulling out a bottle of water she slams it down in front of him on the island before passing them out to the rest of us.
“Have any of you boys eaten actual food or have you just drank your weight in booze?” We all just kind of look at each other before she huffs and tells us to sit our asses down.
We don’t argue. Even Marco sits down quietly while Stella pulls a pan out from next to the stove.
“Hey Stella? Did Trin make it to bed alright?” I ask, missing her.
“Alright might be a reach but yeah she’s in bed.” She chuckles a little as she butters some bread before putting it into the pan with some cheese.
“What do you mean by that?” Getting worried I can’t help but ask.
“Well the girls got a little crazy. Liv was letting loose with the nanny here and Aurora and Luna were matching her pace for pace.”
“That’s my girl!” Theo chimes in, raising a first in the air.
“Well Trinia was right there with them. So let’s just say her and Luna were pretty toasted when your mom and Tony made it back from their dinner.”
“Oh no.” Theo and I both grimace at the same time.
Looking at my brother we both start to panic as we imagine all the ways our ladies uninhibited around our mother could be bound for disaster.
“Don’t worry.” Stella chuckles as she flips the sandwich. “I honestly think their relationship will be better for it. Carmen was pretty nice and even had a margarita with us before she and Tony went to bed. I think they really cleared the air.” Stella winks at me and I’m sure she knows about the talk I had with mom earlier.
I hope she’s right and they can all join forces. I’m thinking about what that might be like when Theo chimes in.
“I don’t know how I feel about my wife and my mother being friends.”
I rub my beard as I ponder the idea and I kind of have to agree. “If they are, it’s going to be so weird. That’s three of them and only two of us.”
“We need to recruit Tony. He needs to be on our side.”
“Tomorrow.”
“Yeah tomorrow.” I agree with my brother as Stella sets a plate with a grilled cheese sandwich in front of him.
“So trin had fun? She’s OK?” I check as I steal the other half of Theo’s sandwich and take a bite.
“Yeah I stripped her down and put her to bed a couple hours ago. She passed out on the patio furniture but she couldn’t stay out there in wet clothes.”
“See, going out worked! One night down. Now you only have to avoid sexy time for two more nights and you’re in the clear.”
“Seb! Shhhh.” Matteo holds a finger to his mouth as he shushes Seb and his eyes go wide.
“Sorry man. I didn’t say anything.” He grabs the sandwich in front of him and stuffs his face to not say anymore.
Stella turns off the stove and comes around the counter. Her eyes on Sebastian as she moves slowly until she is right in front of him. She spins the stool, turning his entire body to face her. Placing her hands on his knees she spreads his legs, positioning herself in between them before leaning over and running a hand down the front of his chest.
“Why is my bookkeeper’s husband avoiding her?” I can’t see it but I have an idea she is now rubbing his crotch when he bites his lip and closes his eyes. “Do I need to be worried, baby?” She whispers against his ear loud enough for us to hear.
“No, you don’t need to worry. They’re fine, he just wants to have a baby.” Sebastian blurts out and when he does Stella snaps back to her full height and walks away leaving him adjusting himself under the counter.
“You got sniped so if you’re avoiding Kat that means you must have had it reversed but that doesn’t explain why.” Stella ponders as she butters two more slices of bread and places them in the pan with cheese in the middle.
“These girls talk, man.” Theo spills with his mouthful, surely seeing the shock on my face that a woman I barely know seems to know so much about me and my manhood, as he tosses the last bite of his sandwich in his mouth.
“Oh my god! She doesn’t know!” Stella slaps the spatula down on the counter when she finally puts it all together.
