Epilogue

Valencia

My husband crawls into bed, spent from the day. I have been waiting here, full of excitement, during his entire way-too-long shower.

“Babe, I was just thinking about how our one-year anniversary is one month from today. Do you want to take a trip to celebrate? Maybe hit up a winery or something?”

“Well,” I purr, resting my head on his solid chest, “I do think we should do something to celebrate. But, um, a winery wouldn’t be smart since I’m, uh, pregnant.”

Kaidon bolts up in bed, staring at me with huge, happy eyes.

“You’re pregnant?”

“I am, baby. We’re pregnant!”

My husband, with tears in his eyes, grabs my face and covers it with kisses.

“I love you so damn much, babe.” He says through sobs.

“Me too, baby, me too.”
