Chapter 16 #2

Her hands dropped from her face to her stomach. When her face contorted and she shook her head no, even I was thrown off by the shit.

“Will you marry me?” he asked again, this time with a shaky voice.

“No… No!” she screamed, shocking the fuck out of all of us.

“Did this pot belly bitch just tell my brother no? But she told the dick gobbler yes?” Nel asked.

“No! No, it’s too early! My water just broke!”

The crowd gasped again. Dasani pushed her way through the crowd, not stopping until she got to Discover’s side.

“Yes, yes, I’ll marry you, Metavello. Slide the ring on, but these babies are coming.”

He did what his now fiancée said and then stood by her side. Dasani had her hand on Discover’s belly, asking her hushed questions.

“Shit.” Shio rubbed his hand down his face. “You drove? Or you riding with me to the hospital?”

I shifted my eyes to Glow, who was now walking behind Metavello as he carried Discover out of the room along with the rest of the ladies.

I didn’t know how much more hectic the night would get, so I opted to ride with Shio so I could tell him what it was.

I was sure she’d already told the ladies, and it wouldn’t be long before it got back to him.

Looking at Shio, I replied. “Yeah, I drove, but I’ma still slide with you.”

We all filed out of the building. Renello had pulled his Maybach to the front door, and Metavello was putting Discover in the back seat as Pia sat in the front.

“Y’all good?” Shio asked.

When Metavello nodded, the valet attendant tossed Shio his keys.

Most of the cars were lined up in the front, so I hopped in the driver’s seat of Shio’s, knowing his from the color.

I was forever driving this nigga’s shit like I was the hired help.

It often gave me a chance to test the whips and see what the fuck I wanted once I was ready to buy.

It would be a while before I dropped a ticket on some shit like this, but it was nasty.

These niggas were riding in Maybachs like the dealership had given them out two-for-one.

Before Shio could plant himself in the passenger seat, heels clacking on the pavement had me looking out the passenger-side window.

“Um, I took a chauffeur here. Do you mind if I catch a ride?” She was asking Shio but looking at me.

Shio held the door open for Glow, letting her step inside.

Her perfume wafted up my nose and straight to my dick.

Once Shio was in the back seat, I peeled off.

I’d never been in a more awkward setup in my life.

I couldn’t tell Shio shit in front of Glow because I didn’t know how the conversation would go, and I would never put her on blast. Hell, she didn’t care about Shio when I propositioned her and had even insinuated that he didn’t want her.

I damn sho’ ain’t beating the store runner obligations, I thought as Shio’s phone rang, breaking up the silence.

“She made it in?” he asked the caller.

I assumed he was talking about ole girl with the big booty. I didn’t know what the hell he had going on, and I had my own shit to worry about, so until he was ready to talk, I’d leave the subject be.

Glow was looking out the window while I was shifting my eyes from the road to her side profile.

“You look pretty,” I complimented.

Shio was still on the call, and even if he weren’t, I wouldn’t have hesitated to compliment her. I respected that nigga because of who he was and what he’d done, but when it came to what I wanted to do, I was forever doing it.

“Thank you,” she replied shyly, like she hadn’t put the pussy on me or was carrying my last name. Women were a fucking trip.

“Jagoda One,” Shio said out loud as he lifted his head from the phone call.

I could see Nel and the others ahead of us, but it was good to know where I was going in case I lost them.

Behind me, though, was a long line of expensive, foreign cars, all heading to the same place.

One thing I noticed about the mob was how close-knit they were and how they all showed up for each other.

I had only dealt with people who shared my blood in that manner.

It was rare as hell to see the dynamic of the Rinaldi Mob, and right now, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it.

I liked it for Glow, though; even from across the room, I could see how radiant she was, with the ladies staring at her wedding ring. The glare from her ring caught my eye as I pulled into the lot of the hospital. I could see the twins at the emergency entrance helping Discover out of the car.

Shio tapped the back of my seat, so I stopped and let him out. He still had his phone pressed to his ear. Turning the wheel, I drove into the hospital parking lot, passing rows of cars to find a spot. The rest of the mob was doing the same.

Glow sat up in her seat, making her dress ride up her thighs.

She’d put some type of glitter on her skin, and not only did it smell good as fuck, but it looked good too against her complexion.

From the top of her head to the soles of her feet, she was pretty as hell.

Not only was Glow fine, she was bossed the hell up.

It was almost an insult to her to be married to a man who had just gotten out of jail with only a grill to his name, but we were here now.

“I only asked for a ride because I didn’t want to be a third wheel,” she said as I pulled into a spot.

“Glow, you ain’t gotta explain shit. You good.”

Looking down, I tried to see where the shut-off button to the car was. There were so many damn dials and shit that I was confused. Her manicured hand, that was rocking my diamond, reached over and pressed a button, shutting off the engine.

“I’ve ridden in Ezio’s with Jisei a few times,” she explained.

I was embarrassed like a motherfucker, I couldn’t lie. Still, I hopped out and jogged over to open her door like this was my shit. When her hand was in mine, I couldn’t help myself. Wrapping my arms around her slim waist, I bent down and stuck my nose in her neck and took a long whiff.

She felt so fucking good. She smelled even better. The dress was practically painted on her body. She fit within my arms as if she was sculpted for a nigga. I knew what she’d said, but her in my arms felt right.

“Tunan,” she moaned.

I knew her pussy was soaked. It made no sense how wet she had gotten the night we met. She was damn near drowning a nigga the way she was soaking my shit. Gripping her ass, I kissed the side of her neck before letting her up.

“My bad. I had to. You look too fuckin’ good,” I admitted.

Tucking her hair behind her ear, she grinned, showing those white-ass teeth. “So do you.”

“How it feel to be a wife?”

She looked off briefly and shrugged. “Sneaky. I haven’t told my mom or my sister.

I was about to tell the women, but the proposal happened.

My sister is staying at my house with her best friend, and neither one of them has said anything about it.

So… either they haven’t noticed it, or have noticed it and know I’d never get married without telling them. I don’t know what I’m doing, Tunan.”

She looked stressed in the face, and it low-key mirrored her face when she was coming on my dick. Lifting her chin, I licked my lips. “Ion know what I’m doing either, my baby. I haven’t told anyone either.”

“But you gotta tell Don, though, right? That’s the whole point, isn’t it?”

That was the whole point: to be married on paper and get to the paper.

But every time I was around Glow, I had to tell myself that she wasn’t what I wanted.

I was consistently reminding myself of “the rules” she’d set when she crossed my mind.

The type of aura she possessed was detrimental to a nigga’s health.

I was the same nigga that had fallen for a bitch like Stella, though.

My judgment was cloudy, and I ain’t trust shit.

The way I was feeling was more than likely lust-infused due to how she felt around my dick.

“I’ma tell him tonight. I wasn’t sho’ if I should even tell my people. I mean, if dey find out, cool. If not, that’s cool too. At least dey can say dey met you.”

She nodded. “Yeah. I get it. We should go in… I don’t want to miss the birth of the babies.”

I almost reached for her hand like I’d done the night at the Haunted House, but refrained.

We walked side by side into the hospital with her heels echoing on the gravel.

Everyone else seemed to be already inside because the cars that were trailing me were all parked and empty.

Walking through the doors, the antiseptic smell that only hospitals hold turned my stomach.

The last time I’d been at a hospital was when Stella rang the remission bell when her doctors announced the cancer had left her body.

Shit had me wishing I could find her and beat her ass again.

Life had gone on, and I’d done my time, so revenge should’ve been the last thing on my mind. That hoe had done me dirty, though.

“Oh my God! It hurrrrts!” Discover yelled as the women tried their best to calm her.

Metavello was still carrying her bridal style, and from the expression on his face, a doctor needed to come quick. Glow had run to her side like there was something she could do to stop the labor pains.

Slap!

Nel had hit the receptionist’s desk, gaining everyone’s attention but Discover’s. “Where the fuck the doctor at? As much money we give y’all asses every month to keep fluids pumping in that vegetable we got upstairs, y’all should be running when we enter this hoe.”

The receptionist either was used to Nel’s antics, or she didn’t scare easily because she was sitting there unbothered like a motherfucker.

“Renello, calm down and let the lady do her job.” A lady, who had to be their mother, tried to calm him.

“Ma, fuck allat! Ain’t nobody tryna hear shit she sayin’! She needs to get the fuck up and do sum’n. My nephews not comin’ into the world on this nasty-ass waitin’ room floor. Fuck that!”
