Epilogue
One Year Later
Lucibel:
My name’s been changed on Earth, legally. Back to what it was originally, the name given to me by my mother. Lilaina tracked down her friends and found out what it was.
Lucibel Marquis.
Though, these days, I’m simply called Lucy-my-love by a crazy alien I just adore. Skiden, who I once thought was a teen, is my whole world.
Isabel’s daughter, Vixie, was born and she’s the sweetest little thing. Bronan dotes on his females and has gotten Isabel pregnant again. Another girl, according to the medic, Calbin.
His brothers tease that he’s going to end up with a dozen girls. Bronan usually grins at that because I honestly think he loves the idea of a houseful of girls.
I asked Bronan to tattoo my face with Skiden’s marks, and I look more like River than ever. We both laugh at how we didn’t see the resemblance with one another when we first met, and love complimenting each other.
“Oh, Lucy, your hair’s sleek like a raven.”
“Thanks, River, yours is like the gloss of the midnight sky.”
Then we giggle while Sam, Isabel, and Maman all roll their eyes.
Samantha, Mejak, and Kalrian are hunters. My crazy cousin is out living her best life with her mates. She’s never gotten any word from her parents, though Lilaina mentioned they were a little upset that she mated an alien, much less two. And though her mother denied changing Lucy’s name, even claimed her brother had forced her to drop off the toddler at the group home, it caused a scandal among their social crowd and they’re no longer invited to any events, which Patricia bemoans daily. Not that they can afford to keep up with the same crowd, since most of their money was lost in the political campaign that fell through. Safe to say, Samantha’s written off. But it doesn’t matter because Maman is ecstatic to have four daughters and two grand-daughters.
She definitely gives us all the love a mother could. More motherly love than any of us ever had.
Speaking of which, when Sam hesitantly asked Bronan if he’d tattoo her face after he’d done mine, he smiled broadly and took her right up to his studio. He explained that no one could do a better job than him because with two mates, she had different house marks that he would have to make smaller and blend appropriately so she wasn’t one huge-headed facial tattoo with just an unmarked nose appendage sticking out. She looked a little horrified, but I gave away his teasing with my snickering. Turns out he’d been planning it for a while because her designs are utterly gorgeous, about an inch from her hairline and snaking down the sides of her neck so all her beautiful face still shows.
The borders to Earth have been opened and people are more used to tentacles than ever before. Sometimes it just takes someone getting used to the differences of others for fears and prejudices to fall away.
And, it turns out the Match Program has been wrapped up. Some of the Adroki warriors grew enamored with Lilaina’s security guards, who kept following her home to the castle because they were enamored with muscley warriors who strutted around half naked. Now, so many clans come into Earth, there’s much more natural meet-ups that we have no need for it.
Yes, the Match Program is wrapped up. It was a huge success.
But that doesn’t mean the happiness ends. We’ll still hear about connections and relationships and which babies are being born on which planets, won’t we?
In the nearby future.
Thank you so much for reading!
