Epilogue
ELLIE
Four months later
I’m standing outside the arrival gates, bouncing with excitement. Today is the day!
“Hey girl!” Mel cries, running toward me.
I throw my arms around her, hugging her tight and trying not to cry. Damn pregnancy hormones. “I can’t believe you’re here!”
“I can’t believe we’re finally doing this!” she says at the same time.
She left everything behind in Denver. Today, she officially moves to White Falls. I’ve already been in talks with the owner of the town florist to take over when she retires next year.
These next months will be working on financing and getting Mel set up with her own nursery.
“Where’s your mountain man?” she asks.
“Probably looking for another sparkly pink suitcase at the luggage area.”
“He’ll be disappointed then. It’s purple. Are you happy, El?”
I loop her arm with mine and we make our way to pick up her bags. “More than ever.” Anson and I married a few weeks after the ordeal with Grant. He wanted the day after, but I wanted to at least have my choice of a wedding gown and bridal bouquet.
It was perfect. He’s perfect. Although… “I didn’t think anything scared that man. You should have seen his face when I said I was pregnant!”
Mel laughs.
The crowd parts and standing head and shoulders above them is my mountain man. I run to his side and drag him down for a kiss. When I signed up for Perfect Pairings, I hoped I would find happiness.
I found more than that. I found love.
I found him.
Thank you so much for reading Anson and Ellie’s story!
