Chapter Ten

Bram

My wolf told me there were two mates. I scented two mates. Still, it wasn’t until I saw them both that I allowed myself to believe it. Oh, my, there are two of you. How foolish I must’ve sounded.

Something in that moment just snapped together, and all the reasons for me coming here boiled down to just them. I was here for them.

One of them stepped back and said, “Let’s go somewhere.”

I grabbed their hands and pulled them around the counter and out back, not remembering to tell anyone where I was going.

But my coworkers knew something was up. It would be impossible for them not to, and they were great about giving free passes when it came to mates.

That was a perk of working in a shifter establishment.

They understood in a way humans would never be able to.

I’d fill them in when I got back and apologize. No way I was going back there now.

My wolf would never allow it. He had a one-track mind, and it was getting these two sexy alphas alone together.

I wasn’t sure why I came back inside when I scented them. Maybe it was shock and operating on autopilot. I couldn’t even remember making the decision. I just did it. But whatever it was, I was glad they scented me and tracked my ass down.

Now that I saw them, scented them up close, and touched their hands, there was nothing I wanted more than to be with them.

“I’m Bram,” I said.

“We know. And you’re our mate,” said the taller of the two.

“Both of yours?” I scented it to be true, but needed to hear it from them.

They nodded and introduced themselves. Indy and Seth. Two alphas and lovers, and now they wanted me.

Had I not met Zevo and his mates, I’d be far more nervous about having two mates and what that might involve.

In my old pack, if someone had a fated, it was one, and most just had I settled for this person matings.

But, meeting Zevo’s family, I saw firsthand how beautiful a triad could be.

None of the things I’d have been worried about if I didn’t know them, gave me doubts. I wouldn’t be a third wheel.

Our relationships with each other wouldn’t be the same.

Seth and Indy’s would be different from each of theirs with me—but Fate didn’t make mistakes, and it would all work.

Zevo had joked once that this place was a triad-matchmaking club.

I thought he was kidding at the time, but now I wasn’t so sure.

My wolf pushed at me over and over, needing to get out, needing to scent them on his own, and not rely on my human abilities.

I no longer looked at them with my human eyes, my beast’s taking over.

Had I been anywhere else, I’d be nervous about that and attempting to hide them, but here, even if a coworker popped their head out, I’d be fine.

“I need my fur,” I said. “Come with me.”

I ran to the bench where I usually dropped my clothes, and yanked them off. They’d barely hit the seat when my beast forced a shift, leaving me grateful he’d waited so long. For a second or two, I feared I’d shred one of my few work outfits.

The second my four paws hit the ground, he let out a howl of victory. First one then another unicorn stood in front of me. I’d heard of them before and could sense them on my mates, but part of me never really believed in them. And now, here I was, mated to two.

I wished I’d been able to take the time to watch their naked bodies as they took off their clothes, admiring the view, but there would be time for that later.

One of them lowered his head and gave my muzzle a lick, and the other did the same.

Then I took off, hoping they understood my beast wanted to be chased, to be caught.

The echo of their hooves behind me let me know they did.

We raced around under the moonlight, and I showed them the land I now called home.

We ran and ran, and as my wolf finally started to settle, the guilt of walking off the line during one of the busiest shifts in my memory settled in.

They would understand, but that didn’t make it right. Not when they’d done so much for me.

I led my mates back to the bench, where I took my skin and threw my clothing back on. Once again, I rushed, missing my opportunity to ogle them. I needed to learn from that.

“I hate to do this, but I need to get back. It’s so busy,” I said. “I’ll tell you the story later, but I really owe this place a lot. Like everything. I can’t let them down. Will you wait for me?”

“Of course we will,” Indy said, taking Seth’s hand. “I feel like we’ve been waiting all our lives to find you. What’s a few more hours?”

I kissed each of their cheeks before I rushed back into the kitchen.

Zevo was great. He would’ve told me to go take care of my mates and not to worry about coming back. The rest of the crew, too. But I needed a few minutes away from them—this little bit of space to process all that had just happened.

In less than a month, my life had been flipped upside down once again. And as well as the last time turned out, this was going to be even better. I found my mates.

Please don’t let me, a wolf who hasn’t finished college, doesn’t have a pack, and lives in a tiny apartment, be a disappointment to them.
