Chapter 12
Coming back to Damien’s house was not on Kenna’s bingo card for the day, but she couldn’t say she was upset by it. Butterflies danced in her belly as she parked her car and grabbed her overnight bag before getting out.
The door to the massive house opened before she could even make it to the doorstep. Damien stepped out in nothing but some black basketball shorts with The Infernos logo. His torso was completely bare, and it caused her steps to falter slightly. That man was so damn fine.
Kenna felt shy as she approached him, heat rising to her cheeks. The last time she had been there, she left in a flurry of pure embarrassment. She knew that night they would have to talk about that incident.
“Hey, beautiful,” Damien said, pulling her into his arms as soon as she was within reach.
“Hey.” Kenna buried her face in his chest and breathed him in.
He smelled like home, and she couldn’t believe she caught feelings for this man so fast. She also couldn’t believe that she had been so nervous to see him earlier when Annalise told her he would be stopping by.
Her insecurities suddenly seemed stupid because the reality of the situation was that she wanted to be around him as much as possible.
“Let me get you inside.” He grabbed her bag and led her into his house. “You hungry?”
“I ate already,” she responded as they walked. Food was honestly the last thing on her mind. She wanted to be up under Damien, and that was really it.
Damien placed her bag by the stairs before they walked into the living room. When they sat on the couch, Kenna wasn’t shy about sitting as close to him as possible.
“You missed me or something?” He grinned down at her as he put his long arms around her, allowing her to cuddle into him.
“I guess I did.” She pulled away so she could look into his eyes. “I think we should talk about yesterday morning.”
“We should. I wanted to apologize to you again on behalf of Skylar. I talked to her, and we came to an understanding… I think.”
“You think?” Kenna cocked her head, worry filling her. The last thing she wanted to do was get close to Damien and then lose him because they couldn’t get Skylar on board.
He nodded. “Teenaged girls are unpredictable, baby. She knows you mean a lot to me. I think that should be enough for her to at least try to get to know you.”
Kenna chewed on her bottom lip as she looked into his eyes. “What are we doing exactly? I… I don’t really do things like this, so I want to make sure we’re on the same page.”
He chuckled and rubbed her waist soothingly. “I like you. A lot.”
His admission made her heart flutter. “I like you too.”
“You tryna be my girl then or what?” he asked.
Kenna pulled away from him and looked at him wide eyed. “You don’t think it’s too soon? We’ve only known each other…” She paused to think. “Not even a week.”
It felt like a lifetime though.
“It’s happening quickly, yes, but tell me it doesn’t feel right.” He pressed his forehead to hers.
“It does, but I don’t know. If I’m being honest, I’m scared.”
“Of what?” He pulled away from her and looked at her with concern. “The last thing I want is you to be afraid when you’re with me.”
She diverted her eyes. “I’m afraid of falling for you and losing you.
I haven’t let anyone in since my brother died.
It’s already bad enough that I have to worry about losing Cam or my parents.
I never wanted to add another person to that equation, but then I met you.
You feel dangerous to me because I know what it’s like to love someone and lose them.
I can’t live through something like that again. ”
In response, Damien cupped her cheeks and kissed her tenderly.
When they pulled apart, he pressed his forehead against hers once again.
“Thank you for your honesty.” They stared into one another’s eyes for a moment before he continued.
“How about this? How about we agree to date exclusively. No titles or none of that. Let’s just get to know each other, let me finish out the season, and then we can go from there. ”
Kenna allowed herself a moment to process his words. Allowing themselves time to get to know each other and also let Skylar warm up to the idea of them sounded perfect. She grinned. “You have a deal, Mr. Blaze.”
“Swear on it.” Damien held out his pinky.
She giggled but eyed him seriously. “What exactly am I swearing on?”
“That you ain’t gon’ give up your time, attention, or pussy to no other nigga.”
Kenna blushed but held her pinky out. “I can pinky promise to that.”
He grinned as they linked their pinkies, his completely engulfing hers. “Bet. Now, let’s discuss what this getting to know each other is going to entail.”
He leaned into her and kissed her lips softly.
“I think you know what it entails,” she flirted.
“I need you to show me,” he replied before kissing her neck. Her back arched, causing her chest to press into him. Slowly, he lifted her baggy T-shirt to reveal that she wore no bra. “You got a thing against undergarments, Ken Ken?”
Breathlessly, she replied. “I just don’t wear them when I don’t have to.”
“You definitely don’t have to around me. Not ever.” He pulled one of her nipples into his mouth and sucked, causing her to moan and push further into him.
“Damien.” The word fell out of her mouth in a gasp. “I need you inside me right now. I know you like taking your time, but we have all night for that. I need you?—”
Her words caught in her throat when he tugged her shirt completely off and pulled off her biker shorts in what felt like one motion. He slid his basketball shorts down and found her wet entrance. “You ready for me, ain’t you?”
She moaned her reply as he gently pushed inside of her. “Fuck.”
He kissed her as he worked his way inside her before he mimicked her. “Fuck.”
The word dragged out as they watched their bodies join together. Kenna thought it was a stunning sight—his long dick pushing in and out of her slippery pussy. She quaked at the feeling of it before pulling him closer, wanting him to go as deep as he could.
A burst of something familiar, yet so unfamiliar, at the same time hit her as she clung to him. “Damien, I…”
She almost allowed the words to fall from her lips, but she held them in. It was too soon. Things felt too uncertain. She willed her heart to understand as she breathed heavily, overwhelmed by this perfect man stroking her to oblivion.
“I know, baby. I know.”
She felt like he really did know. At that moment, they spoke without words, and the language was so beautiful, it brought tears to her eyes.
She knew what she felt, he felt also, and that held power.
Damien had no idea that he could completely undo her and put her back together again, and at that moment, she decided she would gladly let him with no complaints, as long as he promised to always stay by her side.
Kenna’s pussy throbbed around him, and she knew she was close.
She could tell Damien knew it too. He stayed right there at the perfect tempo, hitting the perfect angle.
When she cried out and arched into him, allowing a few tears to drop freely, he kissed them away and whispered, “Cum for me, pretty baby. Cum on this dick.”
What else was she supposed to do but follow his command after he asked so nicely?
She came hard, and he followed right behind her, pulling out at the last second and spilling his seed on her stomach.
Hot tears still fell out of her eyes, leaking into her ears. With a shaky voice, she asked, “W-what was that?”
Damien chuckled and pushed her wild hair away from her tear-stained face. “That, my love, was making love.”
Kenna allowed the words to swirl around in her head as her heart hammered in her chest. Damien, without actually saying the words, confirmed that there was a very strong emotion floating around them that started with the letter L.
